View full details of Helping Hands Home Care (Chester)this review is to cover the last 12 months. Having not had a break in 6 years i was very reluctant to leave my friend as we literally had not been apart in 6 years that he has lived with me. however one phone call to enquire and i knew straight away from talking to adrienne i was leaving him in very capable hands and my fears went. We was very fortunate to get Abel and wow what can i say there is no words to describe how happy we was with the care he provided Adie. The feedback from my family, Friends and neighbours was outstanding. Abel is so kind caring patient and very understanding of adies needs i trust him 100 percent in our home he keeps it spotlessI will only have Abel as he knows Adies needs just as much as my family and i myself do. He is an amazing carer and knows his job and is so dedicated. Thank you for all the care Abel and the rest of helping hands as they always a phonecall away if i need to enquire about anything
I love having my carers each morning. Without them, I would be unable to get out of bed, showered and dressed. As a full time wheelchair user life isn't straightforward but they help me get ready for the day ahead. I have a regular bunch and they are all kind, thoughtful, resourceful, perceptive, punctual and respectful. I have been a client of Helping Hands for over 3 years and would highly recommend them.
We needed swift 24hour care for my mother at short notice. The service provided to put this is place really good and the communication was excellent We now have a smaller care package in place. I needed phone regarding this support and I received proactive response
Mostly the service provided has been very good, courteous and respectfully. The only negative has been that occasionally the lady coming in to help has not arrived at the agreed time, meaning my father is sitting about in his dressing gown waiting for her to arrive. Also my mother doesn't think they need a whole hour just to wash him, she thinks half an hour would do. But overall the service has been very good. Another small point, my mother asked for a man to assist with dad's washing, I understand this is very difficult, and except this may not be available all the time.
Helping Hands are the first care company that I've used for my Dad, and I couldn't be happier. My Dad is an independent person who has always done things from himself, but due to ill health needs help for the first time, especially after my Mum passed away last year. He was initially reluctant to have carers, but now he actively looks forward to each visit. He finds each of the carers very friendly, warm and engaging - and will now tell me to cancel other things if they clash with a carers visit!)
Being recently diagnosed with dementia my mother started to receive care from helping hands several months ago. She has received excellent care every evening, but as her health has declined further, I approached the Branch care manager at the Chester branch to find out what I could do to amend and increase the times of visits. I was walked through the process and given all the options available to me. The Branch care manager was very patient and extremely understanding. I was helped to put a more comprehensive care plan in place. Unfortunately, my mother's health deteriorated very rapidly and social services became involved. Every member of staff that I have met from helping hands has been extremely courteous, professional and friendly. I could not recommend them highly enough.
Very helpful staff mum couldn't live on her own without them. She looks forward to them coming everyday they keep her in touch with the world around her. She has a good sense of humour and enjoys a laugh it makes her day having visits .
Excellent service. No complaints.
My daughter has been receiving care from Helping Hands for about seven years now. As her health and mobility has declined over that time, the care she has had and continues to have is excellent. All our carers are kind and caring and feel part of the family.
We have been clients of Chester Helping Hands for about three years. The ladies and one gentleman who work for them are excellent carers. But they seem to lose staff and continuity of care suffers. The communication from their Chester office is poor. We are not told about time changes and rota changes which are frequent. When we started using helping hands this was not the case but the last year things have not been good. We have no complaints about the carers who are lovely. But we were concerned when one of the ladies turned up to see us in distress to explain that she would no longer be coming to us. We do get fond of our helpers and maybe they do of us! You seem to be losing excellent staff. We do hope things will improve in Chester.
