View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Worcester)Sometimes in life, we just need a helping hand! As a recently permanently disabled lady, I am still just about in control of my life, but sometimes even I need a bit of help, especially when I broke my shoulder, so I treated myself to helping hands (There are no pockets in a shroud!), who were recommended by the council. What I particularly like is they will take over as much as you want/don't want them to. Only someone with the need for care will understand and treasure the difference. They put the client's preferences at the centre. When life has robbed you of so much, we can still be involved in our care (and this brings the best results). There are lots of care agencies out there. LOTS of dying to take over. At H/H, everyone has been clean and punctual. In two years, only one set of sweaty armpits (I worked her too hard LOL! They won't control, they will care (fine line)). It has been one of the best decisions I have EVER made. Thank you to all the staff/friends at Helping Hands.
In general the company is very user friendly and all of the carers are both well trained and knowledgeable. They show a great deal of respect, understanding and empathy whenever they carry out my personal care duties. The only problem we have encountered has been the failure of an overnight carer to attend, whilst my wife was away on family business. Late changes to carers rostered to provide my care appointments needs to be addressed. Overall, a very good care provider, with a set of well trained and very professional carers that daily attend to my needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending Helping Hands to other prospective clients.
Helping Hands are a very good care company. The carers are excellent. Generally the office and administration are very good but sometimes communication with the client can be lacking. The Rotas and invoices are received punctually.
A particular staff member and the team at Helping Hands Home Care (Worcester) cared for and looked out for our lovely Mum so diligently in her last few months before she passed away in June 2024. The attention to detail, kindness and professionalism was unfaltering. Mum really loved and enjoyed seeing her carers and that meant a lot to us when we couldn't be there - they were very much the eyes on the ground, the friends, the alarm-raisers when needed. We were fortunate to see how they interacted with her and how much joy she had interacting with them. My sister and I have so much respect for the Helping Hands Home Care (Worcester) team who rode the difficult end-of-life journey with Mum and us. We will always be thankful for the kindness, compassion and care they always showed to Mum and for their understanding and communication with my sister and I when it mattered most to ensure Mum had, despite the challenges she faced, the dignity she deserved at the end of her life. Thank you so very much.
In general, the carers that attend to mum provide the agreed care required, are kind and courteous to mum. They are usually on time and if there is any problem I am contacted by the office. I appreciate if there is a shortage of staff that times and carers need to be adjusted however sometimes the time slots are not within the agreed call times. The following week carer list is sent quite late on a Friday so if there are any queries you can't get hold of the local office and the out of hours team cannot help. Mum is very appreciative of the support she receives and seems to get on well with them all.
This is a review about the service my father received from August 2024 until his admission to a care home in March 2025. There were some excellent carers but there were also carers that appeared to be less good. Whilst not present when care was delivered this was apparent from the electronic records. This often also became apparent with regard to food provision and reporting of items that were in short supply. I also did not appreciate that an article written about my fathers wife in your inhouse magazine was shown to my father. This really upset him. I complained about the article but got no response. The communication from the office was sometimes poor and emails were not answered. One care manager was excellent and communicated very well. One care manager accused us of something by email which was not true and did not respond when challenged about it. HH was responsive in emergency situations which was appreciated.
We have been using the services for over a year now. We are delighted that we have the same brilliant carer every week as this creates continuity for my husband and so the routine can remain the same. This is important for my husband's well being and for mine. The carer always carry out the task allotted to them with cheerfulness, kindness and great care. I am usually kept informed by the office if things have to change at any point so I always know what's happening,. This is important too. I feel I can ring the office at any time if I have any concerns... so far , none!
My mother has daily care at home. We chose this option so she could stay in her own surroundings, which she cherishes. Helping Hands has provided several different carers during the past 2 years, most of whom are regular on the rota. They have all been genuinely lovely, caring people. I could never have imagined such friendly care and support. They have taken in charge all of the daily household tasks, but more than this, it is they that are defining the quality of my mother's life in her final years and they are doing a wonderful job with this. She sounds so happy whenever I phone up. It is difficult to express just how good is the service offered by Helping Hands. Thank you.
Myself and my mothers daughter cannot praise the service enough. The office staff are easy to contact ,you are never waiting long for somebody to answer or if busy they phone you back as soon as they can. The carers have all been wonderful, kind, thoughtful and giving the utmost care to mum ,showing her respect and dignity at all times and respecting her preferences.
The care provided for my wife is a great help as it lightens my load as a house husband !!! The weekly rota is e mailed in advance giving dates time & the name of the carer The cost per week is advised & paid by direct debit so that in all respects the administration time is minimal On some occasions the carer may be different to that advised but this has not been a major issue
