My wife, Carolyn, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in January 2026 and we together with our two children decided that she should remain at our home Bridleway until her life's end. Initially, we needed four hours help from Right at Home each day, but as Carolyn's health deteriorated, her Carer's hours extended to give 24 hour support every day. Decisions were made almost daily, yet the Manageress reacted positively to our every need.

Following major spinal surgery, I unexpectedly needed support at home and was introduced to Right at Home Harrogate. Many people associate home care with elderly clients, but my circumstances were very different. I am a younger professional who moved directly into a new property after leaving hospital, meaning I was trying to establish a home whilst recovering from major surgery. The team provided practical support, reassurance and kindness at exactly the right time. Despite it being a Sunday, an urgent issue arose shortly after discharge and emergency overnight care was arranged at very short notice. Throughout, the response was calm, professional and solution-focused. What impressed me most was the standard of support. I have very high standards and could genuinely trust that tasks would be completed with the same care and attention to detail that I would have applied myself. That level of trust is exceptionally rare. Right at Home Harrogate felt like a lighthouse in a storm.

my friend (the service user) is my lodger. physically disabled through autoimmune arthritis, neurodivergent, & serious mental health conditions. Waiting on spinal surgery. In dispute with Adult social care over fees, it has been a nightmare over the last year, so 9 hours allotted funded care became only 2 hours, and my friend is left with a debt in the thousands. Those who should be supporting have made a total stressful mess of it, culminating in them dropping my friend from the care system altogether for a period.
Due to all the stress of trying to live through their constant extreme physical pain, without the proper support, my friend made a serious attempt on their life recently. Without Right at Home's consistent & genuine concern & help through this - and other disasters - I would probably have been sectioned and my lodger would certainly not be alive by now. Thank you Tessa & Veronica. You are lifesavers.

Veronica was very proactive with liaising with the hospital, understanding mums needs and recommending improvements to assist with mums daily routine. I soon became very comfortable with the way Veronica supported mum at home which gave me peace of mind. In addition, Veronica has been very great with her communication back to me on mums health and recovery progress which was fantastic as I live in Australia and struggle with visibility on day to day issues which arise.

Right at Home have supported my mother after a stay in hospital following an operation and continue to support my father who has advanced Dementia. I cannot praise them enough - nothing is too much trouble and without a doubt it is enabling my father to stay at home for as long as possible. The carers are kind, compassionate, supportive and genuinely support us as a family enormously. Care visits are well thought out to take into account my Dad's interests and likes and stimulate him both mentally and physically. Carers treat him with dignity and respect and make him feel listened to. They also work to help Mum in the home with household tasks and to enable her to have a break. They are incredibly flexible and always manage to accommodate any additional needs we may have. We were recommended Right at Home by a friend who used them for her parents and I'm so glad we found them. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Throughout this time, I have been really pleased and impressed by the standard of care provided. The team always thinks from my father's perspective, focusing on what will make him comfortable and safe rather than simply what is most convenient. They adapt sensitively and professionally as his needs change, offering day to day support and guidance to help us plan ahead. It came to a point where my friend needed help at home to live a comfortable life in his own home. He's 86 and getting to the point where help was needed so we engaged 'Right At Home' to start slowly a couple of days a week but now he's completely happy with the service and has visits twice a day every day for the foreseeable future. The carers are very knowledgeable and kind and have suggestions that we hadn't thought of. His main carer has been so helpful. I can thoroughly recommend this company.

I have reached out to Right at Home Harrogate after a friend of mine recommended them when I was looking for some help for my husband. I was feeling overwhelmed with the amount of things I needed to do for him, that I felt I couldn't cope. This was taking away the quality of time I used to have with him. From the first interaction, the manager was very helpful, offering me a lot of vital information and made me feel reassured that they know what they are doing. The team is so helpful, treating me and my husband with dignity. All the ladies are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble to them. It's such a concern looking for an in-home care company for an elderly parent, especially for the first time and in an extremely short notice circumstance. I was recommended Right at Home by a friend and have to say it's been the best recommendation I could have hoped for The Harrogate franchise is run by a wonderful manager who is amazing. She listened to everything that Mum needed and all conversations with her made her feel listened to and also respected, which is so important. We only gave the manager six days' notice to help provide care for Mum at home after a situation changed. It honestly felt like an impossible task but incredibly not only did the manager make the time to meet, assess, and get to know Mum a few days later, but she had the care schedule all planned out and set to go exactly when was The Harrogate Right at Home team has so much experience (one was a nurse for many decades) and are so caring and genuine that I can highly recommend them!

Veronica began her professional journey with a degree in Economics and a brief stint in Marketing. However, her passion for supporting others and enhancing lives led her to transition into the care industry. Since then, Veronica has dedicated over 10 years to the Health and Social Care sector, specialising in providing exceptional care and support to those in need.
Starting as a Care Assistant in domiciliary care, Veronica’s dedication and commitment propelled her through various roles, including Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, and Deputy Manager. In November 2021, she assumed the role of Registered Manager at Right at Home Ilkley, Keighley & Skipton, where she continued to excel in overseeing the delivery of top-tier care services before embarking on the Managing Director role with Right at Home Harrogate.
Veronica’s diverse experiences have equipped her with the skills and knowledge to support individuals across various spectrums of care needs. She has worked with the elderly, individuals living with Dementia, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and brain injuries. Through continuous learning and obtaining relevant qualifications, Veronica ensures that the care provided meets the highest standards of quality.
Veronica's approach to care is defined by compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life for all clients. She believes in the importance of delivering person-centred care tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering an environment where clients can thrive and live comfortably in their own homes.
