YHHA Cumbria provides personalised home care from its local base in Kendal, supporting people to remain independent, comfortable and connected to the communities that matter to them.
The team supports people across Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh, Milnthorpe and surrounding South Cumbria communities. They understand that arranging care in a rural or more dispersed area can bring different considerations, including distance, continuity and access to local services. Care is therefore planned around each person's individual circumstances, routines, preferences and assessed needs.
Support can range from shorter home care visits and companionship to personal care, dementia support, respite care and live-in care. The team works closely with individuals, families and other professionals to provide dependable, person-centred support while promoting dignity, choice and independence.
Before care begins, time is taken to understand what is important to the individual and how they would like to be supported. Care arrangements can then be reviewed as circumstances or needs change.
With a locally based team and office in Kendal, YHHA Cumbria aims to combine responsive local support with the quality standards, training and governance expected across YHHA.
