Formally known as Safe Hands Support, Choices Homecare's motto is 'skilled care your way', a philosophy they look to bring to older and vulnerable adults throughout Oldham and beyond. They are proud to support people to live in their own homes for longer and can provide a full range of homecare services tailored to a person's own individual needs.

Their 'Values' are embedded throughout the Organisation and reflect their Vision (...to deliver a service to be proud of), supporting them to deliver the best quality of care that they can for their service users.

They offer a fully person centred approach to a wide range of care needs and requirements (and offer support with: personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance, home respite/safety check visits or sitting services whilst family go out, assisting service users to go out into the community, shopping, light domestic help and more). They can also provide support to adults who suffer dementia or those with learning or other disabilities, if in doubt that they'll be able to support you with something that you need, they'll be more than happy to discuss your enquiry.

There is a strong focus on quality recruitment and training within Choices and they are passionate about delivering safe, well planned services; care and support workers promote choice and independence, whatever the situation. Outcome-focused services take account of client preferences and aspirations, with 'Choices' considering themselves as 'working in partnership with their service users' to deliver, quality services to each and every one.

I just wanted those of you who are looking for home cares to know just how good CHOICES HOMECARE are.

My wife had to go into care whilst I was in hospital, following this it was decided that we needed care for my wife, simply because I was no longer well enough to give her the care she needs,

Choices

Homecare was recommended to us by the care home my wife was in, and also by the Social Services,

They have been caring for my wife 3/4 per day since the end of MAY 2025, and are still doing so, my wife has terminal cancer plus a incontinence problem and also a stoma, she has been confined to bed for a few years now

She is washed daily, clothing/underware/bedding all changed as and when required, sometimes more than once a day,

The care and attention given by all of carers who attend to Mary is second to none, I would fully recommend Choices Homecare to anyone.
At first their fee's were met by S/S, we now have to pay for their services, but don't care, they are worth every penny

The carers are very understanding of my mum's needs. They are friendly and provide much needed company for her. They have really supported us and our needs for Mum including supporting Mum to eat regularly. They have taken things slowly and added to her care needs when she was ready to accept more help
and support. There is always a manager at the end of the phone 7 days a week which is very reassuring and the app allows us added reassurance as we can monitor what is happening and how Mum is on a daily basis even if we cannot be there in person ourselves.

The service is just acceptable, but things need to be improved, such as shaving and overly using products, which impacts me having to shop more frequently.

Reply from Elaine Bradley-Smith, Employee Engagement & Communications Officer at Choices Homecare (Oldham)

Thanks for taking the time to submit your review, we really appreciate all feedback received (both positive & negative) to assist us in making future improvements. We have since been in touch to discuss your comments and have asked our care workers to try and be more economical when using products. You have confirmed that, other than the amount of product used, you are happy with the service which is provided to your husband and that there is nothing else we need to do to improve his service. Thanks again for taking the time to review us!

My care providers are very supportive of my health condition. My carers get me washed and dressed, and ready for the day. I have a fantastic relationship with all my carers. They make a huge difference to my life, and I thank them for that, and so do my family.
Thank you very much.
