Alcedo care are amazing with my daughter, highly trained staff who are absolutely lovely people. They communicate with her in her own individual way and adapt when she's struggling. I love that they understand her neuro diversity and can provide consistency.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are very happy to be supporting you and your daughter; and we are pleased that you are happy with the support from our care team.
Alcedo have been my cherry on the cake since our beautiful carers started helping with my daughter, they are all fabulous with all her needs, my daughter is very complex and her carers know all of her., I trust them enough to go out and try to be me again, office staff are just like my friends, friendly and I can speak to them so lovely. Five star from myself and my daughter,
Thank you for your lovely feedback, it is a pleasure caring for your daughter. We are so happy that you have put your trust in us to provide care at home, and that you are able to take some much-needed time for yourself.
Fabulous care team nothing is too much trouble very caring and professional staff. Reliable and trustworthy. Office staff curtious and polite and helpful. Mum has a wonderful relationship with her carer who goes out of her way to keep mum safe and calm. I have used other companies but none have even come close to the standard of Alcedo.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, it is great to hear that your mum has such a good relationship with our care staff. It is a pleasure providing care/support to your mum.
The whole team have been great and fully supported our family as a whole. We are forever grateful, especially Molly. Thanks, everyone. We will miss you.
Thankyou louise for your kind words, it has been a pleasure working alongside you all, we will pass your kind comments on to staff and wish you all the best of luck in the future.
All the girls who come are amazing, and my daughter really loves them coming.
Thankyou for your kind words, we are glad your family find comfort in the staff visiting and the brilliant relationship your daughter has with them.
my son has enjoyed his days out with the staff and also has been happy to go out with them on arrival and with him being non verbal is massive for him to go happily shows he is really enjoying his time out with the staff. this also gives him a change of face from myself and his brother which he needs.
the staff are really engaging and have trialed different days out with my son, and braved settings i would struggle to take him myself.
Thankyou for your lovely review, it has been great to work with you all.
Currently getting care for my partners Nan and they've been amazing from the first initial meet up about what care requirements she needs to now having the carer coming in weekly to help her. I can't thank the team enough for all they've done so far and would recommend them to anyone who is needed care for a loved one.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback, it is a pleasure taking care of your relative.
I recomand with all my heart the services.
Thankyou for your lovely feedback, we are happy both yourself and son are happy with the service we provide
I commissioned weekly one hour visits for my mother, sadly diagnosed with Aphasia leaving her completely non-verbal. I can honestly say that the needs of my mother have been met in full, with anything I ask for provided without question. I have now increased the visits to twice weekly which again was supported immediately and with the the team ensuring that my mothers needs were met at both calls and attempting to ensure continuity of care giver each time. I have been extremely impressed with both the responses from the commissioning team and the carers who are looking after my mother. My mother has had carers now for several months, after some reluctance from my mother she now looks forward to their visit and whilst she cannot communicate with the carers she certainly enjoys the interactions they have. The experience to-date is extremely positive I would certainly recommend Alcedo to anyone looking for complex/dementia type care in the home.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, it is great to hear your mother looks forward to her visits.
They are professional, caring, compassionate, and friendly.
My Mother can be "challenging" at times and they all coped brilliantly with her.
Thank you all so much.
Thank you for your review, we are happy we could support you with this process, it has been a pleasure.
Procedures and information from Alcedo were shared and explained in detail.
In conclusion a very positive experience. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely words. It has been a pleasure to support you to get you where you need to be.
Very good
Thank you for your review! We are delighted you are happy with your care.
They are all very nice and treat me with respect. I did have a problem with one but that has been resolved.
Thank you for your review, we find it a pleasure to support you.
The carers are great.
Thank you for your review, we're delighted that you happy with the Carers and will be sure to pass that feedback on to them.
The carers are excellent, make me feel happy that Mother is well cared for. They go above and beyond to ensure that Mother is cared for and happy. Carer treats Mother as an individual and goes to extra lengths to know what Mother likes and what her interests are.
Thank you so much for your feedback, we'll ensure this is shared with our staff.
Very good.
Thank you for your response, our staff greatly appreciate the time you have taken to provide such positive feedback.
Having carers really helps with my day-to-day chores and knowing that my son is safe and happy with his new friends. Would like to say a big thank you to all at Alcedo for everything they do; for example, today, they have come early to help me collect my son from school as the bus was broken.
Thank you for your kind words. Our staff will always support our clients and families, going above and beyond to support quality of life.
We are only sorry that the council is no longer using Alcedo to provide care!
It is very difficult to give a general assessment of Alcedo carers. All are caring and helpful - some have gone over and above what would normally be expected e.g moving my brother from his bedroom upstairs to a hospital bed downstairs. Indeed, I feel some have become friends.
My mum used to have you guys as carers coming around to her house. The fact it seems none of them knew she was at end-of-life and so instead of helping me, reported me instead for everything and made the last few months harder for us both was diabolical. The least you should do is train up on what end-of-life looks like which can include the client staying in bed a lot more, sleeping more, becoming skinnier, lack of appetite, needing thickened drinks, etc. Not always did she get thickened drinks which caused her to choke even after being told to make sure they were thickened and also mixed. Just please do better for the next clients who are at end-of-life. My mum deserved better, especially after being a community carer and unpaid carer herself. She even sometimes told them what they needed to do because she knew the role. Just do better!

Hi, my name is Karen, and I am the Operations Manager of Alcedo Care St Helens. I started with Alcedo Care in 2019, and I have loved every minute of it!
I started as a Home Care Worker in February 2019 and gradually progressed to Area Manager. I am very passionate about providing high-quality care services, and I love my job!
Hi, my name is Jade, and I started with Alcedo Care St Helens in July 2021 as a Home Care Worker. I have 9 years of experience in the care sector and value the hard work and dedication that care staff put in on a daily basis.
Over the last 9 years, I have worked in a variety of different roles, gaining knowledge and experience from each one to improve my skills and support customers in the best way I can.
I became an Area Manager 1 year ago, and I have loved every minute of it. My team have supported me and helped me grow my abilities and confidence personally and professionally. I couldn't see myself working for another care company now that I have been part of the Alcedo Care family.
My name is Mel and I’m the Deputy Manager at Alcedo Care St Helens. My role in a nutshell is to assist the Care Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of our homecare service, to ensure that we are providing excellent quality, person-centred care to our clients.
I quickly earned myself a promotion to Deputy Manager in October that same year, and again had the opportunity of promotion to Registered Manager in July 2022.
My passion is caring, my personality is kindness, and my goal is ensuring safe effective care is delivered to our lovely clients.
Hi, my name is Emily and I am a Care Co-Ordinator for Alcedo Care St Helens. I started Alcedo Care in March 2020 and I love it! My previous job was as a Fleet Transport Administrator. I have always spoken about going into care but I never had until now. I absolutely love my job as it is so rewarding!
I started Alcedo Care as a Home Care Worker and was later promoted to Care Co-Ordinator.
My hobbies are Morris dancing for Platt Bridge and Morris dancers. I have done this for over 30 years. I enjoy socialising, going out for meals and spending time with my family and friends.
My name is Chloe and I’m the Care Assessor at Alcedo Care St Helens. As a Care Assessor, my role is to prepare and adapt person-centred care plans for our clients and their families. These might be produced with the client alone, but sometimes might also involve other healthcare professionals. It is my responsibility to ensure our clients have the maximum amount of input possible into the care plan, and that it takes into account not only their personal and medical information, but their likes, dislikes, and what we can do to enrich their life and support independence.
I have been with Alcedo now for around 3 years, I started off at the Wigan Branch in 2020 working as a care assistant and then moved on to a small team supporting a young lady with complex needs. I then progressed to a Care Assessor in August 2022 for the St Helens Branch.
I was drawn to the role of a Care Assessor after working closely in the community with the clients already and wanted to progress my skills further and use my experience in the field to fulfil this role. I find my role extremely rewarding and I am proud to support the carers to deliver person-centred care every day. Before starting with Alcedo Care in 2020 I had already been working as a Care Assistant for 4 years both in the community, in nursing homes and in specialist care facilities. I had also been studying for my Learning Disability Nursing Degree but this sadly stopped due to Covid-19, but this is something I may revisit in the future.
Outside of work, I like to spend time with my partner and the dog visiting new places, and I like going to see my family I have a close relationship with my mum and my grandparents. I also go to the gym throughout the week and enjoy going to the cinema.
My name is Grace and I’m the recruiter at Alcedo Care St Helens. I work to fill our care jobs in St Helens and the surrounding areas, and I’m the first person you’ll be in touch with when you look to join Alcedo Care as a care assistant or support worker. My role is to work with our operation team to identify where we need more staff, post adverts and review applications. I carry out interviews and guide our potential future carers through the application and compliance process, ensuring we are bringing through the best calibre of care professionals to provide outstanding quality care to our clients.
I first had an interview with Alcedo Care in March 2022 to be considered as a care worker. Soon after this, we realised that I would not be suitable for the role, as I was under 18. I was very lucky to be given another opportunity for a second interview as a Recruitment Resource Apprentice based in the Wigan branch. After being successful with my interview I was given the role, and quickly after I started work with the Wigan Homecare team. I picked up the role very quickly and thoroughly enjoyed my day–to–day role with the company. After just 8 months working with Alcedo I was offered a promotion, to move over to another branch and become a Trainee Recruitment Manager based in St Helens. I did not have to think twice about it, and I was over the moon being offered this amazing opportunity. I have now been in the St Helens branch for 10 months and I absolutely love my role, I have recently celebrated my 1-year anniversary in April 2023. I have just completed my apprenticeship course and I am waiting for my results, and hopefully, I will be graded a distinction.
When I joined Alcedo Care, I was very shy and had zero confidence. I was asked to present PowerPoints in front of large groups of people which helped me to progress within myself. My friends and family have noticed a huge personal development and growth and I can only thank Alcedo for making this happen.
In my spare time, I enjoy going out with my family, as well as seeing my friends. We like to go out for meals, especially Italians! I also enjoy going on holidays and visiting new places around the world.
