Tim Corry is passionate about helping the community and feels privileged to do that here in Farnham, where he lives with his wife Beth, and two children.
He served 12 and half years in the Royal Air Force, where he was an Officer and Chinook pilot. During his tenure, he learnt a great deal about determination and the tenacity to succeed. His service in the RAF took him around the world, including multiple operational tours. It is this experience, as well as teaching in South America after University that embedded his strong sense of community. When he finished in the RAF, he took the natural career path to become a commercial airline pilot.
Tim came to Home Care during the pandemic through re-engaging as a volunteer in the local community. He took time to re-assess his career and realised that the raison d’etre of service is embedded in his DNA and is his motivation. It’s why he and Alex decided to take the step to become franchise co-owners of the Guardian Angel Carers Farnham branch.
He also reflected on his elderly relatives’ care, including his grandfather, who was fiercely independent and able to remain in his own home until he was 96. It highlighted how well-being and quality of life are so important and led to him wanting to support other people to maintain this.
Tim is versatile, determined and organised – bringing both empathy and consideration to all he does. As he sets out on this new journey, he is looking forward to using all his skills to give-back, feel rewarded, and make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Alex has lived and worked near Farnham for 17 years. He loves it here with his wife Alison, his two boys Guy and Max and their three dogs. He enjoys spending time kickboxing, playing football with his sons, walking the dogs in the countryside and tinkering with cars.
He served in the Royal Air Force for 18 years, predominantly from RAF Odiham. Alex was deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan on operational tours during his service. He’s proud to have been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Force Cross for leadership in the air.
Leadership is something that Alex has gained recognition for, commanding a Squadron during his time in the RAF. Although not a Squadron, he is hugely looking forward to working with the Farnham Home Care branch team to inspire and serve the community. His ethos and communication skills will be a great addition, alongside his rapid decision-making skills, and excellent sense of prioritisation across multiple business areas.
A people person, Alex strongly believes in a client-centred approach to Home Care for a fulfilling, and happy life with care. He also sees that families are finding they can’t care for loved ones as much as they want in today’s busy world and society. To help, he views technology as not just an enabler for safety and efficiency but a way to improve the family links – to ensure the family can be remotely involved in their loved ones care.
Alex’s strong sense of community is clear, and co-owning Guardian Angel Carers home care Farnham branch, will allow him to give back and continue to serve by its side.
As Operations Director, my role is to ensure that people are always at the heart of everything we do. I oversee every aspect of our service to guarantee that each client receives personalised, reliable, and compassionate care. From matching the right carers to everyone’s needs, to ensuring our standards remain second to none, I make it my mission to put people first in every decision. I step in to lead if needed when the business owners, Tim and Alex, are away from the business with the same warmth, integrity, and commitment to excellence they founded the company on, so our clients and their families can have complete confidence that they are in safe, caring hands always. For me, operations aren’t just about running a service; it’s about protecting the dignity, comfort, and well-being of every person we support.
