Astor Care have been amazing at helping us care for our nan. Our nan has been really unwell this year. Since Astor Care started to help us our nan is now thriving and doing really well. She has put on weight and is starting to eat properly again. Astor Care are great with communication no matter how many times I call or email. They are always happy to help. I don't know where we would be without them.

My daughter's abiding wish was for her 100-year-old grandmother to attend her wedding. This was only made possible by the kindness and cooperation of Astor Care & Nursing Agency, who provided a carer to look after my mum. This entailed collecting Mum from her home in the morning, attending the church service and wedding reception and returning her to her home in the evening where she was then gotten ready for bed. I cannot praise the carer and Astor Care highly enough for their services. We all now share, as a family, cherished memories of a lovely day.

If you live in an area covered by Astor Care, I wholeheartedly recommend you look nowhere else for your carers. They are not the cheapest provider, but in our family's opinion, they are the best. They have not only provided an excellent standard of care for Mum's physical needs but have also helped with her complex mental health needs. In the couple of months they have provided 4 care visits p/day, we've seen Mum's physical and mental health dramatically improve. I live 200 miles away from Mum, so the app they give family access to is invaluable. It enables me to manage Mum's care needs, whilst still being able to get on with my own life. The office staff are available 24/7, so problems are easily solved with a quick phone call, even a problem like the hospital wanting to discharge Mum at 11 pm on a Friday night! Astor carers actually care. They don't just do as asked, they see what needs doing and get on with it. Reassuring for Mum and I when we live so far apart.

Astor took on care from May 2021 and had to deal with increasingly difficult client needs. They did this with great care and attention always adapting to the deteriorating patient's situation. They showed a good level of sympathy and understanding despite the current difficulties around staffing. It worked well to have one main carer who developed trust between client and carer and was excellent in coming up with new ideas and responding well to each new obstacle. Would firmly recommend Astor.

Astor Care agency had looked after mum for a while initially mornings, then afternoon visits too, and from December 21, overnight and evening care with her daughters coming in every day too. Nothing was too much trouble and they always went above and beyond with helping with Mum's care, professional, caring, advice-giving. Mum enjoyed having her carers in and they all made a good relationship with her. The last month was hard and the carers supported us as a family as well. Would highly recommend.

We could not be happier with the care my Nan receives. Astor was recommended to us because of their reputation. Which has exceeded anything we could have hoped for. My Nan loves the carers, there’s continuity and the carers always go above and beyond. The app provides reassurance and an opportunity to keep up to date and pick up any concerns as soon as they arise. This transparency offers peace of mind to family members. Unfortunately, I have had to have carers. Thought I might be bothered about being washed and dressed but it's all been fine. All carers are kind and considerate and put you at ease. They do what I need and now know the routine and where everything belongs. They do things like I would do for myself when I could. I am happy when here. The company is nice.

The care and commitment of the carers looking after my wife during her illness was second to none. Operating out of the Bordon office, all carers treated my wife with dignity and professionalism. It was confidence building to see how the carers, some quite young people, built up a relationship with my wife, building trust in whatever functions they had to perform to get the job done. All care was undertaken with my wife's well-being as the paramount focus in everything they did. Confined to bed, she eventually looked forward to their visits regularly asking me what time they were coming. She saw the visits as a friendly chat as well as the necessary care that had to take place. On meeting wider members of the family, they too commented on their care and professionalism and the friendly manner in which they performed their duties. Thank you Astor Care for helping to make my wife's last few weeks as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Meet the Team (7)
Ken Lord started the business with the help of a registered Nurse in 1990.
Andrew Lord retired as Registered General Manager in August 2022 but still remains a Director of the Company along with Wendy Lord.
Tracey Lord remains an active Director of the Company running the Finance Department.
Kirsty previously worked as a Manager at a Private Psychiatric Practice for 17 years before joining Astor 8 years ago. She initially worked in the Finance Department and then, with the support of the Personal Development programme, completed her NVQ Level 5 in Adult Social Care to become the Registered Manager at Astor.
Since leaving education Tracy has always worked in Social Care. She completed her Level 5 in Adult Social Care qualification. Tracy joined Astor in May 2005. She completes supervisions, and assessments and monitors the well-being of both Staff and Clients in the Guildford and Godalming area.
Tracy also oversees the arrangements and staffing for our live-in care packages, ensuring that the appropriate placements are made.
Laura joined Astor Care in 2012 as a Health Care Assistant. She worked in that role for several years before coming to work in the office as a Care Coordinator. She has qualified as a Care Trainer and teaches all our in-house courses to our new staff and runs refresher training for our experienced staff. Laura then took on the role of Field Care Supervisor which she has undertaken in conjunction with her training role. Laura has recently passed her Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
Margo has extensive experience with Social Services and the Social care environment. She joined Astor in 2008 and monitors the well-being of both Staff and Clients in the Farnham and Bordon areas.
Karen has previously worked at Astor as a Health Care Assistant and Care Coordinator. She now selects candidates for the recruitment process and ensures a smooth induction into Astor. Karen also promotes the services that Astor can offer to potential new Clients.
In the Office both Jo and Chloe (Care Coordinators) support the Field Care Supervisors for all areas covered by Astor. They are the friendly voice at the end of the telephone ensuring Clients and Health Care Assistants are fully supported.
We also have Caroline who is our Advertising and Administration Consultant and she makes sure that all Staff are compliant and liaises with Karen regarding advertising opportunities.
