Sorin Floti

Sorin has had a fast-paced career in investment in London, New York City, and Boston, where he has worked and studied since moving away from his native Romania.

He has always wanted to work to support people and started Right at Home Wandsworth & Lambeth to dedicate his time fully to this goal.

In addition, Sorin has a master’s degree in Social Policy and Public Policy, ran to become the first Romanian local councillor in the UK, was a school governor and volunteer tutor and mentor to young people, and is currently finishing a qualification in Counselling and Coaching (which he is perhaps overly optimistic that he will find time to practice).

"We care deeply about helping our clients live fulfilling, independent lives and have designed our service to provide the highest quality person-centred care. We strive to run an ethical business that cares for its Clients, does right by its employees, and gives back to its local community."

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, I moved to England in December 2019 and never imagined that stepping into the care sector would completely transform my life. What began as a new opportunity quickly became a genuine passion, leading me to build a rewarding career across various roles within the industry, including Carer, Ambassador, Care Coordinator, Client Care Manager, and Registered Manager.

I hold an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care with Distinction, and before relocating to England, I studied Criminal Justice in South Africa.

In South Africa, I co-owned a golf pro shop with my family, and I have always been deeply passionate about sport. Having ridden horses since the age of two, I spent many years competing in showjumping and dressage. I also played netball, enjoyed golf, and, thanks to my husband, developed an appreciation for motocross. Sport has played a significant role in shaping who I am, teaching me discipline, resilience, determination, and the importance of teamwork, qualities I bring into my leadership and career every day.

I am incredibly career-driven and genuinely believe I have found my calling in care. For me, leadership is not just about managing people; it is about inspiring, supporting, and helping others reach their full potential. I strongly believe that every day is a school day, and that if you haven’t learnt something new by the end of the day, you’ve missed an opportunity.

My passion for care is also deeply personal. Losing my mom to cancer back in 2018 was one of the most difficult experiences of my life and gave me a profound appreciation for the importance of compassionate, person-centred care. Looking back, I believe this experience played a significant role in shaping why I care so deeply about supporting others and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Although I can be shy when first meeting people, I pride myself on being honest, transparent, and deeply loyal. I value meaningful relationships, open communication, and building trust, qualities I believe are essential both in life and in leadership.

Outside of work, I am married to an incredible and supportive husband, family-oriented, and completely obsessed with my little dachshund, Zulu, who very much runs the house.

More recently, I have started my own podcast, Life in Care, a passion project dedicated to bringing people across the care industry together to share honest stories, experiences, and conversations about life in care. My goal is to continue growing the platform and creating a space where people working in care feel heard, valued, and appreciated.
