They are often asked what makes a good Care Assistant, and they say it's not so much about qualifications, although previous experience can be valuable, it's more about the candidate and their passion to want to help others. In a typical day you will visit six to 10 of your regular customers providing help as per their plan. The care that customers receive falls into three areas:

Personal Care - Help getting up washed and dressed, helping with medication

Home Care - Meal preparation, light cleaning, ironing and tidying

Companionship - Ever present in all visits as some customers are on their own
