Helping Hands Home Care (Harlow)

We have been using Helping Hands for my mother for the last couple of years. My Mother passed away in January 2026. We had carers coming in 4 times a day to help her manage getting up and going to bed and help with lunch and dinner.

On the most part we had fantastic carers - that mum enjoyed having in the home. On occasions, we had a carer that didnt click with mum, but a quick phone call and they were not sent to us again. We worked with the team in the office well - the more information you can give the team, the better the care can be April and the team always responded to any issues quickly and professionally.

We did have a large number of carers and this was a little disconcerting for mum... she got a little frustrated trying to explain her routine to each new carer, but we believe we were a little out of their normal zone and 4 times a day was a lot... the team did try their best to give mum the consistency she needed.

I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Helping Hands.

Very friendly team with very efficient staff. The team at Helping Hands enabled my mother to stay in her own home. They attended to her needs, whilst enabling her to keep her independence as long as possible.

Very efficient organisation who sent us carers who understood our needs. Every effort was made to care how my wife wanted and this worked very well. Once the carer was understanding of my wife's needs they soon had her sorted out. Overall the carers did well.

My Husband has had Care from Helping Hands for over 3years now. The ladies that come to him are always kind, considerate and fun for him. This is I am able to go to work 3days a week. he office staff if I have to contact them are always helpful especially April the Manager.

Overall we are very happy with the service and staff of the Company. Every carer that has attended has been very helpful, understanding of the situation and performs all tasks with a friendly and sincere smile.

I recently took on Helping Hands for my elderly mother to help with general cleaning of her home. April who I met was very helpful and ran through everything that was available to my mum and how it all worked. Donna started the following week. Mum really liked her and she did a great job taking on the harder work that my mum can no longer do very well. She now looks forward to her visits.

Helping Hands carers have always provided excellent support, They have covered all the visits required to enable my mother in law to remain independent. The regular reviews are a very useful way to ensure the gradually increasing needs are promptly and properly met. Highly recommend from all of us.

Generally speaking our experience is very positive. My husband loves his regular carers and they are always polite and respectful to me too. The only problems occur when we need relief carers and often we just manage on our own then.

I can't thank the team enough and would highly recommend the company if you are looking for reliable and trustworthy carers with excellent communication.

Helping Hands Harlow are invaluable to me in caring for my elderly parents. I am kept informed by the team which go out of their way to be helpful and build positive relationships with myself and my parents. My parents have daily visits and importantly, they really like and appreciate the help they receive. I feel so supported by the Helping Hands team as I live such a long distance away from my parents. I can not praise Helping Hands highly enough for the care and support my mum has received over the last year. They have made it possible for her to stay in her own home for longer. They have always treated Mum as an individual and shown interest in the stories of her younger life. The daily reports were very helpful. The carers work to a comprehensive care plan, guiding and supporting whenever they can, but stepping in and taking charge when needed. I have met a number of the team and they have all been: friendly, polite, caring and professional. The Branch Care Manager and office staff are readily available to discuss any issues, whether raised by the family, or noted by the carers. If carers have noted a welfare concern, the office will make contact promptly to agree next steps, involving external agencies if necessary. The care package has been invaluable to my parents for personal care, meals and other domestic tasks. It is also very reassuring for the family to know that there will be a daily welfare check, especially on days when we cannot visit ourselves. Thank you Helping Hands!

I would like to say how fantastic all the carers from Helping Hands have been. They are kind, caring and reliable. The carers who have helped look after my Mum and Dad have been absolutely lovely and the help and support they have provided has been invaluable and is very much appreciated. I've been looked after by quite a few care agencies, but Helping Hands is the best by a long way. Carers turn up on time every day. The organisation is run very smoothly and professionally. Care plans are in place and kept to. One of the two things I like the most is that they seem to have bulletproof reliability. The other thing I love about Helping Hands is the quality of their carers. They are friendly, kind and helpful and are able to help me with personal care leaving my dignity intact. Helping Hands are the best of the best!
