Overall Experience

I receive help to wash and dress in the morning. Breakfast porridge is also prepared. In the evening at 5 PM, a carer comes and deals with some washing and prepares my dinner and a sandwich for lunch. I change into sleepwear.

Once a week, the carer shops for groceries. I provide a list and cash for the groceries.

I have been using MyLife home care for many years and could not be happier with the service the carers who visit me are incredibly patient, respectful and genuinely caring, they have taken the time to build a real bond of which had made a massive difference to my well being. The management and office staff are excellent.

Overall Experience

I have used MyLife for fifteen months so far. I have been enormously grateful for the service provided to me in that time. I have the same carer for two mornings a week, and he is excellent. I have also found the administrative staff extremely helpful. I cannot praise them too much.

Overall Experience

I've been meaning to do this for ages. I've been using My Life for a few years now, and the last time I reviewed them I gave them a bad write-up, because when I started, the provision was all over the place. However, I would now like to set the record straight, This agency is better than most.

1. They do try to send the staff you get on with. So you have a team of staff you know

2. The staff will try their best to do anything you want them to do.

3. Generally speaking, the staff are friendly and they do actually care

4. If you don't want a certain person for any reason, they will remove them from your regular staff.

5. They will act on any short term or long term changes you need to make to your routine, or the times you want people to come in.

6. They have responded to criticism.

criticism: Sometimes messages aren't passed on when you phone the office.

Advice for using any agency. Communicate your needs. Get a trusted person to help if you can't do this yourself

Overall Experience

I contacted My Life as I wanted to investigate the use of extra help in the home if, as has happened in the reticent past, I needed extra help when discharged from hospital. My Life understood this and were extremely helpful in putting in place a temporary twice weekly service for 2 weeks whilst I recovered from an accident and my usual helper in the house was away on holiday. The My Life carer who came was punctual and very helpful. Fortunately I did not need any personal care so cannot comment on this aspect of My Life services. I would certainly contact my Life again when in need of help.

Arrangements are very good overall. Staff on the whole very pleasant. Some care staff are more competent than others.

Punctuality of visits sometimes not as wished (but I understand reasons for delays).

I was very impressed with the patience and perseverance shown by the care staff who tried repeatedly to gain the trust of my aunt who has dementia. Despite her hostility the staff kept trying to provide support. Excellent support was also provided by management.

Overall Experience

Very good twice-daily package, 7/7 a week certainly helping my 90-year-old Dad manage at home. Valuable service! Without the package, my dad may have to consider care home placement. Most weeks staff turn up, only occasional unplanned absences.

Overall Experience

I have been using MyLife Edinburgh for about five months to help with care for my elderly parents, both with dementia and have always been impressed with the friendly care given by the lovely carers and also all the staff in the office who have answered my queries promptly and efficiently.
My mother, in particular, can be difficult with her dementia, and the carers proved to be so patient and caring with her.

I would recommend MyLife to anyone seeking help with any loved one.

We needed a care package quickly and were impressed at the speed at which the details were arranged. The carers were punctual, polite and patient. They assisted my husband to recover his confidence and independence. We required the care for a short time only and were more than satisfied with the provider.

Overall Experience

Added stress due to admin problems. Delays for restart after I accepted and offered to halve my visits while you were short-staffed (and covid) bad admin. I felt that no new staff had any prior knowledge of me ie did not read my file. As a result, I have been upset during phone calls. I don't get the rota before visits very often, rota changes are upsetting, not good.
