Home Instead Preston & South Ribble

The team @ Preston and South Ribble are the only reason that my aunt was able to live out her life at home as she had aways wanted to. The care given by both the day staff and those who cared live in.

We are hugely grateful for the way that the Preston Home Instead team have worked closely with us to put in place the best care package for our mother who has complex needs. The carers have all been dedicated professionals who have treated our parents with respect, warmth and care. The management team are approachable and keen to problem solve together where needed. My husband diagnosed with mixed dementia a year ago. Not knowing what to expect, I contacted various groups, including Home Instead, for support. As my husband has only short term memory loss at this stage, I only require minimal support. I am extremely happy with the service provided and am impressed with being included in social meetings as well.

Carers are very compassionate and caring. They listen and join in any activities.

I was very nervous about the prospect of having strangers in my home but I need not have worried as all the carers are lovely and worked hard to relax me. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile and laughter. They help keep my house clean and tidy, help with washing my hair when I needed it, help with the laundry and bedding changes, putting the grocery delivery away, .... the list is endless. Having carers has helped enormously and taken the strain off my son and DIL who both work full time. It also has taken away my worry of feeling a burden to them.

On leaving hospital and rehab after several weeks my family arranged for Home Instead to help my recovery. I can honestly say the staff have been absolutely wonderful, always prompt, reliable, friendly and willing to help me in every way, towards my successful recovery. Thank you everyone.

My experience with Home Instead is proving to be extremely beneficial, as my companion is imaginative in her choice of activities, which we carry out together. Including on good weather days, we explore our local surroundings, which are of wide interest to both of us. On bad weather days; there are a large number of board games in my house. We are both learning & teaching each other, asd we play, which proves much pleasure & lots of laughter. My Home Instead companion is always friendly & considerate. We get on well together & I am thankful that Home Instead matched me so well with this companion; we are enjoying our friendship.

Home Instead continue to provide excellent, professional and comforting care for my mother at her home in Preston. The carers who attend her are all professional, experienced and very kind and have become an integral part of helping to manage the daily lives of my elderly parents. The service is well managed and organised and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Home Instead for care in the home.

Excellent service and care for my parents over the last twelve months. Home Instead have been accessible at all times on the end of a phone and have been really flexible with our changing care needs. Big thanks to the manager. I have recommended to two other friends who have informed me they are also very happy with the care and service from Home Instead.

We have used Home Instead for two years to visit my mother on a daily/twice daily basis. In the main the same group of carers have looked after mum, clearly with some changes along the way as staff have come and gone. That said, the level of consistency has been really good. The carers have helped with housework, preparing meals, personal care and laundry. They have always been extremely professional and kind with mum. Recently the level of care required increasing at short notice prior to mum needing to go into a nursing home. The request was accommodated immediately. A different kind of nursing care was required and we were most impressed with this, having not had exposure to this side of the Home Instead offering before.

The management team have always been available when we have had queries and where we have occasionally raised issues, these have been dealt with promptly.

Pricing is perhaps at the higher end of the scale, but our experience was that it was worth it.

My experience over the past 11 months has been very good. I still do not find it easy having someone in my home, but my carers are understanding and helpful. Also, I have been fortunate to have had the same ladies on a small rota so can class them as friends.

All my carers have been absolutely great, they really are very caring. While they are with me they will do any jobs, like ironing, cleaning, going with me for a walk or just sitting and having a chat. I would certainly recommend them to others who need help and assistance.

Would highly recommend it.

The scheduling and administration staff I am in contact with are also very helpful, but I do have an issue with the lack of communication with the senior management who seem distant and unresponsive. I have had a couple of issues recently, which were not addressed in what I would consider a satisfactory manner, in that I did not receive any follow up contact.

Home Instead have been providing care for just over 12 months to my elderly friend. Now that a regular routine has been established the service they provide is of a high standard. They have worked with me to ensure that all the requests we have made have been accommodated and we are now happy with a regular team of care professionals who work hard to support my elderly 93-year-old friend who suffers with Alzheimer’s. We benefit from a care provider who is now the most regular one to visit; we really appreciate her and the rest of the team’s care and support. They ensure any changes or concerns are fed back to me for attention. The other carers are also of a great standard and following a fall when my friend was home alone they were quick to get me involved. As a result of the fall, my friend also needed additional visits which Home Instead sorted quickly and efficiently, having carers in place for temporary nighttime visits without any hassle.
