The Alexandras Community Care team offer expert, flexible care solutions to help people with additional needs to remain at home. The team cover Falmouth and Penryn, as well as surrounding areas such as Deveron, Feock, Mabe, Mylor, Flushing, Constantine, Perranwell and Mawnan Smith.
They offer flexible care packages with visit durations starting at 30 minutes up and range up to 24-hour care. This includes support with personal care such as dressing, washing and medication, to palliative care and dementia care. The office works extensively with the NHS to provide specialist care for advanced and complex conditions, for example, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Injuries.
They can also provide social visits and companionship with strolls around the seafront along the beaches such as Swanpool or Gyllingvase, or taking in the beautiful views in and around Falmouth such as the natural harbour of the Fal Estuary.
The team at Penryn are kept fully trained in the latest techniques and best practices with their in-house trainer as well as other externally accredited sources and are all DBS checked.

I only scored the Agency a 4 star, simply because we have a lot of carers each week and if we had a few less to aid continuity I would award a 5 . I appreciate this might be difficult as we have double handed 4 times a day. The office staff do all they can to assist in any requests/ concerns I may have and phone me to advise when the carers are delayed.
I am extremely happy with the service we receive, which has been ongoing for 2 and a half years now,

Having had no experience of Home Care before, we were a little concerned about letting"strangers" into our house. We needn't have worried: they were immediately friendly and reassuring. The overall aura from every carer was one of professionalism, politeness and a wiliingness to help with any task....
Having had no experience of Home Care before, we were a little concerned about letting"strangers" into our house. We needn't have worried: they were immediately friendly and reassuring. The overall aura from every carer was one of professionalism, politeness and a wiliingness to help with any task. They immediately donned protective gear ...gloves, apron and occasionally mask. Each carer even had knowledge of medicines to be taken and have frequently reminded us about taking them. Although intimate care was offerred they did not try to insist on starting that at once, until the client eventually accepted. The local office was always helpful with early teething problems that have eventually been sorted. Communications are very good. It was easy to develop a good rapport with each carer and begin chatting as "friends"

Alexandra's Community care has provided excellent care for my wife since she was diagnosed with dementia over a year ago. Care has been very well organised and efficient. Individual carers are well trained and motivated and have shown just the right caring attitude to my wife.

Sometimes I have concerns regarding any new younger carers as they do not convey what my mother needs and do not offer her what is available. My mother can be a difficult lady and some carers object, understandably, to her mood swings. The regular carers are her favourites and she objects to change.

Heidi first joined Alexandras Community Care in 2015 and has built her career in care through a variety of roles across the organisation. After...
Heidi first joined Alexandras Community Care in 2015 and has built her career in care through a variety of roles across the organisation. After spending time in a hospital setting to further develop her clinical knowledge, she later returned to Alexandras as Office Administrator for the Redruth office, where her care journey had first begun.
Since then, Heidi has continued to progress within the company, moving into a Deputy Manager role before joining the Falmouth branch to support the team during maternity cover. She has remained with the branch ever since and is now in the final stages of completing her NVQ Level 5 qualification while applying for her own registration as Branch Manager.
Heidi is proud to be part of the Falmouth team and is passionate about supporting both her colleagues and the people they care for. She is looking forward to continuing to grow in her role and helping the branch deliver kind, reliable and person-centred care.
