Living overseas, it has been very difficult to navigate the care system in the UK, so I was so relieved to find Right At Home to provide at-home services for my parents. While my father was recovering from surgery, my mother needed someone to help her each day, and to take her to go and visit him. The staff have been amazing, and a huge comfort to all of us. It is such a weight off my mind, being so far away, that my parents are in very professional, caring hands. Can't recommend Right At Home highly enough.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, it is really nice to read that our care and support for your parents goes someway to helping you feel reassured. We are always only a phone call away for you.
The care team management were fantastic at working with us in terms of getting a care plan in place for when she returned home. Additionally mum was excited to return to carers who actually care about her. It made all the difference.
Very pleased overall with the Right at Home team.
We are so grateful for this feedback. It was a priority for our management team to ensure she had everything she needed after such a scary hospital stay. It's wonderful to hear she was happy to see her carers again; please know they were just as happy to have her back! They genuinely care for her,...
Communication in particular has been fantastic.
They are very much open to a personalised approach to needs and see my Mum as an individual, flexing as and when appropriate.
I would highly recommend.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear that the consistency, along with open communication and a personalised approach, has made a positive difference. It's a privilege to support your Mum, and we truly appreciate your recommendations
I am particularly impressed by the quality of service when l have needed last minute cover as my PA has been ill. All the carers I currently have treat me very well and always have time for me even though they work to a tight schedule, they're a great team of ladies
Thank you for your kind words, as you know we always strive to help you as much as we can.
My mother has been under the care of Right at Home ( South Derbyshire and East Staffordshire) for the past 9 months. We are very happy with the quality and level of care provided. She has a small designated Care Team and she very quickly became comfortable and friendly with all of them. She is cared for with respect and dignity. She obviously has her favourites and these carry out the majority of her visits. The organisation is meticulous when it comes to her medications and this is reassuring. When issues do occur necessary action is taken without delay. In summary, we are very happy with Mums carers and I would happily recommend this organisation to any prospective client.
Thank you very much for your kind review. We're pleased to hear that your mother has felt comfortable and well supported by her designated Care Team, and that the care provided has been respectful and reassuring. Our team are very fond of her, and it is a pleasure to care for her. Your feedback means a great deal to both our carers and office team, and we truly appreciate your support
We are so pleased with the care and companionship given to our mother, it really is like leaving her with a family carer. All of our carers are amazing people and really add to the quality of her life. This support is helping us to keep mum at home. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It truly means a lot to us to hear that our carers feel like family and are making such a positive difference to your mum's quality of life. We're honoured to support her in remaining at home and are very grateful for your trust
Fantastic service from the start, we meet with Karren as we have had some bad experiences in the past she reassured myself and my wife, we have now meet all the cares and they all seem fantastic, we receive weekly programme on who is coming and when which is great and to reassure my wife, she now looks forward to the team coming as in the past she used to get up worried.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that your experience with us has been positive from the very beginning. Karen and the whole team work hard to provide reassurance and consistency, especially when someone has had difficult experiences in the past, so it means a...
We are using the company to provide companionship care for our mum. She looks forward to the twice weekly sessions with her two regular carers and enjoys their chats and the activities they do together. It also gives her different things to talk about with us! Another bonus is that it has given us piece of mind on days we are not visiting mum ourselves and the opportunity is there to add on more care if that becomes necessary in the future.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Were delighted to hear that your mum enjoys her time with our carers and looks forward to their visits. Its wonderful to know the companionship brings her joy and gives you peace of mind as well. Were always here to support your family, whether thats continuing with her regular sessions or adding more care in the future if needed.
The staff cared for my aunt for many months until her passing. Friendly service, caring staff. My aunt was very fond of them all. Management updated shifts according to her care needs. Kept me updated at all times of her condition and care.
Thank you for your lovely review. Your aunt was very much loved by the care team, and it was an honour to look after her.
The lady who carries out this duty is lovely, really personable and has a very caring nature. She is also very patient. She's easy to talk to and very keen to please. If there are any problems for her or for me, Right at Home Managers are there to support me instantly.
I didn't realise that the duty of care extends to me as a family member and have found Right at Home brilliant if any problems that are tricky to deal with come up. What a great team.
It's tricky to put somebody else in charge of a family member's care, but this team of people are the team anyone should trust.
Thank you Right at Home - you are my lifeline.
Thank you for your very kind words, we are so pleased that you feel so supported by us. It is an absolute pleasure to look after your Dad.
We had two carers to look after my husband in his final days, they were very kind and gentle with him. They made sure that he was comfortable at all times and kept me fully updated on his condition and the care that was being given. They made the very sad time a lot more bearable for all of the family. I cannot praise them highly enough for their care and support.
Thank-you for your feedback, especially at such a difficult time. we are really pleased to read that the carers not only cared for your husband, but kept you involved in his care too. It was an honour to make this sad time more bearable for you and your family.
The team at right at home are truly fantastic! They treat mum as if she is a member of their family and we can't express how much of a positive impact they have on her life. We have worked with many care companies and there is no other that even comes close to the level of service, care and compassion each and every carer provides.
Thank-you for your feedback. It is so nice to read what a positive impact our carers have on your mum's life. She is a pleasure to care for.
Mom has really valued her care service and is generally very happy. I found that Mom's needs have been well accommodated. Since coming home from the care home, despite still getting confused on occasions, I've certainly since a great improvement in her general well-being. This is largely down to the carer's obvious care and patience. So thank you so much.
Thank you for the kind comments and feedback. We are pleased that our carers are making a difference and improving your mum's wellbeing.
The Care setup requirement was handled very professionally. (Will not hesitate to contact you next time I'm on holiday).
Thank you for your positive feedback. It was a pleasure to care for your mum whilst you had a well-earned rest. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
Generally speaking, very good care and most of the girls are very good, just one or two that are still not wanting to talk in the morning but later in the day are very chatty.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave an honest review. We will follow up with your morning care team and encourage them to be a little more chatty first thing in the morning. I know that they enjoy spending time with you.
The home-help service was brilliant during the time I needed them. Very reliable, always on time. All staff was polite and friendly. 100% recommend the service for anybody who requires a home-help service.
Thank you for leaving us a review, it is always lovely to read how polite and professional the team are. We are so pleased you are feeling much better, but always happy to help you again.
Altogether a happy and delightful experience. A cross-section of age groups run by a very efficient and up-to-date management. A pleasure to deal with and highly recommended.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure to be able to assist you.
We cannot fault Right at Home. They have efficient and friendly staff both out in the field and back in the offices and nothing is too much trouble. My mum is severely disabled and My dad would not be able to cope without Right at Home. The carers look after Mum very well and she seems so happy to be in their company. We have a long stay call once a week which gives Dad much-needed respite to go shopping etc which he would not be able to do ordinarily as myself and my brother live a long way away. We are eternally grateful for the dedication, kindness and respect both Mum and Dad receive. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do.
Thank you for your lovely review, we love supporting your mum, and ensuring that your dad gets his respite. They are both a pleasure to work with.
Before this company, we had another company who were not friendly or professional and didn't help my husband at all, just leaving him lying in bed. Within weeks of these exceptional people coming, they helped him sit up on the edge of the bed and eventually got him sat in a chair, he is now able to get around using his sticks.
We cannot thank every member of staff enough.
Thank you for your very kind words, it is a pleasure to be able to have such a positive impact for both of you.
We are very happy with the care Mum receives from Right at Home. The staff are always cheerful and helpful and willing to listen to Mum’s requests. We have recently requested a change to the hours for Mum's care and the office has quickly accommodated the new timetable. Thank you all.
Thank you for your review, we always try to be responsive to requests and work with your mum to ensure she is comfortable with the necessary changes to her care provision. She is very well thought of by the care team.

John started Right at Home Derby in 2012 and built a strong reputation for delivering quality care in Derbyshire. After repeated requests for support outside this area, John decided to expand operations into Burton and East Staff. The same founding principles that made Derby successful were retained as CareGivers were promoted internally to manage the expanding operations.
Working alongside this dedicated care team, he is passionate about delivering quality care to the people of East Staffordshire (Ashby through Burton and Uttoxeter).
Before Right at Home, John had a successful career with Enterprise. Deciding to spend more quality time with his wife and five young children, John got involved in his local community and became an elected parish councillor in Willington, South Derbyshire.
It was during a community event that John came across an elderly local parishioner who was reliant on care from a contracted provider. The parishioner was looking for help with getting a reliable service provider who would turn up on time, stay for the full time allocated and have some consistency with the care worker they were receiving.
Whilst trying to help the parishioners with their simple request, John realised that their case was not unique and that there were a lot of people who would benefit from a more personalised and quality service.
Determined to make a difference, John decided to use his experience of growing a quality customer-focused business and translate these into the Home Care sector.
John is now an active member promoting choice and personalisation within Derbyshire and Staffordshire and sits on the management committee of Derby Care Association helping providers to improve the care and support for everyone in the region.
John is a recognised Dementia Friends and is training to be a local champion. John also supports Royal Derby Hospitals Dementia Action Group and works with local support group Making Space to help support people within Derby and Staffordshire.
The goal of Right at Home (East Staffs) is simple:
To allow your loved ones to remain in their homes for as long as possible.
In practice, this means:
Turning up on time and at a time that is convenient for the customer.
Travelling in our time and not within the customer's allocated time.
Supplying the same friendly home care assistant on each call.
Each call will ideally last for at least 1 hour.
Each call is built on outcome-based activities to improve the quality of life of the individual.
Away from work, John enjoys spending time with his wife, and golf and is actively engaged in his community developing Neighbourhood Plans and the running of the Council. More recently John has taken the lead on building a new community facility to provide a building for the preschool, scouts, and youth club along with changing facilities for Willington Football Club.
Jodie started with Right at Home Derby in February 2020 when she joined as a CareGiver.
Transitioning from a background in hospitality and catering to the healthcare sector was a significant career shift, but a comprehensive training programme equipped Jodie well for the new challenge.
Jodie quickly adapted to her role and soon realised it was a perfect fit, wishing she had made the switch earlier.
With the support and encouragement of the management team, Jodie embarked on an Adult Care Worker apprenticeship. Initially, Jodie was apprehensive about returning to education after a long hiatus, but the ample time and resources provided helped her manage her studies effectively.
In December 2021, Jodie expanded her responsibilities by joining the recruitment team, where she focused on identifying and onboarding future CareGivers. This experience broadened her understanding of the business and sparked a new interest in social media management.
Jodie began managing the company’s social media accounts, which opened up exciting opportunities to engage with our community in new ways.
By January 2024, Jodie fully transitioned from the recruitment department to her current role as the Digital and Community Marketing Partner for Right at Home Derby and East Staffordshire.
In this capacity, Jodie oversees our business websites, Google pages, and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Additionally, Jodie organises charity events, and coffee mornings, and participates in community activities such as local Women’s Institute meetings, sponsored events, fairs, Warm Spaces and Alzheimer’s Memory Cafés.
