In February this year, he was found to have dangerously high blood pressure but was reluctant to go to A &E as the gp wanted. The carer with him at the time managed to persuade him to go with her and she stayed with him until I was able to be there.
Since then, they have encouraged him to take his medication and monitor his BP.
I have nothing other than praise and thankfulness that they are involved in his care.

As Founder and Managing Director of EarlyBird Lifestyle Support, I have dedicated my career to improving the quality of care and outcomes for people who rely on community support. With over 18 years' experience across nursing, residential and domiciliary care, alongside more than 12 years in senior leadership and management, I am passionate about delivering innovative, person-centred services that empower people to live independently.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care, an MA in Health and Social Care Leadership, and a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education, Training and Skills. I am currently undertaking a PhD in Psychology, researching the wellbeing of unregistered community care workers, alongside a Diploma in Counselling Practice. My work combines research, education and frontline leadership to ensure our services remain evidence-based, compassionate and continually evolving.
I am proud to lead an organisation that places quality, dignity and continuous improvement at the heart of everything we do. Alongside my role at EarlyBird Lifestyle Support, I support the wider social care sector through consultancy, education and professional development.
Throughout my career, I have been honoured to receive several national and regional awards, including the Lincolnshire Care Awards Community Care Leadership Award, the Great British Care Awards Registered Manager Award, the Social Care Leadership Awards Social Value Leader Award, and the Lincolnshire Care Awards Workforce Development Award.

As Registered Care and Services Manager at EarlyBird Lifestyle Support, I have been proud to lead our dedicated team for the past four years, having been part of the organisation for over four and a half years. I am passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care that enables people to remain independent, achieve their goals, and live life on their own terms.
