Overall Experience

The manager and her team at Gracious Care have been amazing ever since we signed with them. Their care for Dad has evolved as his and our needs. They have adapted the schedule with ease. Communication and care are excellent. I spoke to a few companies before I finally found Gracious Care. Just that initial call surpassed all the others on attention to detail and care. Dad has Parkinson's, so his health will only ever deteriorate. I'm so grateful we have Gracious Care to help, now on a daily basis. Dad loves his carers and their visits. We couldn't cope without them!

Christine has over 32 years of experience in the Health and Social Care Sector. As a result of these experiences I decided to set up Gracious Care.

We aspire to be the best in the field, offering you or your spouse, your mum, your dad, your brother or sister, care with respect, compassion and a level of service ‘custom built’ to keep them at home amongst familiar surroundings and memories.

Working in care is so inspirational as it brings out some of the most meaningful aspects of life.

Care work is rooted in empathy, trust, and compassion. Care is more than a profession—it's a commitment to upholding dignity, fostering trust, and making meaningful, lasting contributions to the lives of others. Through every challenge, we create opportunities to inspire confidence and deliver impactful, compassionate support.

Care work is purpose-driven driven which is deeply rewarding. It challenges you to be patient, adaptable and emotionally intelligent. The resilience you witness from those you care for can be so inspiring. It offers perspective and motivation to face your own challenges with greater strength. I am honoured to be a part of the journey Gracious Care brings to the lives of those we support, and look forward to leaving a lasting effect to those we may provide care for in the future.

Being a great carer involves a unique blend of empathy, patience, and skill.

I have worked in end-of-life care and enjoy passing my knowledge on to new staff. I dedicate myself to improving the quality of life for those I look after, giving them a sense of comfort, security and trust.

I am proud to be a member of such a fantastic group of carers and take pride in representing Gracious Care to its highest standards.

I was born in Hertfordshire but spent much of my formative years on the south coast. After finishing school, I followed my passion for horse riding and soon became involved in teaching riding for the disabled, a role that gave me immense pleasure, being able to bring so much joy and stimulation to young children and adults whose lives were often plagued with pain. The look of wonder and delight on their faces when they found they were able to achieve something that they had only ever dreamed of still brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eyes.

I've also been a one-to-one support assistant for a young boy with Asperger's. This was a very rewarding but challenging role, and I supported the individual until he moved to his next school.

I feel that these experiences give me a unique insight, and so I was ready for another change. I decided that I would like to return to caring for and supporting others.

After my first week, I knew this was something I was going to really enjoy and wanted to progress with my training. I felt very privileged to be able to care for many customers, and this was quickly recognised by the management team as an area in which I was strong.

I'm excited by the prospect of expanding Gracious Care in the Rye and Robertsbridge area.

I particularly enjoy going out to meet new customers and their families, and explaining to them about the services we can offer to support them. The gratitude we receive and the messages of thanks leave you feeling that you really are able to make a difference, and although some days can be tough, it’s heartwarming to know how much better off these customers are now that they have the wonderful care and support of our incredible Gracious Care team.

What more can I say other than I consider myself to be incredibly lucky to be given this opportunity

I started a career as a baker, but after a while, I felt ready for something completely different. I wanted a job that would let me connect with people in a meaningful way. That's what led me to care work.

What I love most about this role is the time I get to spend with the people I support. Hearing their stories and learning from their experiences. It's a privilege to help others live independently in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and in control. I believe in encouraging independence and making sure the people I care for feel supported, comfortable and respected

Another thing I love about this job is working as part of a supportive care team. We all share the same goal - helping people stay safe in their own homes for as long as possible. Knowing I'm part of a team that genuinely cares makes such a difference. I'm really proud of the work I get to do now. I still do baking now, but it's much more enjoyable doing it in my own time
