We cannot fault any of my daughter's carers. They are so good with her, always talking or singing to her, always laughing with her. She is very happy with all of her carers, not like her last care company. The carers are always very clean and smart. We cannot fault any of her carers only praise them
and respect them.
Reply from Emma Ward, Minster Home Care at Minster Home CareI am truly grateful for the feedback you provided. I would recommend Minster Home Care to anyone looking for care!
All the carers are professional and polite and treat my family and property with respect. The management team work closely with me to make any changes I need and are flexible.
They support me with personal care and domestic and shopping
visits. But we also go shopping and swimming together on our social visits which I really enjoy!

Very happy indeed with Minster Home Care; they worked hard to find the right fit of carer(s) for our situation and have been helpful and kind every step of the way. The carers themselves are fantastic and there is nothing more important than getting care that truly means ‘care.’

My mum has just started using Minster Home Care and we have been so impressed with the level of care she has received so far. I’ve had to tweak a few things regarding times and tasks but nothing has been too much trouble when I have requested this.
We weren’t sure how Mum was going to receive care
after being looked after by my late father for so long however she has adjusted so well and has enjoyed the company.
For us as her family, it’s a huge relief.
Keep up the good work it’s so reassuring for us all!

I have found Minster Home Care to be really helpful and responsive. I have been happy with every carer they have sent. As in life, you get on better with some than others! When I have had to ask to change a visit time, they have been very accommodating.
I feel they really do care about me and will
do their very best to meet my needs. I could not have coped without them.
Thank you all very much.

We have recently moved into the area with my mum who needs care, we chose this care company before we moved. The manager from the company came to our house to meet with us and met with my mum and my family. She has gone above and beyond to help in any way she could since moving into our new home. She
has been brilliant and the staff who have come so far to care for my mum have been outstanding and so caring towards my mum, always professional I am so glad we picked this company.

So happy we have found Minster Home Care, we know your client is very happy and looks forward to your visits, all the care team are incredibly kind and patient and arrive at the times stated on the daily plan which helps enormously with her routine, maintains her independence and allows her to stay
in the comfort of her home, which is incredibly important for her well being.
All of this would not be possible without the office team who do an amazing job of setting up this service, planning and coordinating every day and it is so helpful for me to know I always have a direct point of contact, I always feel it is so much more than a job to everyone and that they really do genuinely care.
Thank you so much.

Over all my care has been good, I have a slight problem in that I am a bit deaf and have difficulty understanding some of the new carers but hopefully will learn to cope with different accents. The other problem I have is with how long it takes them to write lengthy reports every day, to the extent
that they no longer complete the tasks formerly completed within the hour. Apart from these two niggles I am very happy with the standard offered.
Reply from Emma Ward, Minster Home Care at Minster Home CareThank you for taking the time to leave a review. Your feedback is highly valued, and we are grateful for the opportunity to improve our service. At our organisation, we strive to provide the best possible care for our clients. One way we achieve this is by investing in cutting-edge technology that assists our carers in recording their daily notes.
Your specific feedback regarding the time it takes for carers to record their notes is particularly helpful. We understand the importance of providing timely and accurate notes to ensure our clients receive the best possible care. We are currently exploring ways to shorten the time it takes for our carers to take notes without comprising the quality and integrity of their work.
Again, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We take all feedback seriously, and we are committed to providing exceptional care to our clients.

This review covers the last 12 months. The quality of the service provided depends very much on the carer involved at each visit. Some are compassionate and others are simply task-driven. Communication between management and staff, and staff to staff is poor to average. I have spoken to carers who do
not know why we have asked them to do something when we have discussed this with management and they undertook to brief carers. If we raise a concern, management always appears to be playing catch up, never ahead of the curve. It is not unusual to have to ring up and ask again for carer to be reminded to do something that has long been part of the expected delivery from carers. Management are poor at giving feedback when we have asked them to investigate a reason something was not done or done. Information on corrective action carried out is seldom provided. Too many introductions of staff who lack dementia training.
Reply from Emma Ward, Minster Home Care at Minster Home CareThank you for your review. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to all of our clients and take all feedback seriously. We want to assure you that we investigate all complaints thoroughly and provide feedback whenever requested.
Our staff members are highly trained in dementia care, and we are proud of their expertise and commitment to our clients. We believe that building strong relationships with our clients is essential to providing the best possible care, and we are fortunate to have a high retention rate among our staff.
We understand that every client is unique, and we are committed to tailoring our care to meet individual needs. We continuously seek ways to improve our communication methods to ensure that our clients receive the support they need.
Thank you again for your review, and we are grateful for any constructive feedback or ideas you may have on how we can improve our service.

The majority of care workers are very good with Mum, taking care of her needs and engaging with her and she looks forward to them coming and keeping her company. Because mum has dementia, we have had to put all electrical appliances away out of her reach meaning care workers have to lift the microwave
out of the pantry to prepare a meal. There are a few care workers who I think find this to be too much trouble and will take the easy option of making a sandwich rather than preparing a hot meal.
Therefore there are some days when mum doesn't have something substantial to eat.
Having said this, while I was away at Christmas Mum was well cared for by one care worker in particular who will search through the cupboards and freezer and make a meal. This care worker will use food up in date order so that nothing is wasted, however quite often this doesn't happen with some of the other care workers and a lot of food is wasted and thrown away.
The office staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Reply from Emma Ward, Minster Home Care at Minster Home CareWe are thrilled to receive your feedback about the care provided to your mother. We are pleased to know that the majority of caregivers have met your expectations. However, we understand that trusting and comfortable relationships with caregivers are vital, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We assure you that every concern you raise is taken seriously, and we will strive to ensure your satisfaction with all aspects of our service.
Your positive feedback about the care provided to your loved one during the Christmas period has been passed on to the staff member responsible, and we are delighted to have met your expectations. We believe that feedback is essential to improving the quality of care we offer, and we are committed to continuously improving our service.
We are currently working on enhancing the nutrition and meal preparation aspect of our service, as we recognize the importance of proper nutrition to your loved one's health and well-being.

We are pleased with the carers coming in all weathers. They are very civil and Mum likes them too.
The carers give me good advice and are helpful, they advise on appropriate clothing and general care for Mum; she likes a bit of company besides me, I understand she needs a change now and then. I appreciate
them coming twice a day. They have helped with many issues and presently have suggested a podiatrist to clip her toenails, and I could mention many more instances of care and help but have not the time tonight.
To sum up: we are very pleased with Minster Home Care and wish them all the best for the future.

many thanks,

Minster Home Care has been amazing at looking after my friend who is struggling with Alzheimer's. They have consistently kept to their allotted times which has been great to try and keep to a routine. The carers have all been so kind and respectful and have been very quick to let me know about any problems.
The management team are wonderful. They really embraced my feedback and made sure that care was tweaked when needed to provide the best possible support at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. Sadly, my friend had to go into hospital at the end of last year and has now moved into long-term care. It has been lovely how the team have still kept in touch to ask how she is doing and wanting to know that she has settled in.
We tried four other agencies before finding Minster. I wish we had found you first!
Thank you for all of your help and support, it has been a pleasure working with you.

My mum has had a few medical issues that have affected her confidence. She is determined to stay independent however and to continue enjoying life at the sheltered housing association where she lives. We decided to engage Minster Home Care to help my mum - initially with her morning routine and also
around dinner time. We initially met the senior compliance lead who was both friendly and professional - she immediately put my mum at ease and was thorough in understanding her situation and the care she needed. Importantly, she also took the time to get to know my mum as a person and how she likes to spend her time and the things that are important to her. The carers who have attended have all been great and we have seen a big improvement with my mum. The communication between the manager, the senior client engagement lead and the senior compliance lead has been great and I know I have someone to speak to if I have any concerns. I would definitely recommend Minster Home Care.

Our experience of Minster Home Care was outstanding from beginning to end, from the modest input at the start to the intensive support at the close. The care and dignity with which Mum was treated, by each and every member of staff was wonderful and uplifting. They could not have done a better job,
nor could they have been nicer people. In the beginning, Mum wasn't sure of what to expect and was anxious about how things would work out. She had been a very independent and self-sufficient woman all her life. All of her initial concerns were unfounded, she was delighted with the people themselves and everything they did for her. And their support allowed her to remain at home, in familiar surroundings, which was one of her dying wishes.
The emotional support afforded to Mum's family was also exceptional. Just a few words each day to check they were okay was so appreciated. And someone was always available in the office to answer questions which was very helpful.
We are so grateful for everything that Minster Home Care did for our mum, please extend our deepest gratitude to all your staff who cared for her.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Minster Home Care is calculated as follows: ( (30 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 30 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Minster Home Care is based on 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4.5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
