Overall Experience

Mum is receiving two visits a week at the moment from Bluebird care primarily for a bit of company and also to carry out little jobs she wants done. She was anxious about these visits but felt reassured after her initial visit from office staff and then meeting the girls. All staff are kind, polite, cheerful and happy to help mum in any way they can. The schedule of visits provided weekly works well as mum knows who is coming. Any issues are quickly addressed and I feel confident I would be contacted if there were any concerns regarding mum which gives the family peace of mind.

Started using Bluebird Care just over 6 months ago to help care for mum who has dementia. Bluebird carers go into mums daily for evening visits for companionship/dispense medication/settle mum for the evening and it has been the best decision we have made.
The carers are kind, compassionate and extremely helpful and mum looks forward to their nightly visits.
I've been able to contact Bluebird Supervisor at any time during the last 6 months to "tweak" mums care visits as she progresses on her dementia journey.

I would highly recommend Bluebird Care.

The administrative staff from Bluebird Care Ayrshire have been courteous, professional and eager to provide support since I first made contact with them. Arranging the carers for my Mum proved straightforward, even with me living overseas.

My Mum has only positive things to say about the carers themselves, describing them as friendly, attentive, thoughtful, and always helpful. They provide any support or help she requires, taking the time to listen, and have a friendly chat.

2-3 different carers in this month which Dad finds disruptive, however previously had had the same carer. The regular carer was on annual leave at this point.
My Dad feels that one (April) carer was a little careless (one of the vertical blinds was damaged and a mark was left on a skirting board whilst hoovering). The carer did show Dad the broken plastic cord. Dad felt this particular carer was not very communicative.
There was one episode when the carer arrived late (As My Father remembers and the supervisor confirmed there had been a change in the arrival time but Dad was not told)
However the normal carer that is now back from her holiday, (for May) is very dependable, reliable, helpful, very cheery which Dad loves.

The below star rating is for April (and would be different for May)

Dad has recently been receiving home care assistance with morning routine and evening mealtime, which has been going extremely well .
As a family we thought he may object to the help as he has been a relatively independent individual, however after a few falls his confidence has deteriorated.
Bluebird has made this transition possible with there ease of implementation and the carers are so professional and helpful and Dad feels very relaxed and comfortable with their assistance.

As a family, we could not have wished for a better outcome, thank you so much Bluebird.

My mum is a recent client and she really enjoys the attendants visits and the conversations she has with them.

The arrangements are helpful with a list of attendants provided that is updated weekly so she knows who to expect day by day.

Mum reports she has felt cared for, listened to, supported and safe with her carers from Bluebird Care. Also stated she has not felt "rushed" to complete her tasks and enjoyed their company and chat. I felt her carers were especially good at helping to create and maintain a homely atmosphere while respecting her space. The management team were always on hand with information and advice, providing a flexible person-centred care plan and responding quickly to any concerns raised.
One improvement would have been to be able to provide visit times in line with the usual routines Mum had for meals and medications. Unfortunately, as is widely reported, there is a chronic shortage of care staff all over the country and this is not a reflection of the overall care provided by all Bluebird staff involved in Mum's care.

We are both very appreciative and thankful for all your help and support.

Reply from Nicole Clarke, Marketing Manager at Bluebird Care Ayrshire
