The most reliable company we have used.
The staff are very competent, understanding and friendly.
Since using Right at Home they have never missed a visit.
Many thanks for taking the time to provide such positive feedback. We are so pleased that our caregivers are able to help your wife and that you find our service reliable.
Excellent care has been consistently delivered with passion throughout. Nothing is ever too much and they always meet the needs of my sibling. I would highly recommend this company due to outstanding level of care provided.
Living away from my father and with no other family around, the services of Right at Home have been invaluable. With covid restrictions, the carers have been the only physical company that my father has had. Whilst on their visits, they have arranged Zoom calls so that my father can chat with me and other distant friends and family. I would not like to think how my father could have coped without the regular carers visiting. The online software gives me comfort as I can read who has been and what they have done on each of the calls.
Hi Peter, thanks for taking the time to write a review. Your father really enjoys it when we can connect him with family members. We know how much you value our online care planning software and will continue to develop this for the benefit of you and other families.
I find the carers really help me and I look forward to their visits. The office calls me regularly to let me know what is happening and also to see how I am. I am very happy with Right at Home and would recommend to everyone.
Hi Nic, thank you for taking the time to complete this review. I know that your carers enjoy their time with you and the office looks forward to their weekly chats.
Carers are all lovely and professional, good training from the company. Always chatty and cheerful with Mum, which is important as Mum has sight loss and needs guidance and encouragement. The managers are approachable, listened to family and were flexible with reasonable notice if problems occurred. They also advised us if something needed to change.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the feedback. It has been a pleasure looking after your mum, the carers are very fond of her.
The carers at Right at Home always treat my brother with the utmost respect and care. Both me and my brother are extremely happy with the services received. We love the fact that regular carers come and visit him, rather than different people every time. We have a fantastic relationship with the carers, something that we have not always experienced with other agencies. Keep up the great work Right at Home!
Thank you for taking the time to review our service, we love looking after your brother.
Right at Home have been caring for my dad for a little over a year now and I have to say I am more than impressed by their professional, caring and courteous team. Working together we have managed to keep dad at home, where he wants to be.
Thank you for your review, Marc. We are very dedicated to our Clients and appreciate reviews like yours.
I have been very happy with the care and support my mum has had from all at Right at Home. Having regular visits from a small team of carers meant that she got to know them. The managers were always extremely helpful in adjusting the level of care as it changed and did their utmost to accommodate her needs. It was very reassuring to know that help was only a phone call away. The carers who visited my mum were all very kind and respectful and enabled her to continue to live independently until the time came for her to move into residential care.
Thank you for your kind words, it was an absolute pleasure to enable your mum to stay at home for as long as possible. The care team and ourselves became very fond of her.
I had a few carers to help with the shopping while my husband had to be in lockdown - I had to cancel the ones that came for a bit longer because the doctor told me not to go out because of my husband's illness.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to assist you both.
My carers were lovely and helped me when I needed them.
As this was the first time that I have had to get care in for my 92-year-old mother to allow me to be able to go abroad with some ease, both mother and I found the service excellent from the first meeting with the manager and then the manager and one of the carers and onwards.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure to assist your mother.
The care team were excellent, kind, respectful and very professional. I could not have wished for better help caring for my father and providing support to my mum and myself. I am forever in their debt.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure to assist you all.

John started Right at Home Derby in 2012 and built a strong reputation for delivering quality care in Derbyshire. After repeated requests for support outside this area, John decided to expand operations into Burton and East Staff. The same founding principles that made Derby successful were retained as CareGivers were promoted internally to manage the expanding operations.
Working alongside this dedicated care team, he is passionate about delivering quality care to the people of East Staffordshire (Ashby through Burton and Uttoxeter).
Before Right at Home, John had a successful career with Enterprise. Deciding to spend more quality time with his wife and five young children, John got involved in his local community and became an elected parish councillor in Willington, South Derbyshire.
It was during a community event that John came across an elderly local parishioner who was reliant on care from a contracted provider. The parishioner was looking for help with getting a reliable service provider who would turn up on time, stay for the full time allocated and have some consistency with the care worker they were receiving.
Whilst trying to help the parishioners with their simple request, John realised that their case was not unique and that there were a lot of people who would benefit from a more personalised and quality service.
Determined to make a difference, John decided to use his experience of growing a quality customer-focused business and translate these into the Home Care sector.
John is now an active member promoting choice and personalisation within Derbyshire and Staffordshire and sits on the management committee of Derby Care Association helping providers to improve the care and support for everyone in the region.
John is a recognised Dementia Friends and is training to be a local champion. John also supports Royal Derby Hospitals Dementia Action Group and works with local support group Making Space to help support people within Derby and Staffordshire.
The goal of Right at Home (East Staffs) is simple:
To allow your loved ones to remain in their homes for as long as possible.
In practice, this means:
Turning up on time and at a time that is convenient for the customer.
Travelling in our time and not within the customer's allocated time.
Supplying the same friendly home care assistant on each call.
Each call will ideally last for at least 1 hour.
Each call is built on outcome-based activities to improve the quality of life of the individual.
Away from work, John enjoys spending time with his wife, and golf and is actively engaged in his community developing Neighbourhood Plans and the running of the Council. More recently John has taken the lead on building a new community facility to provide a building for the preschool, scouts, and youth club along with changing facilities for Willington Football Club.
Jodie started with Right at Home Derby in February 2020 when she joined as a CareGiver.
Transitioning from a background in hospitality and catering to the healthcare sector was a significant career shift, but a comprehensive training programme equipped Jodie well for the new challenge.
Jodie quickly adapted to her role and soon realised it was a perfect fit, wishing she had made the switch earlier.
With the support and encouragement of the management team, Jodie embarked on an Adult Care Worker apprenticeship. Initially, Jodie was apprehensive about returning to education after a long hiatus, but the ample time and resources provided helped her manage her studies effectively.
In December 2021, Jodie expanded her responsibilities by joining the recruitment team, where she focused on identifying and onboarding future CareGivers. This experience broadened her understanding of the business and sparked a new interest in social media management.
Jodie began managing the company’s social media accounts, which opened up exciting opportunities to engage with our community in new ways.
By January 2024, Jodie fully transitioned from the recruitment department to her current role as the Digital and Community Marketing Partner for Right at Home Derby and East Staffordshire.
In this capacity, Jodie oversees our business websites, Google pages, and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Additionally, Jodie organises charity events, and coffee mornings, and participates in community activities such as local Women’s Institute meetings, sponsored events, fairs, Warm Spaces and Alzheimer’s Memory Cafés.
