View Full Details of Craven Home CareCraven Homecare has looked after my 89 year old mother at her own flat. She has quite complex needs including a catheter and difficulty with mobility. From the first visit, which was an introduction to the company, all the management and staff have been professional, extremely compassionate and caring. My mother has had two medical episodes whilst the carers have been present and these have been dealt with brilliantly ensuring she got the right medical care. We can totally trust this company and they've taken a huge amount of pressure off the family. The staff all know their roles and responsibilities (always attend when due) and there's excellent communication between the company and family. When caring for my mum they do it with good humour and compassion. My mother is looking forward to leaving hospital and going home as she also has total faith in the care provided by Craven Homecare.
Both my Sister and I live away from the Skipton area but are responsible for our 90 year old Dad. It was becoming apparent that Dad really was beginning to struggle living alone and needed some outside input. Cath and her team could not have been more helpful , they responded to meet with us and help almost immediately and offered to support my Dad in whichever way they could eg shopping , cleaning , tidying , preparing food . Their approach was very much "can do " and they really aimed to provide care tailored exactly to meet Dads needs.
As mum's dementia is progressing her carers are facing an increasing number of challenges, but they meet each one with warmth, care, compassion and endless patience. They ring me if they have any concerns, which is very reassuring, and are always on the end of the phone if there is anything that is worrying me. She is becoming more reluctant to eat, drink or take her medication. Only last week we had a day where mum hadn't eaten or drunk anything and was convinced she'd already had her tablets when she hadn't. But the wonderful thing about Craven Home Care is that they discuss problems with me, and think outside the box when coming up with potential solutions, but still make me feel included. This is after all my mum. Their revised approach resulted in mum happily having her lunch and a cup of tea with her tablets which was a great result. Craven Home Care gives me peace of mind enabling me to carry on with daily life, as well as the chance to be mum's daughter again. Priceless
