Job Title: Director Joined: 2020

Having grown up in Watford, living on a working farm, Russell now lives and works in Dorset, and what a lovely county Dorset is. His young family love the great natural spaces and amazing coastline that is on his doorstep.

Russell's working life started as a part-time trolley collector for a big American Retailer, and 15 years later, after a brief spell in Australia, he was running his own store. His experience in retail then took him to the position of Managing Director for an ethical retail chain in Bristol with a focus on Organic and high-welfare products. The big change came when, with the support of his wife, they invested in a Wiltshire Farm Foods franchise, which they have been running for a couple of years now.

Starting Bloomfield Care with Helen Blunden has been the most rewarding experience of all, learning all that goes into providing exceptional Care. We are very proud of the approach we take, understanding the partnerships between our clients and us.

When Russell is not working, he fills in as a taxi driver for his very busy children, with the two boys fully involved with Wimborne Rugby Club and his little girl wanting to go riding every spare minute.

My name is Helen, I have 4 children and 3 Grandchildren. I have worked in various sectors of the care industry. Throughout my career, I have taken on the role of an NVQ Assessor, Deputy manager, both in residential settings and within the community, as well as a care trainer.

I feel each of my roles has enabled me to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to lead me where I am today, which is passionate and dedicated to delivering a high service to our clients whilst empowering our staff to achieve their own goals and ambitions.

If you speak to those who know me personally and professionally, they will say I am kind, fair, compassionate, and approachable. My motto is that everything seems better discussed over coffee and cake!

Job Title: Regional Manager Joined: 2020

With over 16 years of experience in the care industry, I’ve had the privilege of working across a variety of sectors—from running a domiciliary care agency to serving as a Registered Manager and business owner. Each role has deepened my passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

I chose to join Bloomfield because of its strong ethos and reputation for putting people at the heart of everything they do. Their commitment to person-centred care, dignity, and respect perfectly aligns with my own values and approach to supporting others.

Outside of work, I live with my husband, with whom I've shared over 20 wonderful years. We love holidaying in the sun, but my true happy place is Cornwall. There, I enjoy paddleboarding, slowing down with a good book, and soaking up the peace and natural beauty the coast has to offer.

Job Title: Client Relations and Business Development Manager Joined: 2025

I started my journey in care over 14 years ago when I took a job as a carer, originally thinking it would simply be a part-time role around my husband and children. Very quickly, I realised how rewarding the work was, and it soon became a career I truly love.

Over the years, I have worked in many roles across both domiciliary care and care home settings, including Carer, Senior Carer, Team Leader, Care Coordinator, Deputy Manager, Registered Manager and Trainer. Each role has helped me build a strong understanding of the care sector and the importance of providing compassionate, person-centred support.

I now work as the Client Relations and Business Development Manager, a role that suits me perfectly as I love meeting people, supporting families and helping them find the right care for their loved ones.

Outside of work, I am married and have three children. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and going on long countryside walks with our dog. I’m very much a people person and love building meaningful relationships, both in my work and personal life.

Job Title: Deputy manager Joined: 2026

I have worked in care since 2019 and currently hold the role of deputy manager within the company. I originally chose a career in care because I wanted to support people, and a friend encouraged me to try working in the sector. Since then, I have remained in care and progressed through several roles. I started as a carer, then became a Field Care Supervisor, and later a Registered Manager. What I enjoy most about my job is supporting different people to remain in their own homes and maintain their independence. I particularly value end-of-life care, as it feels like a real achievement to help someone stay at home, where they wish to be, during their final days. The most rewarding part of supporting people is the sense of fulfilment and knowing that we can make a real difference in someone’s life. I believe that important qualities for anyone working in care include being friendly, caring, compassionate, a good listener, having strong communication skills, and maintaining confidentiality. To me, great care means providing person-centred care and going above and beyond what is expected.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking my Labradors, shooting, reading true crime, and spending time in nature. I am also interested in music and collect vinyl records, and I enjoy gardening. I believe compassionate care is important because everyone deserves the best care possible. Supporting people in their own homes means helping them remain where they feel most comfortable while boosting their independence and quality of life.
