I started my journey in the care environment in 1998 when I worked in a local care home. I loved meeting people and supporting them, and since then, I worked with young adults with learning disabilities to support them with their independence. I have also worked in the educational environment for young people, children and their families, and although I always loved my job, I felt the need to go back to where I started, so I decided to look for a job where I could support the more mature people. I joined Minster Home Care because I liked the way they were family-run and also their ethos. In late 2021, the company appointed me as a Senior Carer. I love my job and truly thrive from supporting our service users and my colleagues.
After operating a domestic home service franchise for over 20 years in the York and Harrogate area, Dez developed a real passion for care and customer service.
With a further passion for staff recruitment, governance, and marketing, plus experience in operating a very similar business model to domiciliary care, in 2020 he, along with sister Emma, started Minster Home Care as an independent family-run business.
Poppy joined the Minster team in April 2023. Since then, Poppy has gone from strength to strength, beginning as a carer, moving into the office as care co-ordinator, then being promoted to Deputy Care Manager.
Poppy has met the vast majority of our service users.
Lewis joined the company in the summer of 2021 as a Home Care Assistant. Lewis is very passionate about his role and subsequently became a member of the office team in 2023.
Lewis’s role is a hybrid role of caring for clients and working alongside the managerial team, supporting them with various tasks such as compliance and training.
