Poplar Care

Poplar Care supported my mother in her home from the April until August 2026. They attended for 30mins-1hr every morning to help her organise medication, shower, have breakfast etc. Joyce and her team were reliable, professional and showed a great deal of resilience - my mum is confused and very hard of hearing, which can be a challenging combination. Joyce was very easy to contact and always responded positively and effectively. A special mention should go to Abigail, who was particularly kind to mum. The carers would phone me if there was a particular issue, such as medication running low, and this was a great help. Poplar Care provided an excellent service and I am most grateful to them.

For many years I have been used to looking after myself so it has been difficult for me to need help from others but the carers had me feel comfortable and at ease.

I hope I can continue with this group for as long as I need them. It also gives my family peace of mind as they live some distance away.

I found the carers to be polite and helpful. They were very keen to preserve the dignity of my relative. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Their manager was also very easy to deal with and helpful.

My dad was cared for by Poplar Care staff until he transferred to a hospice. Without the excellent care provided, we couldn’t have managed to care for Dad at home. They were consistent, kind and knowledgeable, I felt Dad was being looked after very well and was in safe hands at the end of his life. I cannot recommend them highly enough, they did an absolutely amazing job. Thank you so much for supporting our family during a very challenging time.

All the carers provided by the Poplar Care team have been exceptionally caring and kind to Mum, even when she has been difficult to deal with. They have provided all the essential care she has needed and always with smiles on their faces. One thing that would be beneficial though, is to have all the teams caring for Mum use the same system that we also have access to (so we can see what has happened).

The carers for my dad at end-of-his life were exemplary in every way. They showed so much respect to a very private independent man, ensuring his dignity remained intact at all times. It meant so much that the same carers came for each visit, they quickly and professionally built a gentle compassionate rapport with the whole family.

My mum was cared for by their carers. Mum, before her passing away, said 'I've got the best carers ever.' They looked after our mum with real passion and were very caring and gentle. Our mum had cancer and declined very quickly.

My grandad also appreciated how the staff still afforded him his dignity and were always patient and understanding at all times while helping him through challenging tasks and with his medication, changing etc. Our whole family appreciates your help.

The care my mother received, although it was only for just over a week, was excellent. All the care team were great except for the Director who was outstanding. I would be more than happy to recommend this company to anybody.
