View Full Details of Home Instead (West Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute and Arran)All the carers we have had from Home Instead have been extremely kind, considerate, careful, attentive, thoughtful and willing. I was deeply unsure as to wether I wanted any sort of carer coming in to help but I have to say Home Instead have been so efficient and easy to deal with that it has been a pleasure to have their help and support.
It has been good to have the support of the care company to oversea that my mum can continue to live in her own home as independently as possible. They have been very accommodating if my mum has had adhoc appointments and we need to change her visit last minute to enable the carers to take her there. My mum says all the staff are friendly and polite to her and she has now got into a routine looking forward to their visits .
On behalf of my siblings and my mum, we can not recommend the care and service that my mum receives from Home Instead highly enough. The companionship, respect and care that my mum receives has given her a continued confidence and dignity as an individual. For ourselves as a family it has given us peace of mind that our mum has a respectful, fun and loving individual in her life. We also benefit from knowing that some of the practicalities of day to day life are easier on us all.
My mum was supported at home by really good carers from Home Instead. They were all different but they made mum comfortable, and importantly, they interacted with her and made her final days at home as stimulating as it was possible to manage. It was really helpful that the care team also worked well with the family and the local authority care team who were in 4 times a day.
We are very happy with the service Home Instead is providing. Dad's companion has a great relationship with him and he looks forward to her visits. We are pleased with her level of care and the help with housework. The feedback on the App is most helpful. Contact with the office is good and if there are any problems with service provision we are always alerted swiftly and this is dealt with to everyone's satisfaction. Thank you
The care and attention we received from the care team allowed my wife to remain at home which was very important to both of us. The management worked with me to get the best out of the service, no problem was too big. Continuous staff allowed us to develop good relationships and the team were happy for me to work as part of the care team. Any changes we were informed of in a timely manner and with sensitivity. My wife was content and comfortable at home and that was in part due to the success of the care provision. I would highly recommend the care provider to family and friends.
The care provided by Home Instead has been reliable and professional since I first used their service in 2023. The carers have always been on time and have always shown great compassion and understanding towards the needs of my wife. This allows me to enjoy my respite periods without the need to be concerned for her well being. Any need to change the time or day of care has been accommodated without issue.
My mum has dementia and needs 24 hour care. This is provided with great willingness to keep her feeling happy and safe in her own home. She has become fond of "her ladies " The office team are efficient and nothing is too much trouble and I am kept well informed. I have already recommended the company to another member of my extended family.
The overall service has been excellent! Until a week or so ago when one of our excellent careers was removed and another reduced her her hours- all without warning. The result was we had anew carer, who I think is not very experienced, for four mornings in the week. She is a very pleasant young lady but I have some difficulty at times with communication . Had the change involved one or at most two mornings weekly, and there had been some communication, it would have been much easier to cope with. However I repeat the overall service has been excellent! Best regards
The care Mum receives from the members of the HomeInstead team is exceptional. Mum is front and centre. She is cared for as an individual with kindness, patience and respect. She has a say in her care and what she does and does not want, with every day different but nothing is too much trouble and the carers constantly adapting to Mum's needs.
We reached out to Home Instead to ask if they could provide care for my parents at our daughter's wedding. From start to finish dealing with Home Instead we were impressed. My parents both suffer from dementia and without care in place they would not have been able to attend the wedding. They live in England and the wedding was in Scotland so it was not possible to use their regular carers. The carer that was allocated to us was fantastic. Her care for my parents went above and beyond our expectations. She ensured that they were safe and happy 100% of the time. She fitted in with our family and friends completely and we were able to enjoy the wedding without having to worry about my parents at all. Thank you so much to the carer and Home Instead for your professional manner throughout the whole experience.
The service provided by the Home Instead carers enabled me to enjoy a much-needed holiday with my friends.
My husband suffers from dementia, now lacks capacity and is now in a care home but I know he agrees with my review. I myself am a minor client with only two hours of care per week. From August 2022-January 2023 we had a carer sitting up every night 10.30 pm-07:30 am and four separate hours per day. I can't speak highly enough of the service we received. The carers without exception, are efficient, caring, kind, thoughtful, friendly, and approachable, though diverse ages and personalities, they are a team. The owner only employs the best carers and is himself exemplary. He has become a friend and goes to see my husband. I always knew who was coming, they arrived on time, unlike the local authority care we previously had. I am on my own and one of the ladies that now come, we were unfortunate to suffer the death of our son-in-law and the severe illness of his wife, our daughter, the company has been most supportive. The service is expensive but well with it. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone.
The timing of and length of visits are excellent (1.5 hours am and pm) as are the willingness and flexibility of staff who care for both client and carer. Management are approachable and friendly. Individual client needs are considered and can vary or change. Preferences are sought and whole person care practised. I have discussed this with my mother during a window when she was more lucid and she smiled for agreement. It is good to have practical housework or shopping included. Her care is 24/7 and the pace she needs is understood.
There were a few changes of staff initially which was quite unsettling for my partner but once that was sorted out everything went well. I was pleased with the care and support my partner received from the home care provider. I felt comfortable with all the staff that came and they gave me a much-needed break every two weeks that they were here.
Home Instead (West Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute and Arran) carers have enabled us to take time away and now a holiday without having to worry about my father-in-law's care and safety. They built a great relationship with us over several months carrying out companionship visits to get to know him and us. We have found managers and carers to be friendly, courteous and kind. They have prepared meals and done some cleaning and carried out welfare checks which have been invaluable for us when we have needed some respite. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Flexible and as proactive as they can in view of the lack of available qualified carers. Home Instead has provided the much-needed support to keep my elderly and unwell parents safe in their time of need. This has been huge peace of mind for me, their daughter, and I remain grateful for the continued support which the company continues to provide in an area of Scotland so low on resources.
My mum has a carer who visits regularly and provides friendship and emotional support. My mum was initially reluctant to accept the service but was reassured by the staff who visited her and explained things. She has built up a lovely relationship with the carer and looks forward to her visits. When different carers came in, recently my mum became anxious and confused; it's so important to know and trust your carers.
Home Instead has provided excellent care for my father over the last year. He has enjoyed the company and care every day for a couple of hours for a hot lunch and a friendly chat, and it has given our family peace of mind knowing that he is not on his own. The carers are also fantastic at picking up on any health issues or other issues that need to be sorted and give more than 100% of their dedication, energy and kindness to my father and his needs.
Home Instead (West Dunbartonshire) provided a fantastic service for my husband. This was over a 5 day period, two hours each morning. With this service, I was able to have a 5-day break with friends. The care given to my husband was first class and he really appreciated the help and time given to him.
