Christine has been a fantastic companion for my father in law, who has dementia. She is kind and caring and has engaged him in activities that he gave up long ago. He always enjoys her visits providing valuable respite care for my mother in law, who is able to enjoy her time reassured that he is in safe hands.

I contacted SHS in December 2025 when my Mother was hospitalised. She made me promise that I wouldn't let her go to a care home! From the moment I spoke to SHS, I felt that there was real compassion and a 'can do' attitude. My experience with my Father in a care home was so negative, with so very little 'care', I knew that care at home was the only real solution. The conversations and the understanding of perceived needs was impeccable and by the time the care started (3 times a day, 7 days a week) in May 2026, I felt that Mum's needs would be catered for whilst still maintaining a level of independence. The girls have been wonderful (Mum only wanted female carers) and provide care with a capital 'C'.

Their daily tasks are wide ranging but all are conducted with friendliness/care/compassion. There is also a reactiveness by the staff should an emergency situation arise, with great and timely communication between the necessary parties. Thank you SHS, a wonderful human resource.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt review. It means a great deal to the whole SHS team. We were recommended to this service by a trusted friend and it has had such a positive impact for my mother.
She is so keen to stay in her own home and this service is allowing her to do so safely. In the future I can see us increasing their input but the owners are so helpful and accommodating that I don't see this as a problem.
All carers are personally introduced, and they are kindness itself.
The owners are professional and caring, and are responsive to requests.

It is so reassuring for me, living a distance away, that they offer such a reliable service.

The service provided by the Seniors Helping Seniors has been brilliant from the start. The daily visits providing company, and really practical help for my brother-in-law have been of immeasurable help, and given my wife and I real comfort knowing that he is getting the aid he needs in coping since the onset of Alzheimer's. Just for him to have a chat and a cup of tea, help him with his shopping and make him a small meal with people he trusts have been exactly what has he needed. It has been reassuring knowing that familiar people are going in to see him and letting us know how he is doing and where he is struggling to cope as we do not live close by and our own health issues make it difficult for us to visit him.

My mother really enjoys the visits. All of the carers have been lovely and the woman who comes most regularly is particularly kind and has established a very positive relationship with Mum, despite Mum's memory issues. SHS has been very efficient and responsive in arranging the visits to suit Mum's changing needs.

My Auntie started by having a companionship visit twice a week. This helped her, she enjoyed the visits and the helper took her out to the local coffee shop. The visits increased over the next six months to visits every day with 3 different helpers. Between them they organised her weekly shopping and ensured that she had a meal every day and left food for a light snack each evening. Bank holidays were also covered, which gave me peace of mind as I am not local. As my Auntie became less able to cope at home, the helpers stepped up to make sure she was as safe as possible. An incident occurred on a Saturday morning where I was unable to obtain any help from anywhere. I phoned the on call team and they were there within the hour sorting the situation for me. I can't talk highly enough about the care my Auntie received from the whole team.

We have used Seniors Helping Seniors to support my sister for about 2 years now. This is mainly for companionship, which includes shopping trips, visits to the garden centre etc. The companion is absolutely excellent - very supportive, sensible, dependable and always willing to go the extra mile for my sister. It also helps having a 'senior' person who has personal experience of supporting elderly people. I was also impressed with the friendly service from Seniors as an organisation. They took a lot of care in matching my sister with the right companion and have been able to offer a replacement on the odd occasion when the usual companion has been on holiday. Overall, it has been an ideal solution for our situation.

Mum and Dad had reached a point where they couldn't completely cope with independent living but wished to remain at home. Seniors Helping Seniors (SHS) were the perfect fit as their visits helped from both a social aspect and help wherever it was needed.
This became crucial after we lost Dad last year and Mum needed a lot more help. We had to cope as a family looking after Mum more, and with additional visits from SHS to plug the gap, it took a lot of stress off of us. We could also rely on them for Hospital appts etc when we couldn't be there, cooking lunch, a bit of housework and, most importantly, the daily gossip including keeping up with the soaps!

We would highly recommend SHS. They showed tremendous flexibility accommodating Mum's wishes throughout her time with them and also making us feel at ease knowing she was safe and happy with each visit.

The service provided by Seniors Helping Seniors has been invaluable to me and my family. A friend recommended them when I was looking for support for my husband, who has dementia, so that I could continue working while knowing he was safe, cared for, and had companionship. The team thoughtfully matched a small team of companions to visit him regularly. This continuity was important, so when the usual companion was not available, whoever came was already familiar to him and understood his needs and routine. My husband always looked forward to their visits. They would make him drinks, sometimes help with breakfast, take him for a short walk, and then spend time together painting with aqua paints or singing along to music over another cup of tea, before then taking him to the day centre. The companionship, kindness, and reliability shown by the team made a real difference, and I would highly recommend SHS to anyone looking for compassionate support for a loved one.

My father had seniors helping him for the last few years of his life. He was 97 when he died and had lived independently but needed a little help in the last few years . He was reluctant at first but very quickly could not praise them enough . The seniors team were compassionate, but most importantly treated him with respect and dignity. They helped him achieve tasks he wanted to do but never took over , always listening to his needs and helping him to reach his goals . My father was a fiercely independent man so it was wonderful that he could carry on doing the things he loved with their attentive help. They also went the extra mile in accommodating unexpected emergencies and were always available when needed. Towards the end of his life their visits gave him a sense of purpose and he looked forward to their visits. My father if he was still alive would sing their praises and I and my brothers cannot recommend or thank them enough . They are outstanding.

I have been very impressed with the organisation and support provided by Seniors Helping Seniors for my Mum in Canterbury. We selected this companion service and have been using them since February 2026, particularly because more experienced staff were used and the value that they placed on their employees. The weekly visits provided for my mother is welcome and gives me peace of mind as we do not live close by.

The staff are vey helpful, The administration is particularly efficient with communications being responsed to quickly. When we needed to adapt the appointments this has been done without complication.

I have particularly relieved that at short notice that a companion could be found to accompany my Mum to an emergency dental appointment.

The Portal is a useful tool to track the meetings and updates from the companion. Again there is always a prompt response in record keeping.

Seniors Helping Seniors went out of their way to provide a top rate service for my wife. The procedure started with the owner visiting us at home for a discussion and to leave a questionnaire for us to provide details of my wife's likes, dislikes, past employment, hobbies and pastimes so that the carer could be carefully matched to my wife. Soon, a small team of carers was assembled, each one being introduced by the owner, and the team remained stable throughout my wife's care. When we went from two carer visits per day to three, the manager went over and above the call of duty to find the extra suitable staff. Each carer was kind, genuinely caring, professional and thoughtful, adding significantly to the quality of life of my wife and myself.

We are delighted we found this company, and with how well my father-in-law has taken to visits from the carers.
We found out about Seniors Helping Seniors (SHS) quite by chance while looking for some support for my father-in-law. I'd emailed a few companies for more information, and SHS replied with really helpful information, and we thought we'd give them a try.
Tim met with my father-in-law and some members of his family, and we were introduced to some of the individuals who would be supporting him. They all were very friendly and my father-in-law was very happy to chat to them.

We arranged for the support to build up to five days a week, one hour each day, to chat and make a cup of tea (and a sandwich for later). My father-in-law has really taken to the carers and tells us how nice it is when they visit. The timing of the visits were arranged for his/our convenience (when we knew he would have been on his own for a while) and we are so pleased with how well it is working.
