View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Swadlincote)We are more than happy with the service received from the girls. They are on time, thoughtful and caring towards my 92 year old mum. As well as being diligent in what they do, the girls chat to mum and give her the additional company that she needs. I know that when we are away, I can rely on them to look after mum in every way, which gives me total peace of mind.
My wife and I fairly stubbornly evaded asking for help for quite a long time when we clearly needed it, despite family suggestions. It took an emergency situation for us to make a move and thankfully Helping Hands Swadlincote came to the rescue immediately. From the word go we were amazed at the difference this has made to our lives and almost twelve months from that initial call we are happily spending our lives in a more relaxed fashion thanks to the very welcome visits we get three times every week from a particular member of staff, our Helping Hands personal carer. She is so thoughtful and understands our practical needs and those personal needs required by my wife. All dealt with in a respectful, kind and caring way. Plus we have many great laughs and it is very reassuring to us that someone who has got to know us well continues to call on us providing that all-important companionship. On the rare occasion when a change of carer to visit us has been made we have been equally impressed.
Auntie always spoke high of the care she had at home, unfortunately she requires 24/7 for her needs
Helping Hands provided care services for a period of 2.5 years for my wife, who has a degenerative disease. During the period her care needs have increased considerably. In this time, we have had a number of different carers, but care was always of a high standard and my wife has been treated with dignity and kindness. We have also seen a number of management changes in that time and initially there was room for improvement, but the current management at the Swadlincote branch has transformed the professionalism of the service they offer. They have always been able to accommodate changes in the level of care and short notice requests for additional shifts. When I was away from home, I was always confident that my wife would be safe with the carers and that they would leave the house secure when they left. The main area for improvement is the national out-of-hours call centre, which can be difficult to contact when things go wrong. HH can be expensive compared to some other providers.
we found the carers took the time to understand my uncles specific needs and requirements plus all the topics and subjects that he was interested in so that they could chat with him about these. They always took the time and patience required to care for my uncle which made him feel both at ease and valued and he liked the carers approach. He always felt safe with them and looked forward to them visiting him which was a great thing to hear
Helping hands recently provided some care for my mum while she was recovering after a hospital stay. The service was friendly and professional right from my first enquiry and they were able to offer a temporary 5 week package of care for us. My mum found her carers to be very friendly kind and trustworthy while helping her with some domestic tasks one day a week. They had some shared interests and made her feel comfortable right from the start. We wouldn't hesitate to use the service again.
Very caring, helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Very happy with service.
Helping Hands (Swadlincote) have been caring for my mum since November 2023 and the care they give is excellent. All of the carers are helpful and friendly and assist Mum with her daily routines. They are also very considerate to my dad who doesn't require personal care himself and was at first reluctant to have people in the house. One of the carers was a massive help to him when he had a medical issue himself and I was uncontactable - she contacted the necessary service and helped to get the problem resolved quickly for which we are very grateful. If ever we've had an issue to address or questions to ask the office and management team have been really helpful.
My grandma has been having care for just over 6 months now. Very happy with the service she has received and she loves the ladies who come to visit her, she usually has the same ones visiting her each morning which she really enjoys.
Helping Hands has been supporting my mother since September 2023 they offer a professional service with caring and cheerful staff. The carers are always respectful and supportive and their visits brighten my mother's day. They provide valuable feedback to my sister and I that ensures we are able to we are giving the best possible support. My mother is now funded by the NHS but we were able to continue with Helping Hands which we were delighted about as mum is familiar with the carers as they are with her. We hear at lot of laughter during mum's support visits and she seems to enjoy the company of the carers even though she finds her personal care harder to understand or cooperate with. She is always given time and plentiful encouragement and reassurance during visits. The only issue we would say we have had was with the out of hours service but we have raised this and understand that the issues are being addressed.
I can’t praise the Swadlincote team high enough since we started using them from the beginning of 2023, the care for my mum has been brilliant, the staff are very caring and friendly, it puts my mind at rest knowing they are supporting and caring for Mum. They always let me know if there are any issues and help provide additional care when required.
The staff at Helping Hands are well trained in caring for patients who need assistance to shower, dress and help them with the daily routine. Ever since 2021 I started using the company after having a stroke they have been marvellous. Indeed the staff change quite often in the care business but when new people start they are always introduced to Mum and I. Recently I have had a sinus operation and I had various infections and the staff have attended hospital and driving me to dental and GP appointments. Also when I was ill the carer telephoned 999 and stayed with me until the ambulance arrived. It is marvellous that many of them have become friends. Each week I receive an email with whom is visiting the following week. Management and office staff are so helpful that when I need extra support or change the time of carers they will always oblige me. I must say Helping Hands Swadlincote, due to the various staff members changes, they have been great and helpful at all times.
Mum's carers from Helping Hands are very caring and lovely company for her. She looks forward to them coming as they are always chatty and have good and funny conversations and will fulfill all her needs. Timekeeping has got a lot better recently and the quality of the team has also improved. The team will do most anything you ask of from personal care to cooking lunches.
Helping Hands provide professional care for my husband. All the staff are friendly, kind, thoughtful and very patient. Reliable and timing is good. We are very happy with the care provided.
My mum received care from Helping Hands for the last few months of her life. Mum was 92 years old when she needed help and although she had reservations due to a poor experience with a different organisation, she agreed to have Helping Hands come into her life and home. She had regular visits by her carers and she really enjoyed their visits. Nothing was too much trouble and she said “they treated me as me and not some daft old woman” The care was provided with dignity and respect and I was alerted by the team if they had any concerns. The team made a huge difference to the quality of my mum's final days and were really flexible in their approach to suit my mum's needs. Thank you.
Fantastic carers that sadly seem to be let down by some poor organisational management. Scheduling is often inaccurate and different carers arrive to those that were supposed to. I have problems with invoicing that are still not resolved from when I commenced using the service. In comparison, the carers that come to look after me are absolutely fantastic and I have absolutely nothing but praise.
The branch of Helping Hands Home Care (Swadlincote) seems to be split into two: 1) Home visit carers who are brilliant, they are all very caring and treat Mum with respect and fulfil her every need. They are great company for her and she enjoys their visits. 2) Management, since the new management we have had issues with timing being moved without consent, and lateness of care workers due to the time allocated between previous calls. We have spoken to the management and they say things are going to change but doesn't improve when we do raise concerns we get talked over as if we're in the wrong.
A would like to thank the Helping Hands Home Care team for their professional support over the last few months, in what has been a difficult time for me. It's such a comfort to know my step Dad is being given such excellent care and attention. Thank you all.
Helping hands have been supporting my mother-in-law since September this year, they are extremely helpful, professional and reactive to our and my mother-in-laws needs ensuring she gets the best care possible. Very happy with their service
My father has received absolutely fantastic service from Helping Hands and care was quickly put into place on his discharge from hospital. This has really helped my mom. Can’t fault the service provided.
