Seniors Helping Seniors Mid Surrey and West Kent

I have been using Seniors Helping Seniors for 2 years now to support my mum, who has dementia. There is a small management team who I have got to know well and I feel that they genuinely know and care about both me and my mum. The communication is excellent - with emails for ongoing arrangements backed up by a group chat for quick messages or updates. Most importantly, my mum is very comfortable with the carers who visit, with her main carer becoming a good friend who mum really looks forward to seeing. Unlike some other care providers, all the carers speak good English and are patient and supportive of my mum. The carers provide a range of support including taking her to medical appointments, helping her take her cats to the vet, taking her shopping or for coffee as well as helping her around the house. They also provide personal care visits. Over Christmas they also provided 3 days full cover while I was away, visiting to give her evening medication and checking on her general.

A neighbour recommended Seniors helping Seniors so I got in touch when I wanted to employ someone to keep my husband company while I went out for the afternoon. The arrangement worked well first time and continued for a couple of years usually with the same Carer. At holiday times there would be a different person who came so I almost always got the cover I needed. So it gave me a sense of freedom.

The quality of carers was exceptional, always caring, engaging and people with whom my parents could have good intellectually stimulating conversations. I always felt my parents were safe and well looked after. The idea of seniors helping seniors really worked for my parents. They responded well to a more mature and experienced person who they could relate to. I was so grateful to the whole team, managers and carers for helping and supporting me through a very challenging time with my parents.

When my brother was given a diagnosis of dementia, things became very difficult as he lived on his own 160 miles from us, his only relatives. He did not need personal care, but could no longer cope with many everyday things such as letters/forms, bank cards and appointments etc. Knowing that there was someone local who would help him was hugely reassuring. We found Seniors Helping Seniors to be very supportive & respectful of their client, and also flexible if the hours needed to be changed. My brother came to value the times he had coffee & a walk with his 'buddy' and the family WhatsApp group they created was great for communicating how he was & for us to share any specific needs for that week. Thank you so much for the care & attention you provided. I don't know how we could have managed without it.

I have been using the team to provide companions for my father and we are extremely happy with the service they provide. The companions are very warm and friendly and my father looks forward to their visits. I would recommend the team as a whole to anyone who requires companions for their elderly relatives.

In addition SHS is run very efficiently and any queries (of which there were very few) were handled in a timely and satisfactory manner

The approach of SHS is really person centred and even the application process was reassuring and uncomplicated. All staff are personable and the carers a great help. We really enjoy seeing some of them - as we would a friend.

Seniors Helping Seniors have been a huge support to my parents over the last 18 months. The communication with them and with us has been effective and efficent, and the approach to delivering services very flexible. Very happy to recommend them to others.

I had Seniors for Seniors when I was caring for my mum to enable me to have a little time for myself starting around 2022 until she died end of 2024. The carers were excellent caring kind and nothing was to much trouble. Not only did they care for my mum with dignity they had time for me too, making sure that I was okay and getting enough support.

Once a week has been just enough to help me cope over the last year.

Seniors Helping Seniors provided some fantastic support for my mother over more than two years, until her care needs increased and she moved into full time residential care. They were flexible, stepping in to respond to specific requests such as visits to the hairdresser and dentist and helping to increase the frequency of visits as her care needs changed. They were easy to communicate with and responsive thanks to a group that was constantly monitored. And (most important of all) they had a great team of carers who often went above and beyond to make sure that my mother was well cared for. She has even had visits from some of them at her new care home.

Seniors Helping Seniors have been great, My mum gets on with her carers really well and looks forward to their regular visits. It has really helped my mum and us as a family to have the regular support from the carers from Seniors Helping Seniors. Over time we have increased the number of care visits to be 5 days a week and the team have made it easy to make these changes. highly recommended

I am also impressed by the prompt and positive responses I have had to minor queries which have cropped up along the way. Without exception, each member of the team has been knowledgeable about my Mum's situation, and readily able to respond to queries. I am so glad we found Seniors - and strongly recommend them to anyone seeking high quality care for their loved one.

My brothers are I are not close by; in fact two of us live in the United States. We had a situation with my mother who needed to be admitted to hospital late at night. Seniors made sure my father was looked after, one of their team was with my mother until she was admitted. Cannot say enough about this team, they are without doubt the best and kindest people we could hope for to help with my parents needs.

My mother has used Seniors helping Seniors for over 18 months, and in that time she has come to rely totally on the service. All carers have been exceptional, and all are willing to go beyond the call of duty to help out. On the few occasions that my mother has had to go to hospital, the carers have supported her both in person and emotionally and made the trauma of the hospital visit much more bearable. My mother has the carers attending 5/6 days a week, and she has never been let down. Our family are all so grateful to everyone at SHS.

Seniors provided an invaluable service for my mum, who at the time was deteriorating with dementia. They gave her friendship and took her out to coffee and shops, maintaining her links with local services and socializing. The ladies themselves were amazing. I can't recommend them enough. They were kind, genuine and would go out of their way to make my mum happy and feel valued. Amazing service including excellent communication with the office and management.

Seniors Helping Seniors are easy to deal with and very helpful attending to all needs of the Client, sometimes at short notice and they are very flexible. They have built a good relationship with the client and I would recommend them

We are very pleased with the lovely helpful lady who comes to us each week, helping with a variety of tasks. Communications with the manager are timely and helpful and once we had the regular payments setup it all just works.

I have been using this company to care for my Mum for the last couple of years. All the team are amazing. Happy to help out even at late notice. The carers are super friendly, caring and can't do enough to help my Mum who has Alzheimer's. It's such peace of mind when they are there, I can relax knowing my Mum is in excellent hands. Seniors helping seniors have provided wonderful support and companionship for my mother over many years. The lovely staff were carefully chosen to reflect mums needs and personality. They supported her in many ways, taking her out for walks, doing puzzles with her, and generally keeping her stimulated. When her dementia became very severe, they dealt with her in an extremely sympathetic manner. And in her last week or so, before she passed away, they were there for her all the time, night and day. Such a reliable service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any person in need of some care and companionship in the home .
