Overall Experience

Some carers are good/great. But there are some who are incompetent. Some show no care and want to be out as quick as possible, covering bare basics. A particular carer has weekly sickness, days off, causing regular changes in times and calls. Company seems to of declined drastically.

Overall, very pleased with your carers
All seem very polite and assist my wife in all her personal needs.
My wife also feels comfortable with ladies that come three times a week.

Always have a positive experience when calling the agency. They listen and carry out any instructions. Staff are kind.

It is a great relief to be able to rely on the support of Homelium carers in looking after my husband. I understand that it is probably inevitable that last-minute changes have to be made to the timetable, but we would appreciate notification of them if possible.

This is a life saver ensures my husband is comfortable and safe allowing me visit my daughter and to be out and about a little more
My husband was not keen on having carers come in when I mentioned it but during the home visit the staff member was excellent and handle his somewhat odd sense of humour and dislike of being a patient beautifully

Very happy with the hole service from the initial interview and the staff sent out to help my mother. always turning up on time and giving my mother the time she needs and explaining what they are doing.

Overall Experience

The team of carers have been amazing at providing the care needs of my Mother, who suffers with Early-Onset Dementia. The carers that visit her to provide support 4 times a day always have a smile on their face and provide my Mother with not only the care she needs, but also the conversation and laughs that someone living on their own can't do without. This leaves me feeling assured that she is being cared for during her illness. The team is also always on hand to facilitate extra needs that need to be put in place, and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend Homelium to other families that might be facing what ours is.

I have been given limited time and the carers have been tremendously supportive, good-humoured, and professional and leave me feeling at ease. My 3 calls a day are a positive experience. I have not and will not hesitate to recommend Homelium to all my friends and family.

My husband has carers three times a day and Homelium is proving to be a professional, reliable, caring company.

I would readily recommend them. There are very experienced carers who are happy to go the extra mile. Any queries or problems are dealt with. They seem to understand the stress involved in families coping with long-term illness. Thank you Homelium.

Overall Experience
My mother has Homelium care four times a day and I provide all other domestic duties/care for her. Recently due to a major operation, I was unable to provide this regular care to Mum and was so worried about how I could sort this. Loraine at Homelium helped liaise with me and put in place extra help. The girls are brilliant and have really put Mum at ease and it has allowed me to recover knowing all is running smoothly. I don’t know what Mum/I would have done without them.

Just wanted to say how happy we are, me and my mother, for the care that has been provided to her since we started using what is now Homelium in April 2023. The carers are attentive and punctual and there's a consistency of carers that my mother really appreciates.
I don't like to name carers as they all do a fantastic job but in particular, I must single out one staff member as somebody particularly special that Mum and I are always super happy to see. She has the utmost professionalism and such a wonderful nature and optimism and always goes above and beyond what is required of her.
The ladies on the admin side also deserve special mention for always keeping me informed of any changes and are flexible when it is needed.

Homelium have been coming into my aunt for some time now. The caregivers have all been fantastic.

One lovely lady in particular has been amazing. She goes above and beyond on every visit. Nothing is too much. My aunt is very fond of this carer, as am I.

We have been using these ladies for a few weeks now and they are amazing so very helpful and caring my dad absolutely loves them. I would highly recommend them, they take time to sit and chat with my dad and really care about him, they even called me when they thought he was a bit down one day, really lovely team.

Loraine Mayes

I found my calling in the care industry over 15 years ago when my mum and I became the primary caregivers for my dad, who was battling stomach cancer. That experience changed my perspective on life, and I knew I wanted to give back to vulnerable individuals who might not have the support they need. I stumbled upon a local ad for a new care company just starting out, and within a week I was not only providing care but also taking on the role of the company scheduler!

One of the things I cherish most about my role is building connections with our amazing team of carers. A happy carer makes for a happy manager, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each person on our team. As for our clients, witnessing the positive impact our care has on their lives and the gratitude from their families is incredibly rewarding. It brings me joy to know that we make a difference in someone’s well-being.

When I’m not immersed in the world of care, you might find me reminiscing about my favourite travel destination- the Isles of Scilly. It’s a breathtaking place that feels like a slice of the Caribbean right across from Cornwall! If you were to catch me on a karaoke night (which doesn’t happen often) I might belt out “I will survive.” It perfectly captures the rhythm of my busy life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
