View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Hertford)Helped my mum post an operation as she had limited mobility. The whole team at 'Helping Hands' were excellent from the admin team to the caring staff. I would have no hesitation recommending them to friends & family.
My husband, generally has a 2 hour visit weekly and 99% of the time he has the same carer who now feels like a friend to us both. He has very poor mobility and has mixed dementia. I deal with his day to day care but the carer provides great company for him and they always go out for a walk (my husband on his scooter). From the first moment we met her I knew she understood his needs. My husband enjoys his time with the carer enormously and the stimulation she gives him with chats and laughter are just what he needs. One of the aspects of Helping Hands that is particularly valuable to us is that I am able to change arrangements easily - cancelling if we are going away or book an extra call when required.
I had arranged for my uncle to have weekly visits from Helping Hands some months ago as he was starting to need some more help at home. I am his nearest supporter and live 300 miles away. The organisation and visits were professionally organised, tailored to his needs and incredibly caring. This week he had an emergency admission to hospital and the support we received was exceptional. Nothing was a problem. Additional visits were arranged to take him clothing and supplies, a short notice change of schedule to bring him home which was only possible when a particular member of staff came in on her day off to facilitate this. Another member of staff works tirelessly to arrange daily visits for him to enable him to be well supported until I can come down and take control in person. Without their wonderful support we managed to make a very distressful situation for my uncle much more manageable. I will be forever grateful.
I found that all of the people associated with my care were absolutely brilliant. They were always prompt and on time, they were always extremely helpful reminding me of everything that I needed for work and they had a checklist of things that I would need, which they would repeat back to me. Would definitely recommend this service to people.
Wow, what a service. Wow, what a team! We've just finished a month of care from the Hertford branch of Helping Hands. We needed this because my husband was recovering from an operation and couldn't transfer me for a month. All the staff arrived exactly on time, or within their quarter of an hour window. They were all polite, friendly, chatty, and at the same time most professional. I was amazed at how much they remembered from visit to visit i.e. putting my arms in the jumper first rather than my head, uncurling my fingers in bed at night, and even remembering my colour-coded flannels and towels! This was something that I was dreading, but they all managed to put me at ease straight away. I would definitely recommend this branch of Helping Hands and because my husband needs to have an operation on his knee, we will be very happy to use this service again. We couldn't have done it without you, thank you so much!
The manager was excellent in determining my father’s home care needs and arranged his care very swiftly, effectively and efficiently. The carers were absolutely superb and very lovely and we could clearly see that they actually cared. They went above and beyond their duty to ensure that all my father's care needs were met and were genuinely lovely people. Full marks to the team and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
Wonderful service with very friendly staff. If anything they are not sure of, they contact you. If you want an update, they contact you. If they are concerned about anything, they contact you. Great company on a daily basis for my mum and peace of mind for me as I live so far away. Highly recommend.
I had the privilege of meeting the carer in person. She was excellent. Very helpful, thoughtful and caring she explained everything to me even though I asked her several questions during our conversation. Nothing was too much for her. Lovely person.
