Job Summary

Ella’s Homecare is looking for a dedicated, experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our growing team.

We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care and support, enabling the people we support to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes.

As Deputy Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high standards of care, compliance and staff performance are maintained.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Ensuring people receiving care are supported safely, respectfully and in line with their individual care plans.
  • Supporting the development, implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments.
  • Supervising, supporting and mentoring care staff.
  • Assisting with staff inductions, training and ongoing development.
  • Conducting spot checks, observations and supervisions.
  • Monitoring the quality and consistency of care being delivered.
  • Supporting with safeguarding concerns and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Assisting with audits, compliance checks and quality assurance.
  • Liaising professionally with service users, families, healthcare professionals and other external agencies.
  • Supporting with staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Responding appropriately to incidents, concerns and emergencies.
  • Ensuring accurate care records and documentation are maintained.
  • Promoting a positive, supportive and professional culture within the team.
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for staff, service users and families when required.
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.

  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding, medication, care planning and risk management.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards and promoting dignity, independence and choice.
  • Professional and approachable in their dealings with service users, families and colleagues.
  • Able to work flexibly and as part of a team.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a senior care or supervisory role.
  • Good understanding of health and social care standards and best practice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and person-centred care.
  • Relevant care qualifications, such as an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards one.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required depending on the service requirements.
