I would recommend senior care moments for dementia care at home. Owner is a nurse with lots of experience. They have been looking after my mother for several years. Careworkers are friendly and report issues well
There was a problem where my husband had put a metal bell in his mouth and wouldn't let it go. After a great deal of care and persuasion Sally brought him home so that she could keep an eye on him. She stayed with us and arranged help to get him to A&E as he just wouldn't spit it out. This made the whole experience less stressful for me than if I'd been alone. I'm so pleased this happened when Senior Moments were on hand to deal with it. I can't praise them enough because as anyone caring for someone with dementia with the best intentions you can't have an eye on them 24/7 and these things happen.
Very person centred, adaptable ,helpful and caring .which means a lot to me as this helps me maintain my indepence .
I am able to go to the Theatre and trips using moments accessiable mini buses and I have been been encourage by managment to go to college to do 2yr year counselling course.
What more could I ask for !!
Moments team
After a little discord with a change of staff. We seem to be back on track this year, though we would like to see the same carers so as to continue a continuation of care, with high quality and standard of care and more focus on my husband's individual needs ie brushing his hair etc. Those are just little quibbles but they are important to my husband and set him off ready for business in the day seeing that he is an integral part of the business. Generally Senior Moments are a good care company and always there to talk to and easy to approach with changing problems that occur meeting my husband's needs.
Good service, care excellent. Very happy with all aspects of the Senior Moments Care.
My heath can quickly decline and my support has enabled me to maintain regular contact with several different specialist and coordinated my support in line with my changing health needs.
On times when I am unwell they adapt my support and this enables me to maintain my independence.
The staff are patient and caring and treat her with dignity and respect. Without the care that she receives my mother would not be able to remain in her own home.
The management team have also tried to think of ways to stimulate her to bring more variety to her days which has been good for her.
Over the last few months, there have been a lot of changes to the team which has caused some confusion for my Mum, but hopefully, it will settle down again and she will get used to the new team members and they will get used to her routine.
Our mum has been coming here for a while and absolutely loves her time there. The staff are professional and very friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. The activities vary and mum really enjoys the music side. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants these services. 5 stars from my mum and her family.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we love having mum as part of the family.
Senior Moments Day Centre is absolutely amazing. The manager (director) is incredibly adaptable and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are amazing, patient, caring and treat everyone with dignity. They make the days fun-packed and never boring. They deserve every positive recognition they receive. I cannot think of anything that could be improved on with the care and management. However, the transport vehicles are old and need replacing with newer models. The hub itself is tired-looking, carpet, fixtures, fittings etc. But I guess money is limited and the manager and staff work with what they have.
I a writing this review on behalf of my husband who is a dementia client of Senior Moments Care and is unable to write it himself. My husband was only able to attend the Day Care Centre for 3 weeks before he became ill and had to go into hospital. Despite his short time at the centre, he became part of the family as did I, his wife. The care and compassion shown to us both were second to none and even after his admission to hospital the concern for his welfare and help and advice given to me was overwhelming. A first-class establishment.
Thanks so much for your kind words, it is lovely to have you as part of the family.
Senior Moments have been a fantastic support to Mum (who has severe dementia now) and her family. The director and her staff have been fabulous in settling Mum into a happy routine over the last 2 years with lots of weekly day trips and daily activities. Mum also went on her first cruise for a week. Everything is super organised and Mum looks forward to going to the hub, who pick up and drop off. In 2 years, I have never encountered any problems. Senior Moments have enhanced Mum's life living with dementia and her family's life coping with dementia. I cannot recommend Senior Moments enough, such amazing support through a difficult time.
Thank you so much for this fabulous review; we love supporting you all and look forward to doing so for a long time.
Senior Moments has made a big difference to my elderly mum, and me. I know she is being well looked after and stimulated with activities, companionship and conversation. The staff are all really nice and understanding. I'm happy my mum is able to go here.
Senior Moments is an excellent care provider with staff who are well-trained, efficient and sympathetic. They have provided exactly the type of care and support I need in a relaxed and friendly manner. As well as dealing with my practical requirements, they provide good company, which makes their visits even more enjoyable.
Many thanks for your kind words; it's our pleasure and privilege to be a small part of your life.
My late husband was a client of both home care and daycare in the last year of his life after his dementia diagnosis in July 2021. As well as the excellent care he received from all of the staff, I was also supported enormously. They also enabled me, with home care, to have Hospice at home during my husband's final days. I am forever grateful to them and continue to be supported by them.
Thanks, it's our privilege to be part of your lives; thanks for your kind words.
The carers are all brilliant, and they are very good at helping us around the house. They are very nice and always chat with us, and we have a good laugh.
Brilliant service, taking great care of my sister. Communication is exceptional nack to me to keep me informed and advised. Seemed to go above and beyond when following up on any issues or care needs, in particular, arranging collection of prescriptions following online diagnosis, having sent pictures to the doctors. Very pleased and impressed with all levels of care.
Senior Moments Care is an excellent facility which I cannot praise highly enough. My father receives total respect and is treated with dignity at all times. The central hub itself is constantly evolving and trying to improve even more with games, visitors and trips out, to the illuminations, in particular, this month. All the staff are polite, courteous and well trained and have a sense of fun as well as of duty! My father loves to be outside, even in winter, so they go the extra mile to take him when the dogs go for a walk or just to help sweep up the leaves or do a bit of gardening for a short time.
Varied activities throughout the day.
Comfortable and safe centre.
Your support to myself and family was also greatly appreciated and proved invaluable.
Absolutely fabulous care for my mum. Without the owner and the team, the last 2-years would have been a real struggle for Mum. All her children live quite far away, and to have the reassurance of Senior Moments visiting each day has been incredible.
