Job Advert

Homecare Team Leader | Mid & West Cornwall | £14.46 to £14.66 per hour

Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. That rating belongs to our team, and we are looking for a Homecare Team Leader to help us keep raising the bar.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will still deliver care yourself, so you know exactly what your team faces each day. Alongside that, you will lead, support and develop a team of Support Workers and work closely with your Area Manager.

What you will do

  • Lead, supervise and support a team of Support Workers
  • Carry out inductions, training, supervisions and appraisals
  • Complete customer assessments and risk assessments, and write and update care plans
  • Match Support Workers to customers, and introduce new team members at first calls
  • Carry out spot checks, quality checks and customer reviews
  • Check MAR and eMAR charts so medication records are accurate
  • Make sure accidents and incidents are recorded and acted on
  • Deliver high-quality personal care that respects each customer's choices, dignity and privacy

What you get

  • £14.46 per hour weekdays, £14.66 weekends and £21.08 bank holidays
  • 37.5 hours per week, permanent
  • Company pension
  • Access to a company hire car if you need one
  • Specialist training, including PEG feeding and suctioning
  • Support towards your Level 3 Diploma
  • Blue Light Card and £100 refer-a-friend bonus
  • Support Worker of the Month and staff recognition events
  • Qualified Mental Health First Aiders, wellbeing support and staff socials
  • Uniform, PPE and 24/7 on-call support

What you need

  • Previous experience in health and social care, ideally in homecare
  • Experience of supervising staff in health or social care
  • An NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or similar
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality
  • Experience of risk assessments, care planning and organising workloads
  • Confidence providing personal care, including intimate personal care
  • Good computer skills and clear written records
  • Flexibility to work a rota, including weekends
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • The right to work in the UK

Good care depends on good leadership. In this role, you will shape the care our customers receive every day, and help your team feel valued, confident and proud of their work.

We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. An enhanced DBS check and references will be carried out in line with government regulations and recruitment best practice. Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is an equal opportunities employer.

If this sounds like you, apply today. We would love to hear from you.
