View full details of Helping Hands Home Care (Croydon)I just want to leave a personal review for Christina at Croydon Helping Hands. My mother in law has Alzheimer's and I have to personally say a huge thank you to Christina not just for the support she gave Brenda , but for all the support and friendship she gave me. It's hard to watch a loved one struggle with dementia and I want to be the very best support to Brenda that I can. This has been helped by Christina. She is amazing! She always took my calls, gave me wonderful advice and encouragement and recommended the best products and techniques to make Brenda's life better . Christina has endless patience, especially since I'm not the brightest of folk! She really is an amazing credit to Helping Hands and I feel privileged to have known her. She wasn't just a care coordinator, she was our go to safe place. A person we could trust 100%, she became part of our family, Brenda's favourite and a wonderful friend to me. Without her support life would have been so much harder.
Mum's number one carer was brilliant & made a huge positive difference to her life over several years. Mum could be vey difficult but this carer had her eating out of her hands and Mum's only complaint was that this carer couldn't work 7 days a week 52 weeks a year.
I found the staff very helpful when applying for care. Carers that came were always kind and considerate to my husband . This can be difficult when patient's are ill . They also were willing to talk to me as his Carer as sometimes life becomes difficult and the support they gave was very useful !
We have been really pleased with the support from Helping Hands for my elderly mum who has needed care. The carers have been very good, and a few of mum's 'regulars' have been exceptional with their kindness, care and professionalism. The office team have also been very good, have kept us informed of any changes and have been a pleasure to deal with.
Helping Hands has been providing care visits to my aunt for a year to date. From the initial meeting it was clear that they always have the clients' needs and wishes as a priority and my relative, although reticent about accepting care, quickly felt comfortable and positive about the experience. Her regular care givers have become valued friends to her, and nothing is too much trouble. During a recent home emergency Helping Hands staff went above and beyond to support my aunt and myself to deal with the situation. The reassurance and care was exceptional, from ensuring her safety in the home, supplying food and warm drinks when there was no electricity and hot water, to helping source respite care. My aunt's regular carers helped to pack supplies and accompanied us to her temporary home. My aunt was feeling distressed and anxious - having her regular carers' support was invaluable. I can't thank the team enough and would wholeheartedly recommend their services.
Good help has been provided. The carers have turned up on time and are polite, friendly and ready to offer any assistance.
The service provided by the carers is very much appreciated. It takes a burden off my shoulders. Carers are well presented, do a good job and willing to help me do the bed. The offer to help me with any household chores if required. My wife appreciates the service she receives.
Since becoming a client I have had several staff. Two of which I have had more regularly. They are punctual, pleasant, companionable and efficient. They obviously are experienced as they will use their initiative to complete tasks. they stand out from the other staff I have had who needed directing a lot.
I have been using Helping Hands since December 2022 for my dad and I have to say they have been brilliant. The carers provided are always professional and caring, giving a lot of attention to his needs and providing feedback to me with any concerns. I have occasionally called the office with requests and queries and they’re always very helpful. I would definitely recommend them.
