View Full Details of Care South at Home Somerset & West DorsetBeen a great getting me back on my feet.
Mum and myself have felt well supported by Care South at Home. They have been reliable, pro- active and understanding of her condition and situation. Mum looks forward to their visits and feels able to express her needs. We have both been treated in a professional and and approachable manner.
The care services from Care South were good and the carers were friendly and did their work carefully and effectively. Timing of the four visits each day was uncertain and this was a little difficult for the family to work around.
Care South have looked after my needs for approximately two years to date, they visit every other day and carry out multiple tasks. I find all the carers friendly and helpful and they treat me with dignity and respect.
Everything is ok - love care south - no problems.
When I came home from hospital following a stroke I was barely able to butter a piece of toast, but with the encouragement of my carer I am now 3 weeks later able to prepare food for myself They gave me strength to reach these goals.
My father has been receiving care from the Care South @ Home team for approx. one year and I have been delighted with the service. The team are remarkably patient and respectful, and have been able to build trust over time, enabling Dad to remain at home and to maintain his independence. I am truly undebited to the team and enormously grateful for their work and dedication.
At 90 years of age, our main concern in that we can stay in our own home and Care South provides the help that we need to do this. The care assistants are kind and understanding and bring sunshine within our home.
Having called upon Care South to help me. after being discharged from hospital at short notice. Requiring daily visits to assist with washing etc. From the initial meeting to my termination found the service second to none, everyone I had pleasure of meeting were friendly and extremely helpful.
Care South are such a great support to my wife, who has dementia and myself. They do not mind what they have to do and everything is accomplished with kindness and care. They are on absolute godsend and I would be lost without them. I have no hesitation is recommending the company whole heartedly.
Care provided is of a high standard with caring friendly and understanding staff. One is made to feel that you're treated as an important individual and my feelings are well received. The carers make every effort to be punctual despite emergencies and hold ups. Overall I am very satisfied with the treatment and care that I received.
All the carers are very supportive. Helpful, kind and friendly - all with a smile. What more do you want? Gold star for all.
The service I receive is adequate to my needs. I mostly have a 7 am visit, but there are times, especially at the weekends when I don't know when a carer will turn up. I am not always informed about any change. This is frustrating, as staff seem to have time off at a minute's notice. This is not a way to run a business. More staff are needed. It seems so many of the staff do not want to work weekends.
Very pleased with the care he receives. Many thanks.
Generally, I find the service ok, sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss, but apart from that it's not all bad. The one thing I would be critical of is not receiving a list of times during the weeks when the carers arrive, it would be a great help if my mother could have a list posted to her to let us all know what time of the day to be expected to arrive at.
Generally very good. Continuity of carers essential. Sometimes more training would be useful but adequate. Regarding personal care, male carers; if the client doesn't want male carers then this wish should be respected at all times.
As a retired university lecturer, it is crucial that your students enjoy the experience in a calm environment. The majority of carers do that, but I feel that there should be more training to reinforce that enjoyable experience. It should not be the case that they arrive to do their job at my expense and arrive and finish as soon as possible. Yes, I understand their time is limited, but it is necessary that the carer leaves the recipient in a calm state of mind. The majority are fine, but there is one who is hyperactive and it takes me about one hour to recover from the 'gust of wind'! Care South know about this and needs to address the problem by perhaps 'having a word'!
I am unhappy with the time between visits. I think 6:30 or anything up to 9 o'clock is too early to go to bed. My times would be between 8:30 to 9:30 mornings and between 1 o'clock and 2:30 dinner. 5 o'clock to 6 tea if possible and no gentlemen morning or evening please.
Mother really enjoys engaging with her carers (and they with her). She is always treated very well.
Care South looked after my mother during her D2A assessment period. I can not rate the carers highly enough as each was very professional in their approach, treating my mother with the greatest respect, dignity and, when appropriate, humour. My mother and I benefitted from their reassurance and kindness at a difficult time for both of us, and we were both sorry to say goodbye to these amazing people at the end of the assessment.
