Dear Wendy. Thank you for your kind words. It is a privilege to be able to look after your father-in-law. We don't fault him for being grumpy at times. It cant be easy being in his situation, especially for someone who has been very active all their lives like himself. So we totally understand where his emotional state can be at times and that he also cant help feeling grumpy. We always aim to ensure that each client has consistent Carers. Yes, we have had some "teething problems" but as one says, it is how we deal with the problems that makes a difference, and how we allow ourselves to learn and produce a best practice for the benefit of everyone that matters most. Thank you for listening to us and for working with us to get the best results for your parents. They are a lovely couple and are blessed to have each other into their old age. Carer consistency is a very important part of our care strategy. We focus on relationship building rather than just getting a task done. We have noticed that clients benefit more from having a relationship with their Carers as they feel understood. In the same way, they Carers as well do benefit from having that relationship which makes them feel appreciated knowing that they are actually having a positive impact in the client's life. Dear SallyThank you for the kind words. Your Mum is lovely. She is amazing. She really is a Mum first. She calls me just to find out if I am ok. It really warms my heart. Yes, she can be stubborn and uncooperative, but then again, who doesn't get those moments. Lol. We all have our moments, don't we. Through understanding her, we know how to deescalate and calm her down to ensure that by the time we leave, she is feeling better and happy again.
