Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Acorn 2 Oak Care - the registered care manager and her team looked after my Mum's care prior to her passing in September 2023. Mum couldn't have wanted for better care. They looked after all aspects of Mum's needs and much more besides. Nothing was too much trouble and as her condition worsened they
were there for her - helping with arrangements for equipment, healthcare professionals visiting and they were flexible to her needs - always. It was a concern when Mum started to need help but we needn't have worried, she was so happy with the team caring for her and they went over and well above what was required - they were always professional but always genuinely caring. So impressive. Thank you so much Registered Care Manager and everyone who cared for Mum.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.950) out of 10 for Acorn 2 Oak Care Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Acorn 2 Oak Care Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (108 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Acorn 2 Oak Care Ltd is based on 18 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4.95
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Welcome to our profile!

For the past 18 years, I have been delivering professional homecare services and supporting many individuals, from those who require minimal support to those with far more complex health/physical conditions. I always strive to improve and develop my knowledge, skills and practices and I strongly believe that everyone has the right to be treated fairly, with kindness, dignity and respect, everyone counts on us. I am committed to delivering high-quality person-centred care and with my experience in the care sector, as well as acquiring City & Guilds Diploma Level 5 in Health & Social Care Management, you can be assured of our professionalism and commitment to our clients. I am registered with the Care Quality Commission, a member of the Homecare Association and a Dignity in Care Champion.

I created Acorn 2 Oak Care in August 2022 and due to our success and growth, registered with the Care Quality Commission in January 2024. Being registered allowed us to expand our services to include personal care, support with medication, nutrition and hydration. We have grown our client base and only employ carers who have the willingness and aptitude to be good carers and to actually care for those we support. I have long-standing clients who have joined Acorn 2 Oak Care who I personally support and these clients have been with me for over 8 years and 16 years respectively which is quite an achievement.

As you can see from our services, we only tend to offer 60-minute visits. This is because we do not feel it appropriate to 'rush' people with getting up, washed, dressed and ready for their day. People need a little time. If you would like a visit that is less than an hour because you feel you do not need a 60-minute visit, please do not hesitate to contact and we will always try to accommodate you, especially if it is a lunch, medication or wellbeing check. We try to be as flexible as we can be with our clients.

When I am not at work, I have a full life, I enjoy running (especially the park run on a Saturday morning), the gym, my pets and, last but not least, spending time with my family and friends. I like the odd jigsaw too! I also work alongside the Norfolk Shared Lives Scheme (PSS) which supports adults with learning disabilities, I have been with this scheme for over 9 years which is a great honour.

If you would like an informal chat, a visit or would like to pop into our office for a coffee, please get in touch.

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile.
Nicola.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read about our company and also my profile.

My name is Bethanie, I joined Acorn to Oak at the end of June 2024 but am not entirely new to care. My dad and step-mum support adults with learning disabilities through the PSS shared lives scheme and I have spent a considerable amount of time socialising with various people of all abilities and ages. The reason I decided to venture into the care world was because I could see first-hand the difference good care makes and how people can flourish in life with a little support. I will always be the one trying to put a smile on everybody's face.

In my spare time, you may see me running around Wymondham with Wymondham AC (the local running club). I like to aim high - I completed my first Marathon this year in London and, don't like to show off, but with a very good time. If I don’t have my running shoes on, you will find me with a paintbrush in hand getting stuck into the renovations on my new barn conversion home project and tackling all sorts of new projects! I am quite the DIY give-it-a-go person.

If you choose Acorn 2 Oak Care as your care provider, I know you will get the very best of care and you will also have support from people who will bring an abundance of warmth and a friendly nature to their role. My role within Acorn 2 Oak Care is to support Nicola and our care team with delivering person-centred care to our valued customers.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I hope to get to meet you in the future.

Hello! I am relatively new to the care sector in comparison to others but I absolutely love it. I worked for 15 years in the private business sector and decided to have a career change once I had my two daughters. I 'fell' into care as it was not something that I thought of doing, however, the opportunity came up for me to support a young adult with learning disabilities and instantly felt I had found my vocation. I feel that care is not a 'job' but a vocation, when I go out to support people, I am supporting them to live the best life they can in the comfort of their own home.

I was offered an opportunity to work with Acorn 2 Oak Care and since I have been working as part of the team, I have gained experience, qualifications and opportunities that have helped me grow as a person and have a deeper empathy and understanding for the challenges that people face on a day-to-day basis that, otherwise, I may not have known or recognised. Since joining Acorn 2 Oak Care, I have progressed and am now the Care Coordinator. It is my responsibility to match the carers with our clients, carry out customer surveys to make sure we are providing an excellent service to our clients, compile the weekly rota and monitor the care team.

In life, I am busy being a mum, wife, housekeeper and just balancing the day-to-day challenges that being all these things brings. I wouldn't change it for the world though!
