It is heart-warming to read the positive reviews of Laurel Homecare but sadly my friend's experience at the present time is the polar opposite. When Laurel Homecare first started providing services to my friends, the service was as many seem to attest very good, a welcome change to the poor service
offered by previous care providers. Unfortunately, the honeymoon period is over, and the service is failing to deliver the outcomes required. The regularity of last minute let downs, where they cannot deliver the services agreed, has increased, causing anxiety and stress to all involved, and to top it all, when they do turn up, one of their managers believes undertaking domestic chores to support my friends is beneath them, and flatly refuses to complete the tasks asked of them, instead preferring to sit playing on their mobile phone.

We are disappointed to read this review as we have fully supported the client who himself has voiced he has no complaints in relation to the care received. We have discussed this package of care with…read more

Could not have asked for better care staff who were there from the good days right up to the day my dad passed, staff were easy to talk to about things that I couldn’t get my head around and went above and beyond my expectations.

When I leave my husband I feel and know how well looked after he is. The staff are wonderful and the clients are treated with respect which is wonderful. It feels like a lovely warm home and I cannot recommend them highly enough. If all other centres could be like Laurel Homecare Centre how great it
would be for clients. When my husband comes home after his day at Laurel Homecare he is happy and relaxed which is lovely for him and me.

All staff and management are professional yet caring and extremely helpful. Not only do they care for my husband but also give me full support, especially with a challenging illness. My husband thoroughly enjoys his two days week at the Day Centre. He is treated with dignity and a great effort is made
to enable him to partake and enjoy many activities that appeal to him.

My husband attends the Day Centre one day a week for about four to five months. He is picked up and dropped back home. The staff are friendly, competent and my husband appears to have settled and looks forward to going for the day. The staff always tells me how he has got on during the day, and any
concerns they will inform me and visa/versa. They will listen to my concerns I may have and of course, it gives me a day to be able to do lots of things for myself which is greatly appreciated.

My late husband and I have used Laurel Homecare for the past four years and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They go above and beyond and have not only supported me physically but emotionally through some of my darkest days and have truly been my lifesaver.
The staff are second to none and are
a big part of my life and I am so happy that they are supporting me.

Very disappointed with the service and the management of the provision. Communication is poor. There is no clear guidance on what happens if someone they support gets Covid and their policy we were told was not to enter the building if someone has Covid. There are no accessible email addresses on the
website.

I cannot praise Laurel Homecare enough after looking into other places for my husband to go to for day care (he has dementia). When you walk in it has a lovely homely and friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Everything about Laurel Homecare is fantastic. My husband is so content
when I pick him up. I cannot praise them highly enough.
Sorry to repeat myself but its true!.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.467) out of 10 for Laurel Homecare Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.967 for Laurel Homecare Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (29 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 30 Ratings = 4.967
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Laurel Homecare Ltd is based on 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4.5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
