as I live alone ,it was suggested I needed some extra help ar home until I was more mobile and able to fend for myself.I found all staff most helpful and capable at tending to my Immediate needs. I also had staff to act as cleaners until
able to do it myself again.I would highly recommend Helping Hands to anyone who needed care either short or long term
We are so pleased...
My Dad can't cook and his personal hygiene is poor but he "forgot" to tell me his career was going away until a few days prior on the grounds "he would be fine".
Following a quick search I called Helping Hands slightly nervously as my Dad generally doesn't like anyone different / replacing his regular career.
According to my Dad a very lovely person then visited him with his regular career and organised cover for 2 weeks.
And to my Dad's surprise (and mine) the careers that then visited were even nicer. Super efficient, very caring, very good company. All in all - simply excellent.
In fact the whole service has been superb. Really superb.
Well done and many thanks to all at Helping Hands.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we really do appreciate it.
We are so pleased to hear that our team was able to step in quickly and provide the support your dad needed while his regular carer was away.
It is wonderful to know that the carers made him...
Mum passed away recently at the age of 96, in her own home which is what she always wanted. We could not have managed this without the support of Helping Hands and the amazing carers that have attended mum over the years. Nothing was too much trouble for the carers and mum grew to appreciate their kindness and hard work over that time.
We agreed a support plan right at the beginning of mum's care but, this was always going to be a fluid document that needed editing, changing and updating as time progressed. This always felt like a team effort with good communication between myself and the team at all times. It was also easy to add additional visits when we were going away.
My thanks and heartfelt appreciation to all involved with the Hertford Team in looking after mum, right up until the end.
Good Afternoon Ian,
It means so much to hear that our carers' kindness and...
Helped my mum post an operation as she had limited mobility.
The whole team at 'Helping Hands' were excellent from the admin team to the caring staff.
I would have no hesitation recommending them to friends & family.
My husband, generally has a 2 hour visit weekly and 99% of the time he has the same carer who now feels like a friend to us both. He has very poor mobility and has mixed dementia. I deal with his day to day care but the carer provides great company for him and they always go out for a walk (my husband on his scooter). From the first moment we met her I knew she understood his needs. My husband enjoys his time with the carer enormously and the stimulation she gives him with chats and laughter are just what he needs. One of the aspects of Helping Hands that is particularly valuable to us is that I am able to change arrangements easily - cancelling if we are going away or book an extra call when required.
I had arranged for my uncle to have weekly visits from Helping Hands some months ago as he was starting to need some more help at home. I am his nearest supporter and live 300 miles away. The organisation and visits were professionally organised, tailored to his needs and incredibly caring.
This week he had an emergency admission to hospital and the support we received was exceptional. Nothing was a problem. Additional visits were arranged to take him clothing and supplies, a short notice change of schedule to bring him home which was only possible when a particular member of staff came in on her day off to facilitate this. Another member of staff works tirelessly to arrange daily visits for him to enable him to be well supported until I can come down and take control in person.
Without their wonderful support we managed to make a very distressful situation for my uncle much more manageable.
I will be forever grateful.
I found that all of the people associated with my care were absolutely brilliant. They were always prompt and on time, they were always extremely helpful reminding me of everything that I needed for work and they had a checklist of things that I would need, which they would repeat back to me. Would definitely recommend this service to people.
Wow, what a service. Wow, what a team! We've just finished a month of care from the Hertford branch of Helping Hands. We needed this because my husband was recovering from an operation and couldn't transfer me for a month. All the staff arrived exactly on time, or within their quarter of an hour window. They were all polite, friendly, chatty, and at the same time most professional. I was amazed at how much they remembered from visit to visit i.e. putting my arms in the jumper first rather than my head, uncurling my fingers in bed at night, and even remembering my colour-coded flannels and towels! This was something that I was dreading, but they all managed to put me at ease straight away. I would definitely recommend this branch of Helping Hands and because my husband needs to have an operation on his knee, we will be very happy to use this service again. We couldn't have done it without you, thank you so much!
They went above and beyond their duty to ensure that all my father's care needs were met and were genuinely lovely people. Full marks to the team and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
Great company on a daily basis for my mum and peace of mind for me as I live so far away.
Highly recommend.
I had the privilege of meeting the carer in person. She was excellent. Very helpful, thoughtful and caring she explained everything to me even though I asked her several questions during our conversation. Nothing was too much for her. Lovely person.
Thank you so much for leaving us a brilliant review! I'm really pleased to hear how happy you were with our carer and that you considered her to be so excellent and helpful! Your feedback is truly appreciated.
Best wishes.
