My mum passed 13th Jan 25. I would like to thank all of the staff who supported her when you were her carers.
Thank you so much for sharing such kind words during this difficult time. We are deeply sorry for your loss. It was truly our privilege to care for your mother, and we are grateful to have been able to provide her with the support, dignity, and comfort she needed. Our team appreciates your recognition of their efforts. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts.
My wife and I have been caring for a 94-year-old friend/neighbour for 13 months. The first few months were extremely difficult as we had no care package in place. Eventually, care assistance was provided by Meloosha and they have been outstanding. From the first visit by the Management Team and subsequent daily morning, lunchtime and evening visits the standard of service has been first class. The carers who visit have been wonderful and we have built up a good relationship with all of the carers. Since day 1 it's been a regular group of carers that have looked after our friend/neighbour. I cannot overstate the difference Meloosha have made. The company carry out 6 monthly reviews and they will call me if they have any concerns about our friend/neighbour. For us, it's reassuring to know that the carers are always reporting on the health, both mentally and physically of our friend/neighbour. I have no hesitation in recommending Meloosha Homecare Edinburgh.
We have been with Meloosha Homecare since we first admitted we needed help for Dad. Meloosha have been with us every step of the way supporting Dad and myself. As his needs have increased or changed Meloosha have changed with us and offered us different support options. What I think makes them stand out from other companies I have heard friends and family discussing is that they really care about us and think outside the box. Caring for a loved one is a full-time job and I often 'drop the ball' - running out of milk or forgetting to order medication but they always let me know if I need to do something or if something is running low etc. We usually get the same few carers so they know Dad and can easily spot if something is wrong with him or if he is not right on a particular day. I trust the carers completely and now we have companion visits I can take some time off and relax knowing Dad is in safe hands. I'm so glad we found a reliable trustworthy company that feel like they are on our team!
Thank you for the lovely review! It is nice to hear you think of us as part of your team. Supporting people works a lot better when everyone involved has the same goal. We have been gaining a lot of knowledge from you and your dad following your dementia journey and all the fun activities and days out you experience together.
Meloosha Homecare have always been very helpful in the needs of my 99-year-old Aunt. All I need to do is phone. They are very attentive in the care of my aunt. My aunt is very hard of hearing and can be awkward at times. This does not faze the staff.
Thank you for this lovely review. I will pass this along to the staff.
I have nothing but positives to say about the staff and care supplied to ourselves. They maintain a professional and courteous service and interaction which gives us peace of mind and knowledge that we are completely in safe hands. They also accommodate where possible any changes to hours etc. with the minimum of fuss. Cannot say much more other than keep up the great work.
It is really nice to hear you have peace of mind that you are in safe hands. Thank you for this positive review.
Overall I am happy with most aspects of my care. My only concern is that all of their good to excellent carers seem to be leaving and being replaced by a lot of mediocre ones at best. When a certain carer, for instance, comes breezing in, my day is so much better right away. And when another carer's smiling face peeks around the door, you know the day can't get any better than that. Another few as well but then you get the time fillers and the time wasters that you wouldn't let near you if they were the last people on earth. It says to be honest and I have been. Sometimes communication between the office and the client isn't the best but it usually gets sorted quickly. I personally would like to see more of the ones who know what they are doing and less of the time wasters.
