View Full Details of Break Barriers Nottingham LtdMy parents both had Break Barriers carers attending them. My father only for a matter of weeks before he died, but my mother had them for 3 years. From the moment they first walked through the door, we were impressed. Their professionalism, hygiene, timekeeping, compassion, kindness, communication and support were exemplary. This was across the board from management, office staff and carers. I have worked in the community health sector, so I have come across numerous care agencies in the past, and a lot have been very good, but I've never met anyone to the standard of Break Barriers. Every one of the carers was lovely and friendly, and they provided great personalised care and treated my parents with dignity. They took time to add the little touches like applying face cream and putting a brooch on Mum's dress. When my parents died, the support I had was amazing and it helped me during a very difficult time. I cannot thank them enough for making my parents last years so much easier.
When my mother was discharged from hospital, her health was fragile. From the very first visit, the care team showed a level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine warmth that immediately put our minds at ease. They took the time to understand my mum's needs. The care workers we have, have treated her with dignity, respect, and kindness, as if she were their own family member. The communication has been excellent, and we've always felt included in the care decisions. My mum often says how much she looks forward to seeing them, which speaks volumes about the relationships they've built with her.
Break Barriers had been supporting our family to care for dad for a while, he having been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. We were provided with a team who were very caring and patient, adapting and learning to assist dad during his changing needs. As a family we had peace of mind as they would ensure his needs were met in a kind and caring way. Even during hospital stays a member of the team would sit with him ensuring the stretched hospital staff had someone on hand to support them. We felt confident to leave dad in the care of the team when we had to go out and couldn't take him with us. The team were kind and caring and became good friends of the family. Thank you to Break Barriers for making my dad's last few days as comfortable as they could be.
My mum's care team at the moment is very all carers are extremely helpful and friendly. For instance mum has just found out she needs cataract surgery which she has discussed with the team and this resulted in the office contacting me to see if she needed any more support.
I have been so pleased with the care my mum has received over the last 2 1/2 years. My mum has always been treated with kindness and dignity, without exception. I have always been informed of any concerns the caregivers have highlighted in the first instance. The level of care is excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Break Barriers to friends and family.
I would definitely recommend Break Barriers! My son has been and still is a client of theirs for nearly 6 years. They are very accommodating to his needs and always happy to change his rota accordingly. The carers are on time 99.9% of the time and if they are going to be late, then the office often informs my son to let him know. My son enjoys chatting to his carers, who are all very friendly! All this positivity helps us get through each day with a smile.
Break Barriers have provided personal care for my mum for almost two years. There have been a few niggles, as you would expect with any service of this nature, but on the whole it has been very good, especially given several changes to mum's care plan during this time, which have been dealt with timely and professionally. My mum has developed good relationships with the team of carers that look after her and I often hear laughter coming from her room when they're with her. The senior care workers do their best to resolve any issues that occur and to be fair there aren't many. If I had one critique though it would be that there hasn't been any update re access to the app to view the carers' notes and in spite of asking for weekly email copies, have only received them 2 or 3 times. As I am not present when the care is being given, the notes can be useful as mum is confused much of the time and the notes can help when reconciling what she tells me versus what the carer has recorded.
This team have been a lifeline for us. They have accommodated my husband's needs at every time of asking. We have had to use emergency hours a number of times and they have gone out their way to help. They are a great team and it works so well. Across all areas. From rota's, communication at and from all levels. We have had exceptional care from this company. The carer's really do care, we have met some lovely people without exception. I couldn't think of one thing to suggest for improvement. That is really unheard of for me. We have been with company for nearly a year. Iwe are truly lucky to have them.
There are no words to articulate what the team at Break Barriers did in caring for my Dad; who sadly died of MND in January after battling it for 7.5 years. The tenderness, compassion and dedication shown in the care provided over the years to help my dad fight this horrible disease was unbelievable. They weren't just a care team. They became a second family to my Dad, Mum, sister and myself. Specifically six members of his care team. Thank you so much for everything you did for my Dad. You are the most wonderful of people and we are eternally grateful to you. You went above and beyond at all times. I can't recommend Break Barriers highly enough!
Excellent care provided 24/7 for our daughter who has complex and challenging needs. Break Barriers is always responsive to requests and queries always friendly and polite. The carers are trained to a high standard. They have worked hard to get to know our daughter and to build her confidence in them.
Excellent, friendly and professional care. My husband has MND and the staff have been respectful and attuned to his personal requirements . Staff have been trained to use equipment which is required by my husband to use overnight. I have complete trust to leave my husband in their care and get a night's rest.
We’ve been with Break Barriers for a few years now, and in the last few months, they have excelled in their service provision. They were already very good, but since our care plan has been increased two-fold, they have been even better! The carers are all very friendly, caring, reassuring and confident in their tasks. The office team are very responsive and has even supported us recently with little notice. I would certainly recommend their services.
My daughter's care was so poor in one aspect she needed medical intervention for the blisters on her legs when her splints rubbed. My daughter was injured during a hoist lift. An ambulance was called, staff left her on her own and turned their phones off. Office staff were useless but did offer to pray for her while she was screaming in agony. Luckily a friend lived locally and was able to stay with my daughter until the ambulance arrived. Luckily my daughter has now been placed with another agency who are fabulous with her and she no longer dreads her care calls.
I secured Break Barriers in 2011 and the name is well suited. The care given to my mum is second to none. Mum is treated like family, a winning ethos how clients are cared for. Have to experience the service and care ethics to truly understand. March 2019, mum was taken to hospital at short notice and stayed for 3 weeks. The wonderful staff rallied adjusted care with an immediate response. Staff continued with personal and loving care. The routine stayed in place, ensuring mum was not stressed in an environment other than her home. Her care urgently changed and needed extreme adjustments. Spoke to Break Barriers for added support for night carers. The new change was immediately put in place before I returned to London. I live in London, I found Break Barriers' entire staff who care for my mum. The agency looks after me too so I can continue to live in London. They are my eyes, my ears. I talk Break Barriers to colleagues, friends and recommend them. I'm told that I'm lucky to have Break Barriers and their service and I appreciate my position. Mum is happy after years being cared for by wonderful individuals that is Break Barriers.
For the past 8 months, Break Barriers became part of our extended family and that extra quality of life, gave our family and especially aunty, immense pleasure and happiness and for that little piece of tranquillity in aunty’s life, we will eternally be grateful to all those involved. The care provided was of exceptional quality, the staff were well trained, very caring and compassionate. Any concerns we raised were promptly dealt with. We can’t express enough gratitude to all staff that were involved directly and indirectly in looking after and managing aunty. The staff went that extra mile at times to support aunty with great patience and understanding, which made an enormous difference in her daily life and gave her immense comfort. We were especially touched by the great sensitivity and dignity the staff gave both aunty and us in her final days and for making such a difference and giving aunty quality of life she deserved; we will be forever grateful to all those involved in aunties care.
The professional set up from home visit with risk assessments being carried out to organising those important first visits of introduction and a step by step carefully laid out plan and continuous support from management to see that the plan is going well the staff are so calm and considerate to the persons needs. We can't thank Break Barriers enough.
