Job Title: Registered Manager - South Nottinghamshire Joined: 2023

I started working in care when I was 18, working in a learning disability home. I did this for 9 years, and I loved it. I worked my way up to a senior carer but wanted to try other types of care, so I moved to the city hospital as an HCA for around 3 years. This gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about catheter care and wound care.

I then went into home care and fell in love with the home care side of things. I love to help people and ensure they can remain as independent as possible and remain in their own homes. I have always wanted to better myself in my career, and it was my goal to become a registered manager.

With this in mind, I completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and went to night college to do my maths. When I saw the job come up, I was already working for Premier Community as a care coordinator, and I just knew I had to go for it. I had nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
