I was especially grateful to Jodi, who asked thoughtful questions I would never have thought of myself. That really reassured us that Dad's care would be tailored to him.
We started with overnight carers and have been very impressed - it's given my Mum the chance to rest properly, knowing Dad is safe and well looked after. The carers have also taken the time to get to know Dad personally, showing an interest in what he enjoys and encouraging him to do things for himself, which has made a huge difference.
We've now added a couple of afternoon visits each week so Mum can get out, and once again the carers have been fantastic.

I’m Jodi, the Registered Care Manager at Aurora Community Care. I don’t see care as a service — I see it as a responsibility. Every person we support is treated with dignity, patience and respect I would expect for my own family.
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and lead our service across Worthing, Goring-by-Sea, Littlehampton, Steyning, Storrington and surrounding areas. I am a visible, hands-on manager. I personally meet families, carry out detailed assessments and ensure care plans are genuinely person-centred — shaped around individual routines, preferences, life history and goals. The people we support are always involved in decisions about their care, because this is their home and their life.
Safety underpins everything we do. I oversee safeguarding, robust risk assessments, medication governance (including MAR audits), incident reviews and reflective learning. I carry out regular spot checks, supervisions and competency observations to ensure our Care Givers consistently deliver safe, compassionate and professional support. If something isn’t right, I address it immediately. If something can be improved, we improve it.
We recruit for values as much as experience. Kindness, reliability and integrity are non-negotiable. Our Care Givers are carefully vetted, trained and continuously supported, because trust is everything when someone is caring for you in your own home.
We work closely with families, GPs, community nurses and other professionals to ensure care is coordinated and responsive. Communication is open and honest, and I remain accountable and accessible. Being CQC-ready is not something we prepare for — it’s how we operate every day.
I am deeply passionate about enabling people to remain safe, independent and respected at home. We don’t just provide visits — we build meaningful relationships, protect dignity and go above and beyond to make a genuine difference.
I’m Ann, Director at Aurora Community Care and Mum of owner Mike. We all want to provide the kind of care we want for our own mother, so I really am the perfect "Mum Test" !!
My job is to make sure our service is safe, reliable and exactly what we’ve promised — every visit, every time. As a family-run provider serving Worthing, Goring-by-Sea, Littlehampton, Steyning, Storrington and nearby villages, I focus on the things that give families confidence: strong governance, safer recruitment, clear communication and zero drama.
