GoodOaks Homecare - Isle of Wight

From my first meeting with the assistant manager to discuss a care package for my partner, upon hi s discharge from hospital, I felt that the company were professional and caring. We started end of March with 2 weeks of a live in carer. Not knowing what to expect I basically went along with the carer assigned for the first week. However, the carer for the second week was far more engaging with me and my partner, assisted more with the household chores and I felt gave greater attention to his needs. The arrangement was then changed for my partner to have an hour of personal care every morning and a sitter for an additional three hours three days a week. This to date has worked very well with the only comment that the carer detailed on the weekly rota provided is not always the carer that attends. I understand that due to unforeseen circumstances with their staff this cannot be helped but any carer that has attended has treated my partner with respect, patience, care and understanding

We originally set up the time for 4-5 but this has been getting earlier and earlier with 3.45 starts making it too early for dinner. We are planning to move this to 4.30 which is better all round.

Overall care and kindness is excellent - GoodOaks fulfilling all our fussy requirements and the difficult eating habits.

We appreciate the extra things like posting letters, collecting dental products, going for walks and chatting!

This is a top class service, the management are always proactive and respond to any requests positively, all of the carers come with the right attitude and in the 22 months they have been looking after my wife I have not had to complain about anything, many of them go the extra mile to make sure she is well cared for and her needs are fully met.

Mum had a live in Carer from June 25 to April 26. She received excellent care. As well as looking after Mum, the carer kept the house spotless.

Mum had help with her meds, was taken out on outings, and given companionship. All food was prepared by the carer.

I was was kept fully informed of Mums activities throughout the day.

We have been very impressed by all the the Goodoaks team. Their carers are prompt, respectful, thorough, caring and efficient. In an area which is often difficult for the client and their family, Goodoaks carers really make time to listen and meet my father in laws changing needs. We as family appreciate the time that it allows us to take a step back whilst their competent staff take over responsibility for his care for an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening. We are now looking to extend his package to include one or possibly two waking night visits per week as his condition deteriorates and needs change, Thank you!

Our allocated carer has been helpful caring, efficient and has immediately managed my husbands needs. We will definitely use this company again.

I brought my father to the Isle of Wight for a holiday and called GoodOaks Homecare before we left on the off-chance they could assist my father with washing & dressing each morning. The manager I spoke to was more than accommodating confirming we'd have a carer for our entire trip (1 week). The carer that took care of my father was absolutely superb, personable, very experienced, interested in how my father like to have things done and very efficient. She was even good enough to rearrange her day off so as to not interupt the continuity of care over our holiday, and all of this certainly made the holiday a far more enjoyable one for my family. Many things to all!

GoodOakes home care have been amazing from the start. From being unsure about having carers in the home to care for our Mother/Grandmother, we now feel reassured and well supported. The team have worked hard to cover the rota when last minute changes have been needed and they have accessed services on our behalf to obtain equipment which we are really grateful for. The carers are all kind and have a lovely way with our Mother/Grandmother. We feel we couldn't be without them now.

The carers were on time, fulfilled all they were expected to do and always asked if there was anything else they could do. They were well trained, kind, helpful and respectful. They had excellent support from their managers and any queries or suggestions I, or they, had were quickly acted on such as asking for standing aid as thought to be helpful - it was delivered the following morning with an assessor. Similarly when due to deterioration of client it was changed to a hoist. In order to make sure client was moved regularly for prevention of pressure sores they asked for, and got, funding for 4 visits a day instead of 3.

Nothing is too much trouble to help me.

I can truthfully say that going with GoodOaks is the best move I have made for both of us as all of the above is giving so much support to me as well.

Communication with all at GoodOaks has been superb with any queries dealt with immediately. I've been able to step back and relax a little knowing that my mum is receiving such good care and is happy!

All the carers I have had visiting from GoodOaks have been knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Although I have only had them for 2 weeks on one morning visit after returning home from a hip replacement operation, I would have no hesitation in booking the company again or recommending them as that was how I heard about them through personal recommendation.

Carrying out personal care is a hard job. Everyone wants to be treated differently. GoodOaks executed their service thoughtfully, listening to what was required and trying their best to deliver it. Several members of the team went above expectations to make extra effort to offer comfort and dignity. They were all proficient with the equipment. I had confidence that my mum was well looked after.

I am very pleased with GoodOaks services since Dec 2023, when I became a client. Carers are punctual and attend to my needs.They have a genuine interest in their clients and are prepared, within reason, to go the “extra mile” if requested. They are courteous and respectful and I look forward to their visits. I am better thanks to their care.
