The service provided by Seniors Helping Seniors has been invaluable to me and my family. A friend recommended them when I was looking for support for my husband, who has dementia, so that I could continue working while knowing he was safe, cared for, and had companionship. The team thoughtfully matched a small team of companions to visit him regularly. This continuity was important, so when the usual companion was not available, whoever came was already familiar to him and understood his needs and routine. My husband always looked forward to their visits. They would make him drinks, sometimes help with breakfast, take him for a short walk, and then spend time together painting with aqua paints or singing along to music over another cup of tea, before then taking him to the day centre. The companionship, kindness, and reliability shown by the team made a real difference, and I would highly recommend SHS to anyone looking for compassionate support for a loved one.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We're delighted to hear that our team has been able to support both you and your husband during this time. It's wonderful to know that the continuity of care and familiar carers made a positive difference, and that he enjoyed the visits and activities...
The service provided by the Seniors Helping Seniors has been amazing from the start. The daily visits to provide company for my dad, have a chat and a cup of tea and make him a small meal have been exactly what he needed. It has been reassuring knowing that familiar people have popped in to see him and would report back with any concerns allowing him to remain a little more independent. It's a great service and I would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It truly means a lot to hear how much the visits have supported your dad and given you peace of mind. Building those familiar, friendly connections is exactly what we aim for, and we're so pleased it's made a positive difference to his independence and...
We found out about Seniors Helping Seniors (SHS) quite by chance while looking for some support for my father-in-law. I'd emailed a few companies for more information, and SHS replied with really helpful information, and we thought we'd give them a try.
Tim met with my father-in-law and some members of his family, and we were introduced to some of the individuals who would be supporting him. They all were very friendly and my father-in-law was very happy to chat to them.
We arranged for the support to build up to five days a week, one hour each day, to chat and make a cup of tea (and a sandwich for later). My father-in-law has really taken to the carers and tells us how nice it is when they visit. The timing of the visits were arranged for his/our convenience (when we knew he would have been on his own for a while) and we are so pleased with how well it is working.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're absolutely delighted to hear how well your father-in-law has settled into the visits and that they've become such a positive part of his routine. It's lovely to know the whole process-from your first enquiry to meeting the team-helped you...
We are extremely grateful for the support provided by this care agency. They were incredibly helpful in arranging care at very short notice, taking the time to listen carefully and showing real understanding and sympathy for our situation. They have been patient, kind and respectful with my 86-year-old mother, who is very independent and initially reluctant to accept help, which has made a huge difference. Communication has been excellent throughout, with clear and timely updates whenever there have been any changes to carers or visit times. Knowing that my mum is being cared for by people who are reliable, attentive and genuinely caring has taken away a great deal of worry. I have real peace of mind knowing she is in safe hands.
Thank you so much for your kind review-it really means a lot to us. We're glad we could support you and your mother at short notice and that our team's patience, kindness, and communication made a positive difference. We understand how important it is to respect independence while building trust,...
SHS were caring for my 93 year old Mum for over a year. She had 3 different Carers call in to her on a weekly basis. My mother can be difficult at times, but all Carers were so patient and kind to her and she truly liked all of them. They really did make a difference to her life in a positive way. Everyone was punctual and any (rare) absenteeism was dealt with in a professional way and a substitute found immediately. Unfortunately my Mum had to go into a Care Home and I know how much she misses her Carers. I mainly dealt with Rachel and Tim in the office, who were always friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending SHS, they offer a reliable 5* service with super Carers.
Thank you for your kind review. We're so pleased to hear that our carers made such a positive difference to your mum's life and that she enjoyed their visits. Your lovely comments about their patience and kindness will mean a lot to the team. We're also glad that our office team were able to...
From the outset we felt supported and heard by Seniors helping seniors. It was not an easy time, but we had help navigating every step.
The understanding from owner Tim & care manager Hayley was exemplary. Hayley was the person we liaised with, starting with a home visit and then was our contact for timings, concerns and how they could very best support Mum during her changing health needs.
Hayley is so much more than a care manager. She is empathetic, very experienced & is so patient and kind.
Because of this, the carers she chose for Mum were also really right & we can't speak highly enough of them. The care never felt rushed. They gave really good support with attention to detail and practical suggestions. We felt they went out of their way to really understand our Mum, & the care was always given with care and compassion.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience; your kind words are greatly appreciated. We are delighted that Hayley, our Care Manager, provided exemplary, supportive guidance throughout your Mum's care. It's also wonderful to hear that the carers chosen for your Mum were such a good fit and that...
A friendly, flexible and thoughtful company who have my Mother's best interests in mind. Carers are chosen to match her needs and character, they are prompt, respectful and conscientious. A great company to deal with.
Thank you so much for sharing such lovely feedback. We're thrilled to hear that your mother feels comfortable and well cared for. Matching carers to her personality and needs is something we take great pride in, and it's wonderful to know our team's thoughtfulness and reliability are making a...
The staff were always kind, respectful, sensitive and intuitive to my mother's needs and she really enjoyed their visits. The support of having twice daily visits allowed mum to remain independent in her own home for so much longer.
From the onset of meeting the care staff, the care and professionalism was fantastic. We received daily updates and the communication was superb.
This provided so much reassurance with my mother living over an hour away from myself. I felt really at ease to discuss my mother's care at length. SHS gave so much time, understanding and flexibility to any adjustments in care or new requirements.
I was also very touched by mum's carers attending her funeral service and the support following our great loss. I cannot thank SHS enough for their outstanding care and support.
Thank you for your kind and heartfelt words. We are truly sorry for your loss and honoured to have supported your mother and your family during such an important time. It means so much to hear that our carers' kindness, professionalism, and communication gave you reassurance and helped your mother...
The service is professional but also very human with a capital H. The carers have all been super friendly and happy to help mum. Tim and his team have always personaly introduced new carers to mum.
They respond very quickly to requests and also bring a level of flexibility that does not always exist in the care sector.
Carers have been found who can play games with mum, take her out if she needs and even talk a bit of Spanish and French with her.
A huge THANK YOU from myself and my family for all the ongoing help and advice.
James
We believe care should be professional and deeply human, so it's wonderful to hear Mum has connected so well with the carers and that we could match her with...
I have been using Seniors Helping Seniors for 2 years now to support my mum, who has dementia. There is a small management team who I have got to know well and I feel that they genuinely know and care about both me and my mum. The communication is excellent - with emails for ongoing arrangements backed up by a group chat for quick messages or updates. Most importantly, my mum is very comfortable with the carers who visit, with her main carer becoming a good friend who mum really looks forward to seeing. Unlike some other care providers, all the carers speak good English and are patient and supportive of my mum. The carers provide a range of support including taking her to medical appointments, helping her take her cats to the vet, taking her shopping or for coffee as well as helping her around the house. They also provide personal care visits. Over Christmas they also provided 3 days full cover while I was away, visiting to give her evening medication and checking on her general.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that both you and your mum feel supported, understood, and cared for. Building strong relationships and clear communication is very important to us, so it's...
A neighbour recommended Seniors helping Seniors so I got in touch when I wanted to employ someone to keep my husband company while I went out for the afternoon. The arrangement worked well first time and continued for a couple of years usually with the same Carer. At holiday times there would be a different person who came so I almost always got the cover I needed. So it gave me a sense of freedom.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We're delighted to hear that Seniors Helping Seniors was able to support you and your husband over several years, and that having a familiar carer gave you confidence and peace of mind. We're also pleased that our team could provide...
The quality of carers was exceptional, always caring, engaging and people with whom my parents could have good intellectually stimulating conversations. I always felt my parents were safe and well looked after. The idea of seniors helping seniors really worked for my parents. They responded well to a more mature and experienced person who they could relate to. I was so grateful to the whole team, managers and carers for helping and supporting me through a very challenging time with my parents.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that our team's care, professionalism, and attention made a positive difference for your parents. It's wonderful to know the Seniors Helping Seniors approach worked well and that our carers provided both safety and meaningful...
When my brother was given a diagnosis of dementia, things became very difficult as he lived on his own 160 miles from us, his only relatives. He did not need personal care, but could no longer cope with many everyday things such as letters/forms, bank cards and appointments etc. Knowing that there was someone local who would help him was hugely reassuring. We found Seniors Helping Seniors to be very supportive & respectful of their client, and also flexible if the hours needed to be changed. My brother came to value the times he had coffee & a walk with his 'buddy' and the family WhatsApp group they created was great for communicating how he was & for us to share any specific needs for that week. Thank you so much for the care & attention you provided. I don't know how we could have managed without it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Your kind words truly touch us. It was a privilege to support your brother and to know that our service brought reassurance to you and your family, especially from a distance. We're delighted he enjoyed the company and connection and...
I have been using the team to provide companions for my father and we are extremely happy with the service they provide. The companions are very warm and friendly and my father looks forward to their visits. I would recommend the team as a whole to anyone who requires companions for their elderly relatives.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation. We're delighted to hear that your father enjoys his time with our companion carers and that their visits bring comfort and joy. Our team takes great pride in providing warm, friendly, and reliable care, and it's wonderful to know this has...
We had several visits a week from the same lovely lady over a couple of years mostly cooking a hot meal and engaging with Dad. I always found her to be reliable and felt she genuinely cared for Dads welfare as well as being empathetic to me. In addition I knew if there were any concerns she would let me know. Without her I'm not sure we'd have managed to keep Dad at home for as long as we did on his own
In addition SHS is run very efficiently and any queries (of which there were very few) were handled in a timely and satisfactory manner
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with SHS. We understand how difficult it can be when loved ones are reluctant to accept help, and we're so pleased we could support both your mum and dad through those changes. It's wonderful to hear that the carer we introduced brought...
The approach of SHS is really person centred and even the application process was reassuring and uncomplicated. All staff are personable and the carers a great help. We really enjoy seeing some of them - as we would a friend.
Thank you sincerely for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that you found our approach to be truly person-centred and that the application process felt reassuring and straightforward. It's especially heartening to know that our staff and carers have made such a positive connection with you....
Seniors Helping Seniors have been a huge support to my parents over the last 18 months. The communication with them and with us has been effective and efficent, and the approach to delivering services very flexible. Very happy to recommend them to others.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation. We're truly grateful for the opportunity to support your parents over the past 18 months. It's wonderful to hear that our communication and flexible approach have made a positive difference. We're always here to help, and it means a lot to know our services have been appreciated by both your parents and your family. Kind regards
My brother, sister and I are all very pleased with the help we have for our 93 year old mother. We have two hours a week which is part companionship and part gardening. Despite the fact that my mother has moved from her house into a care home a couple of months back we asked for the support to continue to make the settling into the home an easier transition. The team behind the individual carer are always available to tweak the service as necessary.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased the support has helped your mother settle in more comfortably, and that the continued companionship and gardening have been beneficial. We're always here to adapt as needed. Kind regards,
I had Seniors for Seniors when I was caring for my mum to enable me to have a little time for myself starting around 2022 until she died end of 2024. The carers were excellent caring kind and nothing was to much trouble. Not only did they care for my mum with dignity they had time for me too, making sure that I was okay and getting enough support.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're honoured to have supported you and your mum during such an important time. It's wonderful to hear our carers provided care with dignity and were there for you as well. Please know we're here for you whenever you need support. Kind regards,
Once a week has been just enough to help me cope over the last year.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback! We're glad to have been able to support you through your surgeries and recovery. It's wonderful to hear that our team's help has made a positive difference. We look forward to continuing to assist you whenever you need us. Kind regards,
