We are very grateful to the agency that there has been continuity of care throughout the lock-down period and overall we are very confident in the care they provide Mum and Dad.
Carers always did their best in often difficult and challenging circumstances.
There have been many administrative improvements since the advent of 1st Homecare's new management. Crucially, management at the highest level respects our family's and the nurse's expertise listening to any concerns. Though few concerns have arisen, all have been swiftly and sensitively dealt with to our complete satisfaction. Very highly recommended.
Generally excellent care.
I have been very happy with my mother’s care. She gets on with the carers very well and they have been very good at responding to changes in care needs.
Just before Christmas, Dad became extremely ill and was rushed into hospital. We were told he had about 3 hours to live. His bowel had twisted and his blood pressure was 60/50! I rushed to the hospital along with my family. We were in complete shock as his health was failing so quickly. Even the priest turned up and read Dad his last rights.
Thankfully Dad hung on in there and pulled through.
We all felt so exhausted and decided to go home to freshen up.
We later discovered from the nurses that 1st Homecare staff put aside their own plans for Christmas and went to the hospital to make sure dad was ok and had someone with him whilst we took a break.
These very special, wonderful carers selflessly went above and beyond to care and help my whole family with their huge hearts and endless kindness.
I would highly recommend 1st Homecare to everyone.
Thank you
The help from the carer has been invaluable to both my friend and her husband, who is the person needing the respite. Once the carer arrives in the morning, the day can begin. The carer takes over his wife who has Alzheimer's and organises washing and dressing. They chat together and the carer is always smiling and confident with my friend. She prepares breakfast for both of them, and they can sit and relax whilst eating. The carer does a few jobs around the kitchen, which cannot be done by my friend, so this, in turn, helps her husband who works from home and does not have the time always for the small jobs. The carer understands the needs of my friend and just gets on with the caring. Her husband doesn't then have to spend half the sessions explaining what needs doing. This has made a major change to both of their lives.
My sister and I needed help for my mother back in January 2019 very urgently and 1st Homecare were able to sort out a package for the evening of the next day, which was remarkably good. My mother has very much enjoyed the company of the carers, and my sister and I have enjoyed the peace of mind which it brought.
When you look for a provider, you look for a friendly and professional service. 1st Homecare (Oxford) Ltd provide both. Sometimes care needs change or are required urgently and the care manager has always been quick to respond and effective- would recommend.
I am very delighted by the skill and competence of every carer who helps me - I am so pleased to recommend 1st Homecare Ltd to whomever I may talk to on this matter. I have brain damage and I trust this agency very much with my care and treatment should any trouble happen to myself. Thanking you.
The service provided meets all my present requirements. Staff are always willing to assist with anything I may ask for.
Prompt and efficient.
Happy staff come and go.
