I am hugely grateful to the Pocklington team of Home Instead. It is a really well run branch and we have had outstanding service to help support and look after my aunt in her own home. She is an individual who has really benefitted from the extra care and skills brought by the Home Instead care team,
including their own very well developed backgrounds in care and other relevant life-skills. These extra aspects have helped my aunts wellbeing greatly over and above the excellent practical care such as helping her cook and keep on top of the house.
Massive thanks to all the team at Home Instead Pocklington!

My mother and myself have been delighted with Home Instead. The carers have been excellent. So caring and kind. They always carry out all tasks thoroughly and are respectful of my mothers needs and adapt to her wishes on the day. From my point of view I find the app so reassuring, being able to read
how my mum is each day. The staff always reply promptly to my e mails and inform me if there are any issues that I need to be made aware of. She provides regular reviews where my mum is able to say how she wants any tasks etc added or changed. At last I feel reassured that my mum is able to remain at home with a great team who care for her so well. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to stay in their own home and for family members it is so lovely to know they are in safe hands. Thank you so so much.

We have ben very pleased with the service we have had from Home Instead. All the care staff are very professional and caring. They are very well trained before they start. They always come at the same time and it is a pleasure to see them arrive every morning to help my husband, who has Huntington's
Disease, shower and dress. They involve him in decisions and encourage him to talk. I particularly like that we have the same staff as consistency and routine are important to my husband. I enjoy the conversations with them too.

From the moment we contacted Rebecca to talk to her about moving in my sister in law to our home , she and her team have been there every step of the way to guide and advise us on all aspects of care , equipment needed etc. The care package is truly tailormade for every individual , it also takes into
account how other family members are feeling , and what steps the care team can take to assist us all in the very difficult transition period to looking after a poorly family member in the home environment. The team are usually are the same on Rota every week thus allowing us to build a relationship with them, they are allows cheerful and speak very highly about the company they work for, that is a huge comfort to know they are happy and looked after by their employers.

I have been pleased with all the carers involved in my husband's care. They have been kind, friendly, respectful, encouraging and engaging him in conversation. It always puts a smile on his face when they arrive. I also appreciate the kindness and consideration towards me.

Home Instead have been carers for my 99-year-old mother in law for the past ten months. She suffers with memory problems but they have always been patient and understanding with her. I have found them to be honest, professional and caring. I would highly recommend them.

My mum was so worried and got very upset when I tried to talk to her about having carers. She soon realised after meeting them that we couldn't have asked for a better team of caring, friendly happy people. My mum thinks they're all wonderful.


I've definitely noticed a change in her for the better.

She's so much happier and eating and loving the company including playing snakes and ladders. I now don't drive the 75 miles home feeling so guilty. Her house has gone from been eerily quiet to now being full of laughter and chatter and of course cups of tea.

Needing a carer can be a difficult decision to make. Allowing a stranger into your home. It's only been a few weeks since I contacted Home Instead and was introduced to my carer, and it was the best decision. Not only do they care for your needs but also help to keep the your home as you like it.
My carer is kind, empathic to my needs . She has taken time to understand my needs and often goes about doing a job without asking but knowing that it is what I needed. The back up to the system is invaluable. Knowing the if your carer cannot attend an appointment another carer will placed with you. They try very hard to make sure that the carer has a similar personality to your own so that the working relationship blends together.
I cannot praise the Home Instead/ Homecare enough. Always on the end of the telephone line if needed.

A company that actually cares.
Home Instead were fantastic with my Grandad (Gramps). The team managed to put in place a structure that really suited Gramps and meant we were able to keep him at home for his final months.
It made a huge difference to me and my Granny, knowing that the carer's actually
cared.
Can't sing their praises enough, a really caring care company.

Home Instead are an excellent and reliable company with caring staff. It was really important to us that the carers are a small team and the two girls have now built a relationship with Mum. We hope this will continue and as she’s going into her 98th year we can continue to keep her at home.

Hi, I’m Mandy, the Managing Director of Home Instead in the Pocklington & Brough area. I was born and raised in the U.S., then married a Yorkshireman so have lived in the UK since 2005. After many years of working in the financial services sector, I was very eager to find a way to do something that would benefit my community and so in 2019 I started Home Instead in Beverley & Hull. We've grown quickly since then and have had the privilege of working with some wonderful clients and their families.
In 2023 we took the decision to expand our services out into the Pocklington and Brough areas, serving the communities from the edge of Hull to the edge of York.


We're delighted to be able to bring the outstanding standard of care provided by Home Instead to more people throughout the region.
