I am the Service Lead for Blaenau Gwent at New Directions, where I lead with passion, experience, and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional care. My journey with New Directions began in 2014 as a carer, and thanks to the incredible support and development opportunities within the organisation, I’ve proudly progressed through the roles of Senior Carer, Coordinator, and now Service Lead.

My name is Natalie McDougall. I have been working for ND Care and Support for 6 years.

I started my social care pathway as a carer, and I have worked my way through roles such as senior carer and field care supervisor. I was previously a care coordinator for complex community packages, specialising in Palliative and End of Life Care. I have since taken on a new geographical area and am managing the Blaenau Gwent East Homecare Team.

I’m currently working towards my QCF Level 3.

Hi, I’m Jasmine a Care Coordinator for Blaenau Gwent.

I’ve been in the care industry since I was 17. I always wanted to be a nurse so believed that getting experience in care was my first step. When starting my career as a care assistant It opened my eyes to how much of a difference, we are making to people’s lives and how rewarding it is. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories.

I joined New Directions at the beginning of 2023 as a care assistant while I was finishing my degree. While being a care assistant I progressed into becoming a Field Care Supervisor. Being a field care supervisor was such a rewarding role. It allowed me to meet our service users gain knowledge of their wants and needs and be able to help them live their lives as best as they can.

Gaining this experience as a field care supervisor I progressed up to a Care Coordinator, where I am able to have a bigger input into delivering the best service to our service users. I’m very passionate about my role and proud to be a part of the team that delivers such a great service.

I joined the team at the beginning of 2022 as a care worker returning to the care sector following time away to focus on starting my family. Care has always been an important part of my life, and I am deeply passionate about helping others and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

With the encouragement and guidance of the New Directions team in 2025, I have progressed from working as a carer into my current role as Care Coordinator. I joined New Directions Care & Support in late 2024 as a Care Support Worker, supporting a wide range of individuals to maintain their independence and continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

In August 2025, I was promoted to Senior Care Support Worker, where I took on additional responsibilities, including overseeing care calls, supporting colleagues, and ensuring care is delivered in line with each individual's wishes.

In June 2026, I returned to the team as a Field Care Supervisor for Blaenau Gwent West. In my current role, I support both our service users and care staff, helping to ensure high-quality, person-centred care is delivered while providing guidance and support to the team. I am passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives and helping individuals remain as independent as possible in the comfort of their own homes. Read less
