Otter staff are superb in every way. They are kind, and really understand what being caring carers means. I often wonder how you find and recruit such people. As they all do such a wonderful job, the management team listens well and responds to texts and calls and is extremely reliable. The physio and OT have liaised with management and care staff as my recovery has progressed so that I have great team around me. I can recommend Otter. They have genuinely helped my recovery and well being.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's wonderful to hear that you feel well supported by the team, and that everyone involved in your care is working well together. We're really glad to be part of your recovery, and we'll keep doing everything we can to support you. Thank you for choosing Otter.
We used this company for a few months and had persistent issues with the standards of care. They often gaslighted us on matters arising and claimed that our standards for care were too high. Namely:
1.Errors in the giving and handling of medication twice
2.Clothes not being changed daily - last weekend the same clothes were on 3 days and, I understand, his clothes haven't been changed this week so far
3.His hair not being rinsed properly (leading to a form of eczema) and combed
4.Often his teeth not being cleaned properly
5.Often not being shaved properly
6.Often his hearing aids not being put in properly
7.At least twice his bed being made leaving a wet kylie in it and wet pyjamas being left on the ottoman once and his pillow last week
8.He was left with a lap tray on his lap
9.Today, he was left with a microwave bowl to be sick in instead of a bowl from the bathroom or kitchen and we weren't advised that he was feeling unwell
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear this was your perception of the service. As a care provider, we take confidentiality seriously, so we cannot discuss individual circumstances publicly. We do, however, take all feedback seriously and use it to review and strengthen the care we provide....
they don't just do the basics , but will help out with anything, my wardrobe sorted thanks to D.able to have a shower almost unaided thanks to C.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're so pleased to hear how well the team has supported you and the positive difference this has made at home.
The Otter Home Care staff were incredibly kind and considerate in all their dealings with me and my stepmother. They provided a very good and reliable service for a few weeks after she had been unfortunately hospitalised, helping to ease her back into her normal life again once she had been discharged. I was extremely grateful for their support and will definitely return to them if and when we need support again in future. Thank you!
I cannot recommend Otter Home Care highly enough: we used them to provide care for my elderly dad. Their level of care was excellent, the carers were always on time and were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for this care provider. As a family we cannot praise them enough.
Thank you for your kind review. It's great to know that our team's care and reliability made such a difference for your Father and the family.
Everyone willing, helpful and friendly.
Thank you very much for taking the time to post this review it is much appreciated.
The care offered from Pam of Otter Home Care to mum and dad has been most exceptional and she has always gone above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble and she is always the first to offer assistance before it's asked. She is such a gentle and caring soul and has been a godsend for my parents. Dad took to her straight away and she has been extremely professional and supportive to his care needs. She has also been flexible in changing the days to suit our requirements and visited dad when he was in the care home. She is a brilliant piece of mind for mum and they both trust her implicitly. We all really appreciate having Pam in our lives.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been our pleasure to support your parents during this time.
The Otter team have been amazing with my mother who with vascular dementia, did not believe she needed help. In very complicated circumstances they were able to check twice a day that she was safe and persisted despite her resistance. Using some excellent care techniques they were occasionally invited in and full care could be provided. This provided the whole family with regular assurance that she remained safe and coping as best as possible. The team's persistence, patience and kindness were exemplary and I would highly recommend them as a company.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's been a privilege to support your mother, and we're so glad our team could help during such a challenging time. We're really pleased to know that our persistence and support made a difference and gave your family peace of mind. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we're always here if you need anything else.
I am completely satisfied with the care given to my husband who has dementia and me, his primary carer. Everyone I have seen has gone the extra mile and for me at this extremely difficult stage of his quickly diminishing control it has been a God send. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting us to support your husband.
Excellent.
The daily care professionals attending to Mum have been exemplary. Lovely, kind and patient with Mum and communicative with us when Mum has had difficulties, they provide medication, nutrition assistance and companionship. The app is invaluable in providing information regarding each visit so that we can be reassured that Mum is in good hands. In addition to daily visits, Otter Homecare professionals have accompanied Mum on visits to local Alzheimer's Society café events and other excursions when family members have not been available. The care professionals have been brilliant in transporting Mum and encouraging her to join in with musical activities, bingo and quizzes which she thoroughly enjoys. Otter's ongoing support to Mum is an integral part of helping her and us cope with this devastating condition.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are honoured to support your mother and very happy that our Care Professionals have brought comfort to her and reassurance to you. We are glad the app provides peace of mind, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive difference. Thank you for choosing Otter Homecare.
It is difficult to make a long review as we only see a carer twice a week for one hour each time.
Perhaps when we require more help in the future we can expand on our comments.
Thank you so much for your review. Our care professionals always look forward to their visits with you!
Very pleased with the service. The cleaner is always on time and gives an excellent house clean. She checks what needs special attention and pays close attention to all areas. Thank you for an excellent service.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been our please to support you.
Came to this company for home care for my mum on the recommendation of another user who said how caring and compassionate they are. I feel very much at ease knowing my mum is in safe hands and also the relationship she has built with them. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much for these kind words. It has been a pleasure looking after your mother and we are grateful for the opportunity you gave us.
