Following my return from hospital I used the live in care for a week and then two visits a day for a further two weeks until I was confident I could manage safely on my own. The carers were wonderful and it was lovely having the same carer every visit. The company were very good and happy to discuss my needs and all concerned were brilliant. My Mother has late stage Altzheimers, needing full time care in all aspects of mobility/personal care. My Father at 81yrs was unable to cope but extremely reluctant to bring in outside help. Even with a large family rallying round, we were at breaking point. The manager put me at ease from word go. She was professional/caring and so understanding. She fine tuned a care plan, taking a hands on approach to ensure that both my parents needs/care were met with kindness/politeness and respect . She has trained and slowly introduced other carers so that dad is comfortable and relaxed about accepting help. Radfield Home Care is so adaptable in adding/cancelling shifts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We, as a family, are now able to take a step back/take holidays, knowing Mum and Dad are in good hands. Their help and advice has been invaluable in enabling us to keep mum at home, safe/comfortable and where she belongs. I absolutely, 100% recommend them without hesitation.

Pam is an experienced care sector professional who began her care journey as a care assistant and is now an experienced care service manager. Now, Pam is using her impressive experience to provide an exceptional home care service to her local communities in Bedford.
Pam holds qualifications in Leadership, health and social care and has worked through challenging circumstances. The COVID-19 pandemic presented a major challenge for the UK care sector that Pam faced head-on.
Motivated by a desire to help older people lead fulfilling and happy lives, Pam has been inspired by how transformative quality care can be. Thanks to her in-depth experience, Pam understands that everybody’s needs and requirements are different and that exceptional care must be bespoke. She also knows that great care requires a holistic approach with input from the client, their loved ones and their healthcare professionals.
We would like to introduce you to Joanne Lewis, Care Manager for Radfield Home Care Bedford & Ampthill. Joanne is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office and ensuring that the service is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led.
Joanne worked in a children’s residential home for 4 years followed by working in a hospital for mental health with adults for 2 years. She then spent 2 years in supported living services for all ages, and then a further 4 years in a joint supported living and residential setting focused on autism and challenging behaviour for adults over 18. Joanne soon moved into operations management for 2 years in a hospital mental health setting and the NHS, where she managed a team from various companies to support the elderly in their homes.
With her team management experience and many roles she has had in the care sector, Joanne can confidently and effectively provide care in the community for those needing assistance.
