Mum had Candlelight Care for only three days in March 2025 but I cannot fault their care and attention to her in those final days. All the staff that attended her, which was three times a day, were polite, friendly and attentive to her needs. She was happy with every one of them that she met. The staff in the office were efficient and responsive and showed empathy during the time that mum sadly passed away. I believe that they all truly cared for her even though it was only for a short time. They most definitely put my mind at ease knowing that they were visiting her throughout the day. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needed care at home in the area that they cover.

Carers all appear friendly and clean. They support by providing meals and tidying as and when necessary. On occasion, timings are a little close together (service provided for lunch and evening meals). Any issues they find are escalated to us via text or phone calls, and on the odd occasion via the office too. The carers we have met have been friendly and efficient, and Mum enjoys their company.
Thank you for the kind words which we would like to share with Mum's core team. I agree, that communication is always the key to any successful delivery of a care package, especially with the family too.
They also reassure me that someone will be there to check on her safety.

We used the Uckfield branch of Candlelight from October 2020 to October 2023 to provide care for my husband. The team were absolutely amazing; professional, caring and supportive. They fully met the needs of my husband and provided him with the best care that I could have asked for. They listened to what he wanted/needed and followed his care plan and guidelines. They were friendly, and respected being in our home, ensuring they left it clean and tidy. The team enabled me to keep my husband at home, where he wanted to be. We couldn’t have asked for more and I am truly thankful to the Uckfield Team.

All the carers are lovely, they are all very polite and caring. They always ask if there is anything they can do once they have sorted out my legs. Candlelight when first approached were only going to be temporary, but because it has been such a joy to have them come in every day I have decided to keep my care with them long term. I would very highly recommend them to anyone. I'm very, very happy with the carers and the office team.

Most of the carers are very empathetic and good at talking to the client. Some are cleverly frivolous and funny to encourage the client's compliance. Overall, they are pleasant and achieve their objective.

My brother was going to stay with my uncle for a few days so I cancelled the evening care visits. Storm Eunice came along which meant my brother had to cancel his plans due to transport problems. I called the office and in no time at all the evening visits were reinstated for my uncle. I don't live close by so this was such a relief.
We try to be accommodating, even when we are in the midst of a storm. Thank you for the beautiful words, these have been shared with the staff concerned.

Mandy's role is to keep the branch running as smoothly as possible, ensuring that all visits are covered and that the care staff, clients and clients' families remain happy.
Mandy was awarded her 15-year-long service award back in 2018.
Before coming into the care sector, Mandy used to have catering roles within pubs.
Away from her day job, Mandy enjoys relaxing hobbies such as sewing, knitting and doing jigsaws.
Mandy achieved her level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care in 2016
As a Community Team Manager, Penny's role is to ensure that clients and staff are happy. She liaises with family, social services and other professionals to ensure that we are providing the best care possible.
Before she joined Candlelight Care, Penny worked in child care.
In her spare time Penny looks after her primary school age son and they love to meet friends for days out to London or to go on National Trust walks.
Penny also enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Sarah Brockhurst has worked in the care sector for many years, progressing her career to Community Team Manager Assistant. In this role, Sarah carries out client assessments and client reviews.
Sarah is very devoted to her family and they like to spend time camping in the New Forest. She likes to crochet as a hobby, and her celebrity crush is James Martin.
Natalie co-ordinates the care visits for the Uckfield branch, ensuring that all are covered and at the correct time whilst trying to keep travelling time for care staff to a minimum.
Before joining Candlelight Care Natalie was a coordinator for agencies, and she has also worked as an administrator.
In her spare time, Natalie likes to eat out and socialise with friends and family.
As our Recruitment Officer, Roxanne (Roxy) helps us to find new care and support staff to look after our clients in their own homes. In addition to posting new jobs on job sites, social media, and other outlets, she attends recruitment fairs and is constantly looking for ways to improve our recruitment process. She supports our potential new employees from the moment they apply for a job until they are invited for an interview, answering their questions, chasing up CVs and applications, and sometimes meeting for an informal chat in person or on the phone.
Away from the office, Roxy is a member of the Mere Amateur Dramatics society, which put on two productions a year in the Spring and Autumn. She has always loved performing and studied Acting at University, where she was able to tour regionally and Internationally in their productions.
